oddly it`s not really pro mormon, more like a propaganda speech to incite riot. i do wonder how many believe this is real. and it does go to show you how each religion has to re-write history to favor and answer all the questions. odd how everyone looked like hitlers ideal.

Makes at least as much sense as all the other religions. If you are making up a story why not make it interesting?

I wish it said how close was the vote of jesus v.s. satan? Just think, I could have been a god if it went the other way. Oh, the fun I would have. First thing the god me would have done is create me a few dozen wives...but I digress.

As an exmormon myself, I`ll admit I don`t remember much about the church, but some of this stuff just sounds stupid.
I haven`t been in 10 years, because I found it boring as hell.

@thelonious (and others) I did say that this video is in many aspect very twisted and do not reflect any official teachings, even the ones in the earlier days (1800`s). Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mormons) has a way better description. From my personal research on this video, it was made by some people who were members of the church and turned against it afterwards. On a side note, I am Mormon (well, LDS) too, and I will not explain any "poo" about this video :) ..Or maybe one about the black people passage (who seems to be the most controversial); this "doctrine" was never approved, period, and everyone found teaching it was reprimanded. And the Mormon (LDS) church does have an extensive litterature and history records... (BTW, "our" Satan may not be as colorful as the chatholic one, but I can assure you that he`s as cunning as their`s :))

Wait so superman was a Mormon? I`m confused.

PS Their version of Satan is boring as poo. Give me Catholic Satan any day! Taking over bodies, making your head spin, crawling on ceilings! metal.

etc...

I had a girlfriend once which was a total christian, myself as an agnostic didnt really give a flying drat so I was fine with it...she eventually got sucked into a mormon church out in the boonies and holy jumpin poo was she drated up. I came home for work to find my dog in box in the closet...when confronted she said.. "well its not like it has a soul!". Her new bf/husband is unkind to her in ways shes willing to tolerate, even talking to non-mormons is a sin, and i not even gonna get into the racist/sexist/class system that they practice. freaky.

This video was made by Jeremiah Films and was intended to insult Mormons. Not made by Mormons. They also have videos about the horrors of baby parts trafficking and pagan Halloween.

deathcab: Most mormons aren`t taught these things anymore, but they used to be taught and these secrets are kept away from the normal flock. The cartoon was produced in the 1960`s, by mormons, as an illustrative way of explaining those secrets. Secrets that are not included in the book of mormon.

In this way, Scientology is secretive as well. novice scientologists don`t believe any of the Xenu secrets exist either, it isn`t until after a member has spent a lot of money and rose through many levels is that part of Hubbard`s SciFi story revealed.

I`m Mormon, and I approve of this video. :) Although, as usual with things like these, it messes up the story. The defected 1/3 from before we`re not cursed to be black. And other small things but fiction can be so much more entertaining than the truth, so I won`t bother correcting anymore.

@PringleMan LOLOLOLOL

I wish I was allowed to ask what people believe (not what religion they are, but what they actually BELIEVE) when I interview job seekers or service providers.

You`re a Christian doctor? You believe that an imaginary friends cures all and if you`re imaginary friend isn`t on our side then my wife will die in surgery?

You`re a Muslim teacher/child carer? You believe you are supposed to forcibly convert every person, suppress the rights of girls to study, cut off their labia and you want me to put you in charge or my kids?

You`re a Christian therapist? You don`t believe in evolution, tectonic theory, dinosaurs, you think the world is 6,000 years old, you speak to a god that nobody can see, and sometimes you claim to hear his voice and you think I need therapy?

You`re a mormon/scientologist fund manager? You still believe a proven charlatan and that whole crazy story and you want me to trust you to invest my life savings?

This is old and certainly a repost of a repost, but I still can`t get over how people of any day and age would believe this or Scientology. With Christianity, Judaism and Islam I understand why, because ancient people were ignorant and ignorant traditions have a way of being passed down by ignorant people when the penalty for not believing is to be shunned or murdered. I`m not suer why Buddhism is still believed, but at least Buddhism does more good than harm.

@lordfoobar: But wasn`t the whole Jesus and Lucifer are brothers thing so gratifying to see? It was like, um, oh I don`t know, Cain and Able but on a grander scale. I like my religious "facts" to be like some kind of back-referenced joke that had a really good set-up.

deathcad4aj:

If you eat sausage, you are better off not knowing the inner workings of sausage factories, and if you are a Christian, that of the Christian church.

the same can be said for Mormans as well...

aspects of the video are truly what mormons believe, but much of it is not, and has never been. I have read countless books on mormon history, most of the stuff here has never been official doctrine of the mormon church.

the mormoms have changed their teachings over the decades but THIS IS how is started.

you have to expect that any recently made up religion will go through changes

and YES this is EXACTLY what moroms used to teach about brown people and back people.

do some research on your religion and you will see all this is true.

"I love when someone posts batpoo crazy stuff about religion. It draws out the defenders of the faith who will calmly explain that they don`t believe the batpoo crazy things in the video. Then they proceed to explain the batpoo crazy things that they really do believe in."

My thoughts exactly. Oh, we don`t believe in that, we just believe in a con artist who made all this poo up for his own personal gain.

I don`t know where this video came from, but I am Mormon and a lot of this is NOT what Mormons believe....We do believe in the celestial and that we literally originated from the heavens (planets in other galaxies). We also believe strongly in the science of evolution...which is more than most Christian religions can accept.

This video is so old, this is nothing new I-A-B... really.... and I cannot count the many errors in it. If anyone is really interested about an objective point of view on Mormonism, I believe Wikipedia is probably one of the best sources (of objective definition).
