That`s nice to hear considering most liberals and conservatives revile the guy.

@cajun: I`m just poking fun. Ron Paul was the least bat-sh*t crazy of the bunch, and his stance on weed is ok in my book.

When are people going to wake up and realize that the Republican and Democratic parties are no different any more? They`ll fling crap at each other in the public eye, but behind closed doors they are laughing their asses off at us for falling for it. They`re like two opposing lawyers in court...during the trail, they`ll tear the crap out of each other, but when it`s over they`ll shake hands and say "See you next time!".

"I dig how we feed the conservative trolls every once in a while to keep things interesting. Did I say interesting? I meant dramatic on a third-grade level and annoying."

I support gay marriage, abortion, legalized drugs, assisted suicide, etc etc. This isn`t a matter of left versus right. It`s a matter of wrong versus right.

intrigid: You`re correct the oil companies don`t get tax breaks for petroleum. They do however get subsidies for producing ethanol, bio-diesel, wind farms, solar energy and such.

When people say they want an end to subsidizing oil companies, those `clean energy` and `clean air` funds are the ones that would be ended.

So liberals, please make up your mind, do you want clean energy, clean air, etc, or do you want to keep deceptively villianizing the oil companies ?
If you tax the oil companies, they`ll simply pass that cost right on to the consumer.
Absolutely correct @intrigid!!!
It`s something the left utterly FAILS to understand: there is no such thing as a `corporation tax`! It is always, 100% passed on to the consumers! That`s regular folks, the very "poor" the left claims to champion, and hurt by the higher taxes the left keeps demanding.
Idiots.

And another thing. If you tax the oil companies, they`ll simply pass that cost right on to the consumer. What`s the f*cking point of doing that?

"Obama can`t control the price of gas, but he can influence it. If he takes away the tax brakes for the oil companies, we will pay for it. Oh, and he will make money off of it."

Oil companies don`t get any tax breaks. They pay huge amounts of taxes. Maybe you think they should pay higher taxes, which is an opinion you`re entitled to, but saying that they get huge tax breaks is simply ridiculous.

Why is it that people love of complain about oil companies taxes not being high enough, but NOBODY complains about General Electric, which paid NO TAXES in 2011? They avoided paying 11 BILLION dollars in taxes by hiring thousands of people to find and exploit loopholes in the tax system. Their tax return was 57,000 pages long. Tell me how any of that is reasonable.

Stop whining USA, gas prices has to go up.. Everyday there`s gonna be less of it around. It`s effing 8€ for a gallon here and nobody`s complaining about it. Get better mileage or invest in public transport.

The sad thing about people is that most just take things like this video at face value. You can clip together portions of statements to make people say anything. Doesn`t make it true or what they actually said.

He`s right though, people need to switch to more sustainable options when buying cars. The increase in taxation on petrol is forcing north Americans to reconsider their choice in vehicles. Would you rather pay less for gas now, and cause ruin later? This route forces people to come to terms with changes that they will have to make, and it does it pretty slowly. You`ve had about 5 years of increasing gas prices to reconsider your choice of transportation. America has relatively low gas prices, here with the dollar conversion and the conversion from liters to gallons, we pay about $7.50 per gallon of petrol.

@5Cats
i absolutely love when repubs brag about tv rankings and fox. you do know they only lead in cable ratings. nbc/abc/cbs DOMINATE overall tv ratings. the only reason fox is even in the picture is because mostly rich/upper-middle class white people own cable. f*cking idiots. lulz.

hypocrisy? how about showing negative media of a left wing agenda from a right wing news source followed by affirmation of the same agenda only this time from left wing media. talk about unbalanced and biased. who ever made this video and who ever posted it here are just as bad as the ones who broadcast it. if you`re left or right it doesn`t matter. you are part of the problem.

@LazyMe I was being sarcastic, since YOU said NO ONE cared about the environment under Bush. His administration was no different, no better no worse, than any other President on environmental issues, unless you`re gulping down the MSM`s kool-aid...
...despite much lower rankings
That, @Baalth, is because haters (leftists) gotta hate! It`s hardly a reflection of the quality of posts if dozens of "open minded liberals" vote "1" without even viewing it, right?

@leesah: High prices save lives! Lolz!

It`s remarkable to me how little real reporting has been done on gas prices. A barrel of oil costs less now than it did prior to the Iraq War in the `90s when gas costs half what it does now. It`s NOT a supply-and-demand issue.

Obama`s a tool of the corporate interests, as are the U.S. mainstream media. It`s a sad state of affairs.

(For the record, I`m a liberal and voted for Obama.)

Well duh, obviously Dems can do no wrong because they obviously know exactly what is the best for all of us; obviously the outrageous price of gas is the best thing for us as American Citizens so we shouldn`t look so deeply into it.

Yes AJ, We have a history of deleting radical right wing posts....

Oh no, wait, the percentage of accepted posts by our Crakr and Cats far outweigh that of virtually any other poster on the site, despite much lower rankings than most contributors.

You and your persecution complex can go cry elsewhere.

Wrong in this case blanktom. It was deleted and I put it up as soon as I noticed it had been erased. This was not done for the views. Usually political posts don`t get that many views anyway. Lots of comments doesn`t always mean high view count.
everything below the fifth post is old and isn`t worth looking at.
I wouldn`t say that, sometimes they add 10 new posts at a time, although lately they`ve been spacing them out throughout the day.

Either way, I`ve seen IAB produce 25+ posts in a day.

auburnjunky & CrakrJak, I noticed the post had magically disappeared...POOF! So I put it back up. I am sure which ever mod erased it (hmmmm I wonder who? Who would do that?) did it by accident, right?

Male 1,674
@auburnjunky nah, i think it`s all about the hits. They know that political and racial posts get the most views. They also know that people will think that, even if they were all added at the same time, everything below the fifth post is old and isn`t worth looking at. That`s why they moved this video and the video of the black kid who got shot to the top of the list. They`ll get more views that way.

how could you honestly believe this video *proves* the posters point. There`s still a lot left to interpretation and besides, there are many factors that lead to higher gas prices.

UGh! So much fail. It`s almost overloading my systems. Almost.

I see no hypocrisy here. The media just follows politics and social movements. Under Bush no one cared about the environment, under Obama there is a small sliver of pressure for sustainability, still woefully inadequate, but it makes the media change direction.

Bottom line? You still have the cheapest gas anywhere except for some countries in the ME. Also if you drive this:

You can hardly complain about gas.

...So f*ck this video.

that was one of the worst video`s ive ever seen,i dont know who put this together, but when you take clips of video`s you better put the speakers entire point in there, not just part of sentances that prove your point, ive seen alot of those news programs and when you listen to the entire thing, they arent saying gas prices are a good thing. Listen to the whole program and stop being ignorant. Obama has been(and hopefully will be) a better president than Bush ever was.
