It`s not just the USA, it`s the same everywhere.
Greece is even worse: you have to provide chest x-rays and stool samples to apply for a liscence to open a Website.

American society has been too uptight and doesn`t want to take any responsibility for itself, so it gives more of that responsibility to the government. Somebody, a majority, voted to put those politicians in office.

    rabble rabble rabble fox news...

so iab, have YOU ever tried starting a business? Have you ever had to deal with the EPA on YOUR property?

My kids and i got rid of our rc cars, because it did not matter where we played with them, anyone could report us for disturbing the peace. Even on private property, where the cars are no louder than lawnmowers on a sunday afternoon.

Fox tends to be liberal, in the real meaning of the word. It is the socialists in the Democrat Party and in the legacy media who are illiberal. Them calling themselves "liberals" does not mean they are liberal; they are in fact authoritarian.

    mcboozerilla-"drinking unpasteurized milk IS dangerous."

So is sky diving, so is smoking, so is eating raw oysters (bit me in the arse last year...still eating them).

The point is the people who DESIRE to purchase unpasteurized milk realize exactly what properties it has, and they want it anyway. They know that the guv`mint don`t like it, but they believe they receive other benefits from it (and they do).

It`s not like these people are trying to pass unpasteurized milk as pasteurized. Hell, they can charge more by claiming it`s not.

The point is that in this country you should have a choice. We a losing more choices every day.

I have to admit John Stossel is one of the few Fox News reporters who isn`t in the pockets of far right. Glenn Beck`s okay, at least he had the cajones to admit there is no moral issue with Gay marriage but I think I still have some staunch ideological disagreements though, and I really don`t like his style.

I would compromise your freedom to protect the majority of women

just found this quote by Adam Smith:

to imagine that he can arrange the different members of a great society with as much ease as the hand arranges the different pieces upon a chess-board. He does not consider that the pieces upon the chess-board have no other principle of motion besides that which the hand impresses upon them; but that, in the great chess-board of human society, every single piece has a principle of motion of its own, altogether different from that which the legislature might chuse to impress upon it.

And you don`t think there is any government encroachment into our lives? Just keep voting Democrat. You know it`s for our own good. Or you could vote conservative. Not necessarily Republican. Stay away from the liberal Republicans and the liberal Religious. They`re the same as the Dems: big government.

as far as prostitution all sex is prostitution. Someone has to pay for the dinner, movie, date, or as marriage goes, house note, utilities, car the list can go on. All these laws are designed for one thing, keep the money with the rich and give them more. The lobbyist admitted it, he is paid by "big business" to cut out the "little man" compition its not about republican or democrat neither one will be looking out for the little man they all look out for the people with the check books. Slavery is illegal? As George Carlen said, "Our owners wont like that"

Obviously some of the teenage Fox haters here have never tried to open a lemonade stand, or lawn service in their neighborhoods?

The era of Big Government approaches, prepare to give up your personal freedom for the benefit of all. (That is the marketing spin that is used). If it is good for us as a whole, than your personal freedom is not to be tolerated. Plus as the point was made, large companies with their politicians can control who is allowed to compete, and what we are all expected to pay.

I`m in favour of a more libertarian swing for you guys. Seems like most laws passed are purposefully vague so that you can be arrested for anything. And the notion that people were complaining over girl scout cookies is ridiculous. Sometimes if one or two people complain the police need to just say "calm down, they`re just cookies" and exercise their powers of discretion.
