Wait wait... voluntary release is required by law? Somehow being legally bound to do something does not seem voluntary.
It means @Muart, that he complied with the law voluntarily. He went to court because someone challenged his status. Obama simply refused to release ANY of his documents, and has many tied up with court orders (like his University papers and grades, eh?).
McCain: followed the law
Obama: broke the law.
Plain and simple. Now saying the rules should change AFTER you break them is... very liberal.

@Draculya, I too am very interested in seeing what Obama can accomplish when he no longer has to worry about getting re-elected.

Might actually do more of the things that he said he would to get elected in the first place.

Right now, I`d vote for literally any candidate who`d make reforming the influence of money and special-interests influence in our political system. Literally any damn candidate. Worship the devil and eat babies, but want to vote for an ammendment to limit campaign contributions and enforce transparency for lobbyists and PACs...got my vote.

Until we can get our government working towars governing for us, the citizens, rather than spending the majority of their time fund-raising, campaigning, and pandering to special-interests and lobbyists...the whole system is fundamentally broken.

Not this current group, They believe they are above the law, that it shouldn`t apply to them, they know better and everyone else should live under cradle to grave socialism.

That`s what I mean by a socialist aristocracy. You can call it Feudalism 2.0 if you like, it`s pretty much the same thing.

I didn`t make the study and that article isn`t the first. This is a new discovery and it`s being ignored by the "elite" media. I knew republicans would object. I am surprised at liberal objections to something they`ve known for years.

@randomxp, If you were American you`d know that the parties essentially switched positions during the civil rights struggle.

Research by dumb "liberals", maybe.

Reality, of course, shows that socialists (misnamed liberal in the the US, despite their illiberal politics) are more likely to be racist and while more likely to be intellectual that does not mean they speak any sense. Intellect has been described as intelligence minus judgement.

The KKK was set up by Democrats. Democrats opposed civil rights legislation. Senator Byrd was a Democrat Senator until he died. Liberal media accuse Tea Parties of being racist, hiding the fact that the picture is of a black man; the real racists in OWS are ignored. They call black conservatives and libertarians "uncle Tom". La Raza (it means "The Race", for Christ`s sake) is a left-wing organisation. The Nazis were socialists. The Communists were racist. The UK BNP is a socialist organisation, as is the French FN. Al Sharpton is a socialist racist. Barack Obama is a racist socialist. Affirmative action is &quo
"you characterize it like he`s promoting a Dicken`s novel workhouse."
Exactly what I believe his goal to be. Remember his Contract With America included taking children away from Welfare mothers and letting the state raise them. So much for "family values".
"Reforming SS and Medicare has to be done or it will no longer exist in 20 years"
He`s talked of getting rid of it, not "reforming it". Why not, he`s a smug elitist who has a ton of cash so his retirement isn`t in doubt.

I`d also add his Contract with America stated congress will not get any benefits average citizens don`t. But he enjoys free, universal healthcare for life, plus full retirement for a few years work. What a scam artist. Now he`d add the Presidential perks to his Golden Umberella?

Hopefully when Obama`s re-elected and has less to lose, he`ll have the balls to pull out of Afghanistan. The big risk is he`ll still manage to bankrupt the country in the process.

This president supports the racist Aztlan, La Raza, and MEChA groups in America, appointed a La Raza member, Sotomayor, for Supreme Court, and other federal judges connected to these groups.

Obama has only done these things to keep the hispanic vote in his pocket. His actions have been about blatant pandering to his leftist pro-illegal alien base in the west.

I lived in the great state of arizona for 25 years, and this guy is a drain on the county. He brags about how much he saves but cutting luxuries for prisoners, but the amount of money that goes out in lawsuits against him eats up every bit of that.

His roundups are the worst though. Everyone frets this "impending police state" but fails to see a police force rolling into a given area and questioning everyone without cause as anything but that.

As for "However, they did more right than wrong, unlike the current Prez...", I agree that Obama has done wrong, as all presidents do. It`s a matter of perspective, though, to insinuate that he`s done more wrong than right. As a Democrat, liberal atheist veteran, I have definite issues with the man, and I would say he`s done some wrong, for sure, but, he`s done plenty right. Bush II, Bush, Reagan, all did both good and bad, too. I`m actually a bigger fan of Bush the Elder than the other two on that list, but, we`ve already established that I`m a liberal. I think Clinton was the greatest president of the 20th Century, so... See? Opinion. ;-)

Point is, I can plainly see that it`s a matter of perspective and that we can ague cherry-picked "facts" all night. I`m okay with just acknowledging that that you don`t like Obama. It`s cool. I`d vote for Paul if you guys`ll nom

madest: Perhaps you should read your own link more thoroughly.

In 1996, after constructing two welfare reform bills that Clinton vetoed, Gingrich and his supporters pushed for passage of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act, which was intended to reconstruct the welfare system. The act gave state governments more autonomy over welfare delivery, while also reducing the federal government`s responsibilities. It instituted the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, which placed time limits on welfare assistance and replaced the longstanding Aid to Families with Dependent Children program.

Gingrich`s tough stance on balancing the budget resulted int the first re-election of a republican majority since 1928.

Sheriff Arapio is NOT a felon, Maricopa co. keeps re-electing him, 3 times now. The Obama Justice department has been harassing him for years and has found NOTHING, in fact what was found is that the Justice Department is NOT DOING IT`S JOB in identifying and deporting illegal immigrants.

There is also a current DOJ investigation involving corruption of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and judicial officials that tried to unseat him.

Apparently you`re just lapping up what his critics in the Phoenix New Times have reported. Btw, the Phoenix New Times, is owned by the extremely liberal Village Voice Media group. Their editor even divulged Sherrif Joe`s home address to target him for harassment at his home, a really d|ck move.

Each person has a chance to be removed after 4 years (or sooner) and we have a military that wouldnt DARE fire on its own people if ruled by a dictator. He`s pissed that the Justice department is coming down on his department for racism and civil rights abuses. His support for Arizona`s unconstitutional racial profiling law is about to go before the Supreme Court. His entire world is getting ready to crumble and this is his swan song. I suspect he has less than a year in his current position and It wouldn`t surprise me if he ends up in a pink jumpsuit from his own making.

While I agree that we need to reel in our spending, we didn`t get here, nearly here, all under Obama`s watch. Not deflecting blame where it`s due, just pointing it out. Too, Clinton was the one who shut down the government. TWICE! By refusing to sign budgets until they were less than our income. So, credit Gingrich if you want, but, the facts are pretty clear on that one.

The only thing that`s ever really concerned me, isn`t his BC or his selective service registration, it`s the fact that his social security number comes from Connecticut and he has never ever lived there. His Social Security number won`t even pass the government`s own E-Verify system and I find that extremely odd.

However, as I`ve stated before, I think it`s a distraction, one designed to make his detractors look like nuts.

There are much better, verifiable, reasons to vote to get him out of office, DDNA, Keystone pipeline refusal, Obamacare, the bailouts, the failed stimulus package and much more.
