I`ve always had a problem with these cancer hangers on. You would think, after all the money poured into reserch, they would have come up with some better ideas by now. No? something fishy going on? yes.

There is a reason you see breast cancer stuff all over normal products and rarely to never see any other kinds of cancer. There is a study that shows when people see Breast Cancer they focus on Breast not on Cancer. It is basic marketing. It allows companies to subtly sell sex on innocuous products like soup and blenders.

And it sucks so much money into breast cancer that it arguably *increases* the amount of preventable death because the losses to other diseases (including other forms of cancer) are greater than the ever-diminishing gains from throwing ever-increasing amounts of money at only one form of cancer. Even for people who don`t care about men dying, it`s still something to think about because plenty of women die from things other than breast cancer.

Pretty much all your cancer donated money goes to this crap. My aunt has cancer in her throat. There is a special surgery with a very high success rate but her insurance would only cover chemo. She only was able to get 40,000 of the 80,000 dollars she needed so she had to stick with the chemo. The chemo was also successful but it has put her in bed for months and she has lost all taste and she may never get it back. She has throat sores and can only eat very small amounts of food at a time. Your donations to cancer goes to promote Chemo instead of supporting other safer proven forms of fighting cancer. My aunt is fine, but it was a lot worse than it should have been.

Why does it have to be just breast cancer, why not a universal cancer fund

    something fishy going on? yes

Yes, there is something fishy going on. The pharma companies make billions for cancer research, and the cosmetics industry makes billions producing products which causes cancer...and guess who owns the cosmetics companies? The pharma companies.

It`s like melanoma. The pharma companies push sunscreen to protect you from the sun...and it`s the sunscreen that`s causing cancer.

Wow, imagine that - mainstream charities being a huge commercial rip-off.

And in breaking news, sky is blue...

It`s always been obvious to me that Komen is nothing but a money scheme. Donate to the American Cancer Society instead.

Most fundraising org`s are money schemes. Even donating to the Cancer Society most of your money goes to administration anyway, although it is better than fundraising organizations.

"its like people profit from our disease"

Well, duh. There are entire industries: health care, pharmaceuticals, etc...

Just wait until you die then there are mortuaries and cemeteries, coffin makers, etc... that profit from your dead body.

    You expected something different?
