Wow, where`s the nearest Planned Parenthood? Looks like a lot of fun!!!

Yeah, like you actually need anything more than puberty to get kids thinking about sex. Everyone should learn about sex like I did. By snooping in my older brother`s room and finding his dirty magazines. Taught me everything I needed to know, lol.

American Life League? More like "You`ll go blind and get hairy palms unless you stop that League" or "Be ashamed of every natural sexual feeling you have League"

@Rhiea-chan: The vast majority of the stuff they`re saying about Planned Parenthood in that video is a flat-out lie.

PP is a respectable organization that provides and promotes comprehensive sex education--which yes, does discuss abstinence as a valid option, contrary to the beliefs of those who don`t actually know anything about PP yet hate it anyway.

What PP (and anyone with a brain) does not provide is "abstinence-ONLY" education, where kids are told to never have sex outside of marriage and pretty much nothing else. Comprehensive education involves teaching about the risks involved in sex and ways to protect yourself from those risks if you do choose to have sex--which is why areas that provide abstinence-only sex education also have far higher rates of teenage pregnancy than areas that provide a real education.

Abstinence-only doesn`t get kids to not have sex--all it does is make the sex as risky as possible when it inevitably happens.

I think it`s a good idea for parents to have an accessible stash of condoms in quantities where one wouldn`t be missed, even if the parents themselves don`t use them.

Most kids don`t readily get up the nerve to ask parents for them and won`t feel comfortable buying them. I would rather my child pocketed one of mine than stole one from a store or received one of questionable condition from a peer. And all the above options beats wishing for the best, a coke douche, or a coat hanger.

Yes, if that happened on the street, you`d be right. However, this is a classroom setting where people go to learn about things. It`s kind of a difference between someone cutting you on the street and in an operating room--one is a crime, one is a professional doing their job. And while PP does use the book the video mentions, it`s used for an older audience than the video says.

That statement`s incredibly demeaning to actual victims of pedophilia and inaccurate. Indecent exposure is not sexual assault thus does not constitute child sexual abuse.

Cajun: Indecent exposure is not sexual assault

Tell that to the police when they pick you up, better yet try explaining that to a judge.

Children can`t give consent, Parents are responsible for that. When some one, no matter who it is, shows your kid pornography that is indeed indecent and because it`s without your consent it`s sexual assault. Don`t believe me, why not you go out and experiment with it personally, let me know from prison how that worked out for you.

You`re right Agent00Smith, sex is forced upon us at all times. But so are a lot of other things, like advertisements, laws, and feelings of social inadequacy, (and being around jerks all the time, and having to go to school, work, and prison in the ugliest buildings imaginable). But nobody complains about those things... at least to anybody who cares.

@icklevamp: Agreed. Every human being, almost every mammal in fact, has either a penis or vagina. (well, you know, except those rare cases where they have both). A ten year old should be well aware of that fact. I feel so bad for planned parenthood. All the valuable tools that they provide for women and families in our communities being distorted and discredited. That so many people are boldly opposed to a women`s health resource just baffles me. For me, the intense outcries against planned parenthood fells like angry parents realizing that they can not control how their children see the world and frantically trying to make the world a little smaller, one educational resource after another, until their children are only exposed to the parent`s outdated, sexist, homophobic, and most likely religiously based views on the world. When some one, no matter who it is, shows your kid pornography that is indeed indecent and because it`s without your consent it`s sexual assault.

First of all not even parents can consent for their children that would be sexual abuse. Secondly, no actual genital involvement no sexual assault (Texas law is very clear about that). No one needs to go putting their hand on the stove to know the consequences. So don`t bother debating me if you`re going to mock my intelligence with the "try it yourself" charge.

That would be because it`s not addictive. People can form psychological dependencies on any habit or item, but masturbation is not inherently addictive.

    What...The F**k?
Aaanyways, I hate how everyone (using the kids back when I was in highschool) talk about premature sex as an inevitability. Like how teems somehow have absolutely no f***ing control over their thoughts and actions as soon as one hormone enters the bloodstream.
Anyone may argue that since it has always happened, it will always happen in the future. I say that is complete bullcrap and anyone who says it`s just how we work is an enabler.
Kids just don`t know how to control basic animal impulses yet, Hell, some adults still can`t control their damn id. Education is important, but there is a fine line, people.
My final point is how can we say we are advancing as a species while major overpopulation is dooming us, caused by not having kids and loose adults be able to keep it in their pants.

@DShepard: Handling population problems involves educating people about sex. This involves teaching the virtues of abstinence, as well as ways to practice sex safely if one chooses not to be abstinent. Telling kids "don`t have sex" has never worked, and never will. Especially when the same people saying "don`t have sex" are also saying "never masturbate" and "any form of contraception is evil".

Human beings are animals. We have the same needs and urges as any other animal. Yes, we can think and reason and make rational decisions--but rational decisions are only possible with a comprehensive education. You can`t make a rational decision about a subject you know almost nothing about, and what you DO know has been lies.

What`s needed is responsible sexual practices--and responsible, informed sexual practices can only be formed when people are taught the truth about sex.

