Submitted by: jendrian 5 years ago in

It lurches through waters in a sighting a paranormal investigator thinks could prove mammoths are not extinct after all.

You know you`ve been playing too much Skyrim when your first thought after seeing this video is: "Hmm if that were a mammoth... I could have killed it with my bow by now. Also, where are the giants?"

Bear with fish; how often do you see an elephant walking through water with its trunk a) not moving, and b) under the water? Nice try.

Why do people act like the Sun is a reputable source? I may be wrong on this, and feel free to correct me, English people, but isn`t the Sun a tabloid?

That wouldn`t give them any footage and prove them wrong.

you`d think by this time with the advancements of video technology, all this grainy and blurry crap wouldn`t be a factor any more.

@Ruffiana. Very "Clear" . That word... I do not think it means what you think it means.

to all the "no tusks" people, you can see them at about sec 15

Not to say it`s real, just that it`s in the video

No. They are extinct. Definitely extinct. If thats a mammoth, it isnt born from live parents.

lol @greenbasterd. Seriously even my previous pooty phone had better resolution than what this was recorded on. I don`t get it, where do these people get those pooty cameras?

I think paranormal investigators should pool a bunch of money together and buy a few cameras that are worth half an ass.

However, I do think it`s more than a little suspicious that the only source I can find for the video is The Sun. Even all the other versions of the video that I could find were just straight reposts of The Sun`s video. It doesn`t really seem like the sort of thing a Sun journo would be smart enough to have faked this well, but without some more info about the alleged source this is a little dificult to swallow.

I`m not gonna say this is definitely a mammoth, but it`s clearly entirely the wrong shape to be a bear, with or without a "fish". The slope of the back and comparative size/shape of the head are completely wrong, and judging by the waveforms on the river, it would have to be the biggest bear ever recorded (bigger by far even than the extinct Cave Bear).
If it is indeed a genuine video (ie - not a CG`d fake), then the shape & motion would be about right for a small female mammoth. The coniferous forestry places the location well north of areas where any other elephant species are found, and the colouring closely matches frozen remnants which are still regularly found in the Siberian permafrost.
Cryptozoologists have been recording reports of extant mammoths in several remote areas of Siberia since the field was initiated, so one or two small isolated populations wouldn`t really be all that surprising, from a certain perpective.

We haven`t found Bigfoot yet, but we found his pet mammoth.
Hmm, pets really do look like their owners. He`s all blurry too.

Well if a paranormal investigator says so, it MUST be true.

Nah, probably just swamp gas or a weather balloon.

Wow, their camera has the same fuzzy out of focus affliction that all the bigfoot cameras have! Nice bear.

It would had lifted its` trunk over the river.
It`s just a bear holding on to a big stick, and someone else got their hands on the video and put it up as a mammoth.

They think it`s a woolly mammoth because of the color? I was looking for the giant non-existent tusks on the elephant. o_o

No. It`s called an elephant.

Male 17,512
It`s the Sun, so it`s possible this wasn`t even filmed in Siberia. Also note the steep muddy banks of the river, could just be a mud covered asian elephant. Woolly mammoths were known for their larges tusks as well, don`t see them in this video.

If it`s not shopped; probably a bad film of an elephant which some idiot thinks was filmed in Siberia, because there`s obviously no forests with rivers running though them anywhere in Africa or southern Asia. No, not even lots.

I obtained a still photo of this, it is a little blurry, but you can clearly see it is a mammoth.

Why are these videos always so blurry and shaky? Also one would think that if you saw a mammoth crossing a river you wouldn`t stop filming halfway through. You`d do anything possible to get a closer look.
