The action in the Assassins creed games take part in models of ancient cities and features for most parts actual historical figures.

Take for example the breathtaking rendition of the Colloseum and Pantheon of ancient Rome

The plot is of course made up but its put in a real life historical setting.

If you thought that was a coincidence, you need to learn about the world you`re inhabiting.

"That`s not real life. That`s a FREAKIN PAINTING!"
"The painting is of real life."
Er... and the video game isn`t?

Neither are real life, they`re both just artistic representations of real life.

If you want to show real life, give me a real photo, not a fabricated image.

Hi Studioso:
Please don`t post pictures that are wider than the page. You can always put them in URL tags or you can always have them shrunk at Tinypic.

Your original pic link.

Assassin`s Creed was made to be pretty historically accurate on purpose, the devs spent a long time making it like that.

Using a painting of the Doge`s Palace as "the real thing" is as bad as using a computer game image. Go see the real thing for your comparison. She may not even realize that there is a real street in a real city with that architecture.

Go see the real thing. It looks so much better than a painting or video game.

If you look really closely at the GTA4 map, it looks just like Manhattan! Amazing, right?!

A painting isn`t "real freakin life". I guess some people who spend too much time on the internet wouldn`t think of that. I`ve lived in Italy for about a decade and know Rome and Venice pretty well, having lived in Rome about six years and near Venice for four, and I`m also a big fan of Assassin`s Creed, and the reproduction of these places in the game is truly stunning.

I dont get it? I would assume they would model off of something real for at least some of that stuff...is this really a shock?
