This isn`t aww... this is clearly the lioness trying to create a herd of domesticated Antelopes to insure a steady food supply... or she was raising an antelope army to wipe out us humans.

Listening to these `educated` people ramble on about the surprises, unexpected events and unanticipated contingents, I have to wonder- are their worlds such small microcosms, that they lose their common sense?
The whimsy that the saving the elephants person shows, may serve her well at fundraisers, but is not at all grounded in the science of animal behavior.

    So?
I sometimes help flies that happens end up in my ashtray, feed spiders and catch mosquito so I can release them.
Sometimes things just do poo because they want to.
If she could train the little antelope to distract the bigger ones so she could sneak up on the bigger ones there`s a step in lion behavioral evolution.

"The whimsy that the saving the elephants person shows, may serve her well at fundraisers, but is not at all grounded in the science of animal behavior."

Quite the opposite...her strong knowledge of animal behavior tells her that the most effective and efficient behavior would be to simply eat the antelope. But she doesn`t because she has adopted the animal. Even more fascinating is that in future iterations, she does eventually eat the antelope, showing some kind of internal battle not seen in the first relationship.
