@artmunki

It was about a decade with the Beatles, a decade with Wings, and a listing in Guinness as the most successful musician and composer in popular music history. He`s been making music for 30+ years. That`s a pretty impressive musical output.

@TheGodofFail

First, you can be a fan of someone`s music and not exactly agree with everything they say or do. Second, you may know who Paul McCartney is, but you use the word "Fail" in a manner in which it isn`t supposed to be used. Doing so perpetuates the continued problem of this generation. You wouldn`t be missed.

It`s not a matter of being old or not, it`s a matter of being ignorant. These are probably the same people posting poo about the Kardashians and "omgz did yall see how bad ass that performance was #lilwayne"

<sarcasm> Yeah not knowing who Paul McCartney is is definitely the issue here, not a bunch of asshats that cant be bothered to type it in a search engine but have the time to post about their ignorance for everyone else to see. </sarcasm>

*Its the current generations responsibility to impart knowledge on the next generation. If the next generation is ignorant, then a big part of is the current geneations fault. Think about it, why would young people know who Paul McCartney is if nobody tells them or introduces them to his music? I`m willing to bet good money that there are plenty of musicians around these days that the older generation don`t know the names off,despite the fact they hear them every single day, now that is real ignorance.

You have a point here, but we also live in a world where you can look something up on the internet in 10 seconds flat.

Well, let`s be honest - he had like a seven-year career in (probably) the biggest band of all time, and since then ... not much really. In fact, since then all he`s really acheived is outliving the other Beatles (who aren`t Ringo). His musical output certainly hasn`t been all that impressive. And bear in mind that those successful years were over well before the vast majority of IABers were born.

Don`t get me wrong - the Beatles were great and I do have a lot of respect for Sir Paul, but it`s hardly surprising that pop-loving kids today don`t know who he is. After all, they don`t know the difference between good music and corporate product.

Most in the recent generation seem to abhor anything with any actual cultural relevance while at the same time worshipping pop garbage. Congrats and high fives to any folk under 25 that respect the previous generations and the marks they made on music and art; You are giving me hope for the future.

Hey, Notorious. If you were a true Beatles fan, then you wouldn`t kill everybody under the age of 18, or anybody. Also, I`m under 18 and I know who Paul McCartney is. He`s one of the four in one of The best bands I`ve ever heard.

TL;DR, drat you, I know who Paul McCartney is.

I don`t mind ignorance, but people are way too proud of it. The other day a girl was telling me she didn`t know who Whitney Houston was and therefore she doesn`t care because she`s obviously not important.

I could have taken the ACT when I was 4. Doesn`t mean I`m smart. Means I took the ACT when I was 4.

on a positive note:
last month at the local record store, i watched a 5 year old boy walk past "Abbey Road", which doesn`t even have a title or name printed on it. he pointed to it, grabbed his mom`s sleeve and said "MOM LOOK! THE BEATLES!"
i shook his hand and told his mother that her child gave me slight hope for the future yet.

member of the Beatles, one of the most influential bands in music. one of the founding fathers of rock. you cannot be a true audiophile and not at least heard mention of the Beatles. this is why we have such crap in music today. no one bothers to learn about the roots of their craft.
