To everyone who`s bitching about cats not needing baths - take a look at that cat`s legs, and the colour of the water she`s putting him in. It`s clearly some kind of medical bath, with specific instructions for how much water to use: that`s most likely the reason for the roasting pan.

Would have been easier if she held the cat by its scruff as she lowered it in...

To repeat every sensible person on here, cats do not need baths. I`ve got three cats and friends with show cats, bathing ruins the natural oils on their fur and actually makes their hair greasy and horrible. What you need o do if you have a yucky cat is stop bathing it and let the oils work.

Squrlz4Sale: "She should have put 8 inches of boiling water in that roasting pan, put it over a medium high flame, and seasoned with Mrs. Dash."

Dude, it`s like you are in my head.

Loved it! The roasting pan was the best part. I can usually get the goddam cat into the pan with much less trouble, you just need a hammer.

Cats = Suck

wouldn`t you scream no if they were trying to put you in a roaster pan?

@Steelgrid is correct! Although many don`t agree, cat-baths are most likely good for your indoor pet.

Brushing their teeth is even better for them. And about as easy to do, lolz!

Especially true is that if you bath your cat regularly, it will seriously cut down on people`s allergic reactions, about 7/8 of the time.

True me, I know a LOT about kittehs...

It`ll sound weird when you read it, but I`ve been talking to my cat since I got her, (about 3 weeks old, it`s been about 8 years now) and I catch her trying to imitate my sounds.
At some points I swear she understands English as well as a small toddler, with her responding to my statements to mews with emotional emphasis to convey her feelings on what I say.
But I like the way this cat goes from saying "Noooo." to "HEEEEELP!"
lol

"Nooooo, cats cover themselves in saliva. Unless you want your cat to smell nasty, be covered in dead fur and skin, have all the bacteria that they pick up under their paws while using a litterbox, and the countless amounts of parasites they can pick up, you should bathe a cat.

If nothing else, it makes them more pleasant to pet, prevents those allergic to pet dander from not coming to your house, and prevents furballs."

Mate where did you get them facts from, cats unless covered in ticks, fleas, excessive dirt as in fell in a mud pit or covered in diesal etc then a cat does not need a bath, they clean themselves daily and to a high standard. and ref makes them better to pet etc, really!! we have had cats for years and the only thing that could stink is the litter box, but as our cats live out doors most of the time that is not a drama either.

It was cute when she was holding it, but when she started putting it in the tub I just felt sad for it.

"She should have put 3-4 inches of hot water in the bottom of the whole bathtub, not just a little pan for such a big kitty."

Totally. That little pan is adding to the trauma.

Kinda looks like parts of that cat`s fur were bare... perhaps it was some sort of medical bath.

why would you have to bathe a cat? They clean themselves... that`s what they do. Stoopid people

Yeah, poor kitty! But sometimes you just HAVE TO give them a bath, eh.

She should have put 3-4 inches of hot water in the bottom of the whole bathtub, not just a little pan for such a big kitty.

Poor kitty..I always hated giving mine a bath...I hate it when they cry. However I did know of a kitty that loved water soooo much..you had to keep the toilet lid down, because If you didn`t, when you would go in to use the bathroom and all you would see is just a head poking out of the toilet bowl...because he would be sitting in the water...

@ScottishTree: Unfortunately, I think that`s the real audio. Poor kitteh. I don`t know if I could bring myself to go through with it with all those gut-wrenching "Nooo"s.

I do wish the owner was using a soft plastic baby bath instead of a hard metal roasting pan. With the cat struggling like that, it could get hurt by the edge of the pan.

@Smaus: Awww. You`re lucky. Sounds like you have a great cat. Does your cat want to get into the shower whenever it`s running--or only when you`re in it?

I love cats. Especially when they dress out at about 7 lbs, any larger the meat gets too tough.

Our ferret does something similar, although it sounds more like "Pardon me, Papa, but I must admit that I have been rather lazy since the last time I was bathed and therefore do not feel another cleansing is warranted."
