    I`m guessing this is something meant for older dogs who might have trouble going up stairs. But the dog can`t operate it on its own so idk how helpful it`d be.

    there are a lot of dogs with arthritic hips/legs but a person would have to be really rich to have this rather than just carry the dog up the stairs

    If I had a dog that needed a stair lift there would be a vet waiting for it at the top with a syringe full of pentobarbital.

    @Lauriloo, you can carry a little terrier up the stairs fine, but have you ever tried to carry a mastiff or great dane? And their legs are way more likely to go.

    You do realize that when dogs get very old, they are often disabled. Hip dysplasia is extremely common in German Shepherds, for example.

    @burbclaver

    Then maybe you shouldn`t have pets. Clearly, you don`t treat them like family, as you should.

    Hey, if you have the cash, it`s a free country!

    I looks like the basket sits on the floor, in the picture he`s already part-way up, eh? There`s a button for the doggie to push. Should be easy to train him to use it on his own.

    Also: They probably make bigger ones too...

    @shaustin - My parents could have done with something like this for their daschund. He was 17 years old, was mostly blind and had his share of back problems through his life. He still acted like a lively puppy until he got to the stairs.
