The Hunger Games: Extended Trailer

Submitted by: Fancys_Asst 5 years ago in Entertainment

Anyone going to see this? Anyone read the books? Anyone think this is going to be one of the big films of the year?

Twilight is proof that sales and pre-sales don`t mean a movie is good. This movie looks like it will be subpar at best. Not bad, but not good either. The books were all right, but not amazing either.

I`m with Swaywithme. The books were pretty amazing. I would recommend them as a quick read.

Is this like Running Man or something?

Wow, way to choose the most boring parts of the book to put into an extended trailer.

"Oh wow look, a Westernized overly censored version of Battle Royale. Move along folks, nothing to see here."
I watched Battle Royale. This series, while similar, is also very different than it. It`s main themes are corruption, rebellion, and how there`s no black and white when it comes to war. They won`t become apparent until the last movie though. The only similarity is the kids being forced to kill each other.

Why does IAB say you have 1000 and then cut you off at like, 980 something? Ruuude!

looking forward to this becoming a successful trilogy =]! It`s already broken Twilight`s record for pre-sale tickets a month before it`s premier.

I wish the trailers would do a better job of showing people what`s to come... but in a way it stays true to the books. The Arena is supposed to be a wild unknown. You don`t know what you`re going to get until rise up from the platform.

I really enjoyed the books. They`re youth novels so they were easy, quick reads but thoroughly enjoyable. I appreciated the strong political messages and the careful public relationships act up until the arena itself, which is equally thrilling. I kept laughing as I was reading the books.

Here you have a book with a girl who learns to stand up to the government even when she is placed in the worst situation possible, she only becomes stronger and more determined to protect those she cares about.

Then you have Twilight, which tells you when your boyfriend dumps you, you should curl up and die.

I don`t want to say much more about the books, because I wouldn`t want to spoil it for anyone but I look forward to this becom

Yea cause that movie was such an original idea... I`m willing to bet even the tale of the Minotaur and the labyrinth (from greek mythology) were just ripping them off.

Hell Lord of the Flies, Running Man, and Mad Max were all probably ripping off parts and themes of it too.

Let me turn off the sarcasm for a minute. There are no original ideas anymore, especially not in hollywood or literature. Everything can have its theme or plot traced back to something(s). Hunger Games was not original, Battle Royale was not original, and all the rest of your favorite movies/books are not original. Deal with it.

On a side note... ten bucks you havent read the books, and got all your information of the hunger games from second/third hand sources.

I got the first book for my birthday but I`m saving it for a plane flight to/from China. I`ll probably wait until the movie`s on dvd to watch it since I don`t like seeing movies before reading the books.

The books were meh, but also somehow quite addicting. Interested in the film, but not sure.

The book was OK, but it was basically Battle Royale with a few twists.

Doesn`t look nearly as interesting as the hype. But, I haven`t heard of the books--maybe they`re amazing.

Books are awesome. Not sure about the movie, though I DO think that Woody Harrelson will be amazing as Haymitch.
