Its the world of perspective... its by the way you live and the way you have been raised. The common folk see it all, the poli`s see what they are raised with and expect this to be the level that most people live with

I would switch the constitution and the bible around. What we see is a constitution that our politicians should uphold. (But they clearly don`t) What they see is a bible in which to force their beliefs onto the people and use as a guideline on how to run a country.

sparki1980, I think it`s just less obvious because the bible is a real physical object and the constitution is a real physical object and the picture makes it seem like they`re looking at the actual constitution (considering it`s a picture of the actual constitution). But if you follow the same logic that you do for the rest of the pictures, it`s still clear what they meant. I don`t think it needs to be removed. But then again it`s just a silly internet picture :P

Lillian, still is clumsy when compared to the others. Its not as obvious as the others because we`re not sure what we should be seeing.. the confusion is that we want to see the constitution when politicians want to see the bible in the constitution... so why are we looking at the bible and they looking at the constitution. Because of this, the author should just remove that part of the image.

Don`t quite understand the Bible/constitution thing... I`d probably flip it around, but whatever.

sparki1980, switching them around gets rid of the pattern created in this post and you end up saying that the politicians view the constitution as their bible. Try reading it like this:

What we see when we look at corporations: corporations
What politicians see when they look at corporations: a person

What we see when we look at unemployed people: unemployed people
What politicians see when they look at unemployed people: lazy people

What we see when we look at the bible: the bible
What politicians see when they look at the bible: the constitution

@LillianDulci, thanks for explaining it.. while your explanation makes sense of this for me, the way it is done in this picture is backasswards of what you are saying, IMO.. maybe it would make more sense if what we see is a constitution and what politicians see is a bible, idk still debatable but either way I`m sure the point is missed.

Take out or change the Bible/Constitution cause it either doesn`t really make sense the way it is written or it does and I disagree with it (having trouble figuring it out honestly) and this is a winner.

@LillianDulci:
But when certain politicians look at a bible, they see the constitution.
Like Barak Obama for instance? He opposes gay marriage, like his pastor Rev. Wright, eh? Oh but the MSM would NEVER mention that!

Why didn`t they use a real picture of activists? You know, the unemployed hipster or Berkeley student, strutting their pretentiousness around a park filled with stoners, rapists, Marxists and all the other dredges of society. Just show any single picture ever taken at an OWS rally (or better yet, the local jail the morning after any single OWS rally.)

The Bible one made me do a double-take before I was like, "Oh, NOW I get it!" Lillian`s got it right; it`s not implying that WE see the Bible as the true way, it`s that the politicians mistake what`s actually a Bible for the constitution. I know explaining the joke kills it, but a lot of people down below didn`t seem to get it.

Anyway, nice post, I rather enjoyed it. ;P

@Justin9235
You read that backwards... normal person sees bible, politician sees constitution. Watch any republican debate.

Justin9235, the point is that when normal people look at a bible, they see a bible. But when certain politicians look at a bible, they see the constitution. (Recall certain politicians basing their campaign on how Christian they are and wanting to make laws based off their religious beliefs and such)

Whoa whoa whoa, I agree with all of these except the bible. This country was founded on the idea that there would be no dominate religion and the government wouldn`t be affected by religion at all (separation of state and religion). No where in the constitution does it mention god, and therefore I see only the constitution, for it is the highest law in this country.

AJ: I`m not trying to start another partisan bickerfest. I`m just pointing out that all the complaints in the image refer to Republican politicians. You could make one for Dems too, but these complaints *generally* don`t apply as much toward them.

FoolsPrussia: Nancy Pelosi/Harry Reid.

The two worst (or best depending on the point of view) politicians in Washington, and both Democrats.

I agree with ivran.

Even the pictures used to prove their points may be invalid. Example, the us vs politician for charity is not even legitimate. The video of Santorum was even posted on I-A-B, having nothing to do with charity, and having everything to do with the gay agenda. If the creator of this wanted to be correct, they would have found a picture of a politician doing something charitable!

The mindlessness that goes into posts like this makes me sick.

@max5121--I think what the comic was getting at is that politicians like to pretend that the laws they`re passing are "what God would want," if I can put it that way. They appeal to religious groups by acting as though this country runs on religion, and as though the founding fathers wanted the constitution to incorporate religion.

@Slmmhmmr161 You would be absolutely correct if our politicians did their jobs. They don`t. They`re just about all lazy, corrupt pieces of poo, including our president.

While I don`t fully agree with this, I understand the message that it is trying to convey EXCEPT for the Bible/Constitution comparison. In the Oath of office a politician swears to uphold the constitution. It is their job to govern based off the constitution (not saying that they all do). This picture implies that it is a bad thing to put the constitution before the bible, or any religious ideals, and that is just plain stupid.

I might be missing something in that comparison though.

Oh and one more thing. A lazy person is not looking for work, therefore they are not in the labor force and cannot be counted as "unemployed".

Thank you macroeconomics course.

... also I would need to have more power. Your president is held down by congress and the SC.

So I would only *want* to be the leader of an almost totalitarian regime.

Despotism doesn`t work for other reasons, but would you be against one if you knew for a fact that the person at the top was a 100% selfless philanthropist? (which may not be possible given human nature)

I would. ... and I would do it for free. ... also I imagine a load of other people would as well. Trouble is no one would vote for us.

But these pics aren`t fair. Not all governments are as corrupt as that.
