Just dont make fun of me for rather doing something interesting by myself than "hanging out" i.e. sitting on your couch going "what do you want to do" back and forth.

I`m an extreme extrovert and my husband is an introvert. I had to learn many of these things the hard way. Except for 8...because that applies to everyone.

Come on, I`m already enough of a mess of psychological issues; I don`t need yet another thing that`s considered wrong with me.

i didnt realize introverts were handicapped and needed such excessive special treatment. this list could also be called, "how to care for any human being ever except for #12"

I should show this to my wife, particularly #7.
If I`m busy, and she wants me, she`ll ask "are you busy?" which in her language means "stop what you`re doing right now and come here"

Almost nobody is completely introverted or completely extroverted. We exist in different places on the scale. I`m more of an introvert, but I`ve learned to manage how it affects my interactions with others.

As an ex-introvert, I`m actually really glad I had an extrovert force me into being more open to talking and interacting with people. It`s made me the psychotic, murderer that I am today.

I consider myself an introvert and these seem pretty spot on

Haha..`how to care for`... it`s like a guide to looking after a new puppy or something.

I`m quite low on the extroversion scale and a few of the things on this list aren`t really applicable to me... seems like more of a list to accommodate to the needs of the overly-sensitive.

I don`t think a majority of people are exclusively one type or the other, though. Like thrill-seeking is often associated with extroversion, but I am such an adrenaline junkie. And also, get an introvert to talk about something they`re really interested in and you would swear they were quite extroverted.

I wish that people treated me like this - all 12 points are wonderful. But I don`t class myself as introverted.

Wow, there`s a lot of people hating on introverts. I guess they`re just jelly that we`ve been statistically proven to be more intelligent, more creative, and more productive. Keep on hating haters.

Instead of giving extroverts a list of poo they have to do accommodate the fragile needs of introverts, I`ve got a much easier list for the introverts.

1. Stay the drat away from extroverts.

...end of list.

I would like to clarify that I`m not defending this list. Most of these are really petty and oversensitive. The only ones I really expect are 1 and 12. I`ve never had any trouble otherwise.

I`m fairly introverted, but my introvertedness doesn`t really get `affected` by any of these, however I`m also somewhat shy, which DOES get affected by these.

Stop making excuses for your social awkwardness. Don`t expect anyone to accommodate you; no one cares.

Introverts are so difficult to care for there are 12 points in their list of ten steps.

Most of this stuff has nothing to do with introversion. Getting embarrassed easily in public? Need to be "taught new skills in private?" Sounds like social anxiety. You can be introverted without being terrified of being in public.
Don`t interrupt them and give them advanced notice of changes? Sounds more like aspergurs, where routine is a necessity because they can`t handle basic changes.
I`m introverted as hell but none of that stuff describes me.

Pat & Irish: Yes I know some people are naturally introverted, but many others are not.

There are a lot of people in the middle as well.
I just feel it`s important to socially acclimatize kids and get them outside, playing, and making friendships.

A lot of people don`t understand what Introversion means. FoSchizle has the best definition. It is not a sign of a problem, or an illness it is a normal personality type that 50% of people throughout history have always had. If your thinking of people that display anti-social behavior that has nothing to do with extroversion.

Guess you have to be one to understand, I`d be so much happier if I could get my wife to understand all of these things about myself. Except 10 n 11, those don`t really apply to her.

Yeah, I`m very introverted. I guess the misconception is it means I`m a pasty loser who`s afraid of sunlight and loud noises.

All it really means is that I spend a lot of time thinking internally. I may seem shy, but that`s me gauging a room, determining what will be ok to say and do in a particular scenario. I spend a lot of time going on walks just to consider surroundings.

Just because we don`t all act like rash fratboys doesn`t make us boring or closed off, Crakr. We just think in a different way.

Yeah. We`re not pets.

And Crackr: You can be an introvert and spend lots of time outside. I have the mountains as a backyard and do a lot of solitary walking and thinking.

Buiadh: Not a troll a truth. Today`s youth are turning into socially inept uneducated mushrooms.

Wowummwow: Books are good, at least they engage people`s imaginations, but you still need to get outside.

Well that`s all fine and dandy, but if that`s all it meant to be introverted I can`t imagine why anybody would ever compile such a list as this. There`s a sense of entitlement required to make such requests that I don`t feel inclined to indulge.

Jake:

You can be introverted and still be socially normal. For instance, I`m a pretty big introvert, but I work as an RA which requires interaction and social skills. Introvertedness doesn`t mean socially inept, it just means you don`t get energy/refreshed from going out and doing stuff with other people, you need time to yourself to relax

Treat your kids like this and they`ll be maladjusted and angry with the world.

I wanna get this as a set of t-shirts and wear them to interviews/work every single day. When the boss starts yapping, point at the shirt. Because I`m not just introverted, I`m the kinda guy that will flip my s#it if anyone violates these rules. I may wanna get that checked out...
