"How do you expect the police to react? Stand there and yell " DO you have low blood sugar? We need to know before we do anything" "

Yes, you knuckle-dragging, tongue-wagging retard. That is exactly what police officers are supposed to do. They are employed to protect all citizens.

no reason for them to exist whatsoever, the police force causes more problems than it solves

Beating him was excessive. The man wasn`t doing anything, this is a reason to be wary but not to actively kick someone. The only excuse for this sort of behavior is if someone is physically punching. If an officer is punched, beat the hell out of the guy. This guy could barely stand.

I watched that video of the guy with the hammer getting shot... and I thought "Yeah, guy needed to be shot. Good going." With this though, it is not the case. Police were in the wrong.

Why didn`t every single officer get fired?

"We are reviewing our training procedures"

WTF? Dragging a lifeless man out of a car and beating/kicking him. How can that in any way be related to "bad training"?

Tard police trained by tard teachers in tard country to make news in the "free" tarded press.

Go on `murikah! The amazement will never end!

I love how many people in this "thread" are completely ignorant to the symptons of low blood sugar.

As someone pointed out earlier, whn you have low blood sugar, you basically act as if you are drunk and have almost no control over what you are doing.

How do you expect the police to react? Stand there and yell " DO you have low blood sugar? We need to know before we do anything"

It`s just astouding how many stupid people post on this site and try to look cool by following the tired old saying " F uck the police"

What was so wrong about that?
Maybe the kicking was a bit excessive but that`s about all. I mean the officers did think he was drunk and if a drunk had any weapon on him or her it would be a very messy situation

Nothing about that was appropriate.. not one single thing throughout that whole episode was done in accordance. (maybe laws are a little different?)

There was no reason to kick the poor guy. On the other hand it`s lucky they happened to stop him before he or others ended up dead.

And the fact that is was recorded on the "cop cam" means that these idiots get 2 weeks off with pay. I would expect to sue these morons for everything they own, Not the city or police dept, the aholes that did this, and I want to kick that MoFo that kicked the guy near the end, right in the balls, 6 times

Yup , typical, 6 rednecks with guns taking down 1 person. I really like the last ahole cop that just walks up and starts kickin the guy in the head. Just imagine if he comes home and mom says to her son/daughter . Look , that`s daddy kicking the crap out of someone. What a prime example of allowing police to much power without responsibility. Notice the prick cop on the right takes off and so does the bitch riding with him. Then they have to laugh at finding a can of sugar fix in the car. All those non-nice individuals should be shot. NV cops are amoungst the worst idiots allowed to carry a gun. Their iq is about as big as their shoe size

@jamie76, actually - this is what the "news" has become in this country. A rational person would see that there is only one side of the story being told here. When someone intentionally omits part of a story, it calls into suspect what they do tell. I`m not saying there aren`t good cops and bad cops (the guy kicking seems to be a bad cop) but i`m just saying you have to be smart about what you do and don`t believe from the media. The media doesn`t *Report* news they sensationalize it.

i`m not excusing this by any means, but this is why you should always wear a medi-alert bracelet, no matter what your condition. even if you just wear contact lenses.

THIS is what police in this country have become.

those officers should be charged with

A. Brutality
B. Criminal Negligence (they are suppose to know how to assess and handle medical emergencies and due to their actions they injured a person that required first responder services...this is THE definition of the term)
C. Being giant douchebags (okay there isn`t a law about that but if there was they would be in mx security.

So yea, my boss at my old job was diabetic. When his blood sugar went low he would act like he was drunk and get very belligerent.

HE told us a story once about how he was driving home and felt his blood sugar drop so he pulled over to the side of the road and blacked out. NExt thing he remembered he was in the back of the cop car. Aparently a police office went to check on him and my boss punched the cop in the face. Fortunetelling the cop saw his medical bracelet and knew what to do.

So my take on this was, the driver did not pull over and was driving with low blood sugar. He probably didn`t have a bracelet on (otherwise the news reporter would have mentioned it). So the cops see someone driving erratically, slurred speech and belligerent.

It`s an unfortunate situation but i honestly think the cops weren`t as guilty as they are made out to be.

Good evening sir, I noticed that your driving is a little erratic. Have you been drinking? Unable to give a clear answer? Perhaps you have a medical problem. How can we help you? Maybe you`ve had a stroke or are diabetic. I`ll call a medic for you Sir. That`s not a problem Sir, we`re specially trained to deal with this sort of incident.

The others were handling it when captain assh*le walks in and starts kicking him.

On the other hand, I think I`d be pretty forgiving after about three hundred grand too.

I don`t care whether a suspect`s drunk, high, or in insulin shock. NOTHING gives an officer the right to call a suspect a mother facker while kicking him/her on the ground.
This is what happens when law enforcement is a low-paying, low-prestige job. Best and Brightest? Not likely...
(And yes, there are exceptions. Mad props to the GOOD police officers out there. You deserve colleagues better than this)

My dad wears a bracelet with his diabetic information and when his sugar drops too low he looks intoxicated :( It`s why we hassle him so much to keep his sugar level, I`m so scared that something like this could happen! What if they don`t check his info?

It might have been a misunderstanding but there was no need to get that many officers involved with that much force.

"Is it legal for your police to scavenge the pockets of citizens and search the car without permission? Just asking." Apparently it is...though it shouldn`t be what with all our "rights" we supposedly have. These police need to be fired and our police need to stop with their alpha male bully mentalities. You`re not a hard ass if you are kicking a restrained man in ribs and head. I`m ashamed of the police force (in my town as well as these men on camera). Obviously not all cops are like this, but enough of them are for it to be a problem.

Ass holes.

Yeah, they had no way of knowing it was a diabetic fit so I get why the first two took him too the ground. But if you already have 2 or 3 officers on him, you don`t need 3 or 4 more, one kicking him in the head. That`s the bully mentality that attracts ass holes to law enforcement jobs.

I watched it again and I guess I only looked at the first kick, I was more focused on the guy himself. Yeah ok the kicks weren`t needed.

I saw where the one officer kicked him, which was probably unnecessary, but it`s possible he was moving around and they interpreted it as resisting. It`s very difficult to not move when your blood sugar is low. Also, the cops seemed to be very agitated before the video, especially with the gun drawn and whatnot. I`m not saying they should have given him the boots, but I myself have done some weird things when not in control of my faculties.

@patchgrabber, so beating you up for having a diabetic shock would`ve been the right response from the cops? I don`t know if you said what you wanted to said, or I didn`t understand what you wanted to say

Well of course he was able to forgive them and move on, he got $300,000 to move on. I wouldn`t feel too bad about it either if it were me.

I didn`t really see the police doing anything wrong. I`m a type 1 diabetic, and if your blood sugar goes too low you act essentially like a drunk. It`s also nearly impossible to exercise fine motor control of your muscles, which would explain erratic driving and apparent resisting of arrest. I went low driving once, and my foot was either to the floor or not on the gas at all.