Cajun: I was talking about parental permission on what schools can and can`t do with their children.
Hell, kids need a permission slip to go on a field trip to the zoo and nearly every activity, except for this pornographic propaganda.

Planned parenthood sprang from the social hygiene movement, aka eugenics, it`s about elitists that believe they know better than you do about how to teach our children and control population. Their preferred method of population control is through abortion, it`s sacrosanct to them, they profit from it tremendously.

Let me ask you this, would you allow any other commercial enterprise to enter the school system and proselytize to your kids about their product and how to get it, without your permission ?

    Somehow I highly doubt that.

I have never seen you admit when you are wrong. Do a quick Google search on Planned Parenthood and permission slips and you will see in fact that the kids do need permission to attend the PP sex education classes. So can you do it? Can you admit that you are wrong on this point?

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. Abortion services account for only about 3% of PP`s services. Saying they profit tremendously from it or are entirely about it is like saying McDonald`s is all about the cookies most people don`t even know they sell.

And if they wanted to do tons and tons of abortions, it`s awfully stupid of them to encourage the use of birth control, condoms, and other forms of contraception, as the usage of these drastically cuts down on the number of abortions people have.

You know who creates a need for abortions? People who refuse to teach kids about safe sex, who teach lies about condoms are unsafe and birth control doesn`t work. Those are the people who profit from abortions.

Yaezakura: Planned Parenthood makes over $1 Billion in annual income, 3% of it`s `services` may indeed be Abortions, but the money from that 3% makes up over a third of their health center income, more than $300 million income is taxpayer funding and another third is donations. Source

3% of what they do does not equal 3% of their income. They perform over 320,000 abortions a year. They are guilty of circumventing statutory rape laws, tell children how to circumvent parental consent laws to get an abortion, and have a long long list of botched abortions that`ve left women sterile.

CrakrJak, you`re going to have to do better than a right-wing blog that sources itself as its reference.

But, for the sake of argument, let`s say it`s accurate. That means Planned Parenthood takes in a considerable amount of money by performing abortions, which it then spends on programs educating people about sex so that fewer abortions are needed in the future.

You`re sitting here hating on an organization that has done far more to reduce the number of abortions performed in the US than pretty much ANY other organization.

Really ? Just how does an abstinence based organization "profit from abortions." ?

abstinence works 100% of the time, condoms do fail, the pill doesn`t always work, `Safe sex` is a lie. Roll the dice enough times and it will fail. Teaching kids that sex is `safe` encourages them to do it when they aren`t financially or mentally ready for such a burden, which leads to abortion.

They profit from fear--the fact abortion exists at all means people like you keep throwing money at them.

And if you`re right that comprehensive sex education leads to more abortions, how is it a documented fact that regions with abstinence-only sex education have universally higher rates of teen pregnancy than areas with comprehensive education programs?

What is wrong with you people on here? This video just shows how out of control Planned Parenthood has become. They want to "educate" kids about safe sex but what they`re really doing is showing kids all the perverse ways it can be done and the "toys" you can use as well. Does anyone remember when sex education in schools first started? It was more of an informative way the male/female bodies worked and what happens when an egg is fertilized, sort of like what you`d now see in a basic health class. Well that`s not how it is now. Now they take it upon themselves to teach our kids all the dirty crap about sex. I`m not a prude by any means but that`s our job as parents, not theirs. I refer you to my next post following this one. (Thanks 1000 character limit)

Anyway, 15 years ago my 6th grade daughter came home from school to announce she`s taking a C.P.R. course at school. After a few days into this course, I`d asked her "So,did you learn how to save a life today?". She said "No". I said "Chest compressions, mouth to mouth?". She said "No. I learned how to put a condom on with my hand and mouth". That`s when I found out C.P.R. stood for Creating Positive Relationships. It was a sex-ed class PURPOSELY designed to go behind parents backs AND it was promoted by Planned Parenthood! When I asked the school about it, their response was "we sent all parents a note about this". I checked the note. All it said was "Next week, your chid will be taking a C.P.R. course." No where did it mention what it stood for or what the course would be about. It led everyone to believe it was a life saving course. And that was 15 years ago.

It amazes me the ignorance of people who believe that abstinence only works. How did that whole "Just Say No to Drugs" work out? If you tell a kid not to do something it makes them want to do it.

I`m not saying abstinence should not be taught because it should. Kids need to learn how to not be pressured into having sex. It is abstinence only that doesn`t work. Kids also need to know how to use contraceptives for when they do end up having sex. Because pretty much everyone ends up having sex.

And in areas with REAL sex education, rates of teen pregnancy are lower than in areas with abstinence-only education. So yeah, maybe it works compared to NO sex education, but compared to a real one? Not even close.

The fact of the matter is, you`re wrong. This entire video is composed of lies. And you will never admit this, because you want to believe it`s true. Go out and find a single substantiated example of anything in this video being true, and I will gladly admit to being wrong.

"Too bad your stuck in your liberal mindset to not know these PP tactics are not appropriate."

I`m looking at both sides of the issue. It is you that is always stuck in your ideology. Abstinence only is a far right failure that doesn`t work. Kids have sex. Having adults tell them not to makes them want to have it more.
