Mercedes figured if they could make emissions disappear they might as well make the car disappear too.

@Fatninja01

only on side of the car is `invisible` that why the video showed only 1 side of the car, and told you that one side was covered in LEDs and the other had a camera. c`mon son. derp. fp. ffs. other stuff to express this fool be foolish.

Fools frolick in the flamingo pool. But then father this all over everyone`s faces, and mother licks it all off. Mongeese. Pineapples.

THats very cool. But 2 things bad can happen from this. Car crashes because you cant see the car and 2... rage kos the car would be parked and you would think this carpark is available and then look and its like.... arrrggghhhh!!!!!!!!

If they could turn "Bitch" into energy, my ex-wife could supply the entire earth with free fuel for years.

Well, not necessarily. Both can be extracted/generated without fossil fuels, although that hasn`t been seen on a large scale from what I know.

Forget Hybrid cars, what we really need is the Indian Tata, the car that run on air

tedgp: When you have brainwashed econuts believing oil, coal, nuclear and ethanol are evil you get crap alternatives like solar and wind that aren`t profitable and never will be.

Fund the alternatives that can be profitable and things will change.

When you have countries like America who rely on oil purely due to corporate greed, then you can never expect any alternative fuels to be mass produced.

Hydrogen is plentiful and can come from many sources, it`s better than hybrid cars that use LiOn batteries. Current IC engines can be converted to use hydrogen as well. Hydrogen is the future for cars, just as Thorium is the future of nuclear energy.

I know some of you pantywaists are scared of Hydrogen and Nuclear, get over it, your scaremongering is prolonging our energy woes and delaying a bright future.

Where do people who think that these/electric cars think the hydrogen/electricity come from? Magic? No, it`s fossil fuels, so they`re basically buying an expensive version of a normal car.

Pretty fancy ass display on the car and all but Hydrogen cell technology is literally 30+ years old. Pretty sure we wont be seeing this commercial in North America publically.

With 90% of hydrogen derived from fossil sources the method of obtaining hydrogen needs to be cleared of fossil fuels as well as fuel cell production costs dropped drastically before this can be viable. Let`s see some initiative and inventiveness this side of the pond because I promise you that current technologies will be replaced and it`s up to us to decide what`s best.

I dont know, I just know there iss a much better, cleaner, and more energy efficient way to do all this other than feeding the world`s hunger for burning dead dinosaurs.

Steelgrid, the thing with photosynthesis is it may have efficiency issues, just as solar paneling does. Plants can afford these issues due the the fact that they don`t expend a lot of energy living. And the car will need a lot of fuel cells to have the kind of energy out put needed for normal tasks, like other electric cars.

I am in no way an expert on this, but with experimental energies being provided, I can guess at the outcomes.

I really hope fuel cell cars become viable real soon.

"are the emissions invisible or non-existent? sorry if its a dumb question. "

I think they are talking about 0 greenhouse emissions. But to be honest nothing puts out 0 emissions. The heating of oil, grease, and other parts are by default going to produce emissions during operation. But to be honest, even Fuel cell cars produce emissions, IE: water.

I just had a thought while typing this post. If plants can take in CO2 and sunlight to produce the most abundant form of life on this planet, why cant we do the same thing with electronics to produce Oxygen. Enzymatic biofuel cells are already being researched, and implanted into rats to research running artificial organs. So why cant we research a fuel cell that runs on photosynthesis?

"Thumbs up to Merc for progressing the fuel cell industry.
"

Im curious, as too how much of a carbon footprint the design of this tech, refueling stations, and continued production of this vehicle VS engines, techs, and refueling stations that are already in place.

I understand that as a whole this may be cleaner, but can we retrofit without doing more damage than what we are trying to repair?

Thumbs up to Merc for progressing the fuel cell industry.

The video is just eye candy for the real accomplishment which is the car underneath it all.

Sorry, that was supposed to be *Metaflex*. Of course both of these tech are way better IMO than the Manta Ray techs.

"Why? So we all could get in a crash??"

No, more like hiding a M1A1 Abrahms tank in plain sight. Oh hiding a gunship thats been scouting. perhaps that swat team trying to raid a drug dealer`s house.

Or hiding a spec ops team taking out our next great terrorist threat.

This is more cost effective and generally more plausible for combat applications than the current researches on the light bending Mettaflex.
