The cane has a support that runs under the clothing on his arm, beside his waist, and under his butt.

No, it`s not fake. It`s as Steelgrid says; there`s a metal plate the guy is sitting on that`s connected to the rod in the ground.

Really? Photoshopped? So they have been Photoshopping these things for hundreds of years now eh? Look up Hindu mysticism from as far back as history reports and these stories will pop up. Just because you cant figure it out doesn`t mean they can`t pull off a good illusion in public.

The point of their illusions is to demonstrate the illusion of reality. It`s not the trick that you are supposed to ponder, it`s the whole realm of perception that is to be pondered. These illusions are but spring boards to a larger quest for what is and is not real.

I cant believe ppl are still this stupid to think this is real. He is on a metal plate connected to a metal rod that connects to the metal cane that is connected to a metal plate on the ground. They always have a rug on the ground to cover that. The cane is steal painted and they always have loose baggy clothes to hide the rod and butt plate.

I can imagine how it is done, but i always wondered how they set up.
How do they prevent showing the audience the contraption they use?
I can`t imagine they set up and pack up in the middle of the night to minimize the amount of people seeing them and i also can`t imagine they have made a sort of exoskeleton with hinges and stuff that hey wear underneath their close from the moment they leave the house.

I`ve seen a video on a munk revealing how it`s done. the "stick" is actually anchored in the ground. With his sleeve he rides the part that runs off of the top, it travels from the top of the "stick" parallel with his right arm down his side, and has a plate-sized object he sits on. Without the robe on it`s nothing. But pretty simple when you realize how it`s done.

I`d pay that little kid to kick the bottom of the stick out. I think it would be funny, and whose going to get upset at a kid that young.

Aw, this is easy. I`ve seen this exact method used before to fake levitation. The stick has a bar that goes through his arm sleeve and then goes down his robe (along his side) to form a seat underneath of him. The `rug` is actually a covered piece of wood used as a base of a seat. So, without the draped clothing this would be easy ruin the illusion. However, learning to balance in these chairs takes some skill, but it`s not levitation.
