Incredibly Fast RC Jet In Action... I Want

Submitted by: BJH515 4 years ago Entertainment

A demonstration of a very quick RC Jet. Something this awesome has to be illegal... right?

1. I can`t believe the range of the R/C.
2. If I had this (obviously) expensive toy in my possession here`s what would happen- Perfect takeoff, lost it in the clouds, lands in a schoolyard two miles away and kills three kindergarteners.

It must take a LOT of skill to fly that thing! And he landed it perfectly, impressive! (At least to me)

My cat didn`t like the sound it made! lolz!

He-162 Pulse-Jet video. A flying 1/8 scale WW2 jetfighter.

@goaliejerry

The plane could have gyroscopes that make the control surfaces stabilize the plane, though if the plane is naturally "stable," it wouldn`t need anything especially at such high speed.

Likely it has what`s called "expo" programmed into the radio, where the controls are very "soggy" at the center of the stick and get progressively more sensitive at an increasing rate when you get further out from the center of the controls.

I think some planes also have a device to gauge speed so that this ratio can change as the plane`s speed changes, though I`ve never gone nearly that advanced.

But anyway, incredibly fast, and I have no idea how he manages to keep track of it. O.O

Control must be very difficult at that speed, I wonder if there is some sort of stablization mechanism?

I will have an R/C airplane someday. I`ve always wanted one, and I will have one.

There`s a YouTube vid - been around for a while - that shows what appears to be the same type plane at a an RC show. On one of those screaming low passes, an inadvertent twitch of the controls sends it into the pavement and reduces it to matchwood. Look it up if you want to see the downside of investing in one of these babies!

I would have no chance with that...crashed or lost forever in about 30 seconds.

350mph that close to the ground...I don`t think you`d see very much.
That is drating nuts! Sounds like an actual plane!
Same type of engine, same type of noise. It`s much quieter, but you`re much closer to it than you would be to a full size plane at full thrust.

If Jaguar and Bladon Jets succeed, you`ll be hearing cars making this kind of noise, although it`ll need muffling. The 700C exhaust temperature is a bit of an issue too. And it`s not cheap to make an engine that runs constantly at 80,000 rpm. But the basic idea is sound - turbines at constant speed to generate electricity for electric motors that drive the car.

Lot better if you hum "highway to the danger zone" while you watch it.

That thing must have a camera on it and the dude controlling it has a small wireless lcd screen in his shades..

Has to be.. the guy with the camera couldn`t keep up with it never mind the guy controlling it... That would get lost so fast on the turns..

After watching that all I can think is that with some careful editing and replacing the audio, I bet you could use that video to convince people that it`s a UFO, because most people would totally be fooled by the scale.

"That must be easy to lose"
Agreed. I`ve never flown an RC jet so I can`t really say, but I`m impressed with the pilot`s skills. I`ve always thought it would be difficult to keep track of it, much less make adjustments.

"you`d think this would be something that our military would use..."

They do, its called a drone. We have several models, some with standard props, others, like this RC, with turboprops.

Ive had, and destroyed 2 fixed wing Rcs. I think ill stick with my rotary wings. I especially enjoy my McpX. Very fun to fly, controllable enough to chase my daughter and cat, yet capable enough to land on the ceiling, walls, and wherever I want.
