    Yeah, we`re a generally peaceful bunch here in Scotland. But feck with our ice cream, our train conductors or our airports at your peril.

    Shouldn`t #1 be a lie of WMD`s when it was really to get our mind off the incapability to find Bin laden and to control their oil?

    We have different definitions of war. Turf "war"? Controlling animal populations? I got in a fight with my girlfriend because the color pink is stupid, did that just miss the top 10?

    No mention of the Battle of Brisbane? I read a great book called "Goodbye, Darkness: A memior of the Pacific War" by William Raymond Manchester and in one of it`s passages it mentioned a group of Australian soldiers walking past a group of American soldiers. The Americans wouldn`t stop talkin smack to the Aussies, shots were fired and a full blown battle ensued. I don`t remember the death toll but it was in the double digits.

    I suppose for starters a solid seat to sit on would be that of Noam Chomsky. However, whether it be him or anyone else you DO need to not take it as fact but research his (Noam`s) ideas and verify those but i`m fairly sure it can be a good starting seat if you wish to venture in to what is really happening in the Middle east. The purpose being minimizing pain and suffering which is interim until true peace forms. End the Pain. Start the talks.... please...

    Brian Betsinger At this point. there are enough diplomats to converse between these two "at war factions" please stop killing each other. If you do kill, please, no women or children, and if I need to come over there to mediate things then invite me.

    Brian Betsinger And I will never say that I am sick of stories from the middleeast of that they need to be more prevalent.. I`m saying that this is the age of rationalization.

    I hated Pap bush, I hate Puppet bush, but puppet bush had the best defence for his failure to find WMD.

    While they never found the weapons of mass destruction. They did find masses of illegal destructive weapons.

    its like raiding a home for Pot, and finding coke, meth and Brownstone instead.

    Every major conflict in history is down to one of two reasons, religion or nationalism. Use a pig or a bucket as an excuse to start if you want, it isn`t the cause.
    Oh, and the ice-cream wars had nothing to do with stolen goods, the vans were drug runners for rival gangs.

    Every major conflict in history is down to one of two reasons, religion or nationalism.
    So what was the American Civil War down to, then? It couldn`t have been nationalism, because it wasn`t fought between nations. And the religious composition of the belligerents on each side were broadly the same. I had been led to believe that it was about slavery, greed, profits and a centralised government trying to control constituent regions in rebellion, rather than having anything to do with either religion or nationalism.

    @Samsquanch: THIS Civil War?
    (everyone go watch it! 1 minute and very funny)

    I think greed is the #1 reason for wars, the rest is `window dressing` to sell it to the public.

    None of these is a reason for a war. For the entries that were about an actual war, not a "war" on emus or something, the incident listed was simply the event that sparked a war. Saying these silly things started a war is like dousing a building in gasoline, then blaming the person who called you on an oldschool landline for starting the fire by making a spark in the phone.
