i don`t see why people see cussing as a bad thing. it`s just words. Words that convey emotion or thoughts/feelings. There really is no harm done in saying them. It`s probably more hurtful to somebody to say `i want to sleep with your mother and sister at the same time` as opposed to saying `f*ck your stupid ass` or something similar..

"this is retarded. This is something that 5th graders do"

Yeah, perhaps, but I subscribed to a bunch of right-wing conservative sites like Eugene Delgaudio`s just so I could get e-mails that say "Dear Muffdiver Mcmean persony...."

Seriously, it isn`t that big of a deal. Don`t sign up for the damn thing. A local university in my town has faculty sign a sort of no gay humping clause - not the official term, but you know, close. They can`t be gay, drink, do drugs, etc. (Did I mention it`s private and ultra-religious?) I don`t think it`s the university`s business what the faculty does outside of the lecture hall, but those that want to be a part of it, let `em.
Some kid started this No Cussing Club because he didn`t want to hear his classmates use profane language. Is that so bad? Maybe young kids shouldn`t say c*nt or f*ck. I tell my kids that when they grow up and have to pay bills, they can cuss.
It doesn`t hurt you to have this kid create this "club". Now, if laws try to get passed, we`ll kick the f*cking c*nts out of office!

speaches = some fowl fruit! (see what I did there?)

For the record, I swear like a sailor and I don`t give a gosh golly darn. I know when it is and isn`t appropriate, though. Swearing at home with my friends = okay. Swearing in front of my boss = not okay. I tell my daughter there are no bad words. The "good" and "bad" comes from how you use them.

I think some of you commenters need to worry less about cussing and more about spelling.

"Freedom of speach"
"fowl language"

Really now, peeps.

@Gerry:
Like so many people you are misinformed about freedom of speech. It does not allow you to cuss or say anything you want to anyone. It allows you to protest the government without fear of torture or imprisonment. That is all.

freddyferret, your post is the definition of irony. "Speach" isn`t a word, in any context. You write a speech, not a speach.

I used to think that people who swore had generally lower intelligence.
Two decades later swearing has become so mainstream that even people considered witty resort to swearing in general conversation, so I have a new theory:
A person`s frequency of swearing is inversely proportional to their respect for those around them.
It still makes you look stupid, too.

Fowl language is ok under the right terms. if this happened to you,i think you would be justified in cussing

However if your doing this then maybe cussing isnt so justified.

Gerry, what is freedom of speach? Does that mean you are free to write a speach wherever you feel like it? Or did you mean freedom of speech? :P

Freedom of speach says you can cuss.
Manners or a desire to sound intelligent says you don`t.
