What`s that tingly feeling in my head? I think I just learned something on IAB... not used to this.

Even way back when I was a child, part of the beauty of those old cartoons was that they were made for adults and suitable for children. There are hundreds of cultural and topical allusions in the old cartoons, many more that listed there.

I was a very cultured young child. My parents would watch cartoons with me and would say, "You know where that came from?..." and then explain the reference.

I did know about Foghorn Leghorn, thanks to Stephen King. Also: Simpler times indeed. "Hodor!" is the modern "hug him and pet him and squeeze him" - I see no difference.

Ok- am I really ancient, not one of those items needed explaining to me. How can ANYONE not know what a bloody anvil is, or get the Steinbeck reference..

I`m so old, I knew 4 of these (just not who exactly inspired Foghorn Leghorn`s accent).
