This look highly effective, but it"s also probably a great way to start your day off wrong.

I got one of these, and broke the propeller off the annoing little f*#$er the very next morning. Definitely not the way to start my day.

I remember seeing one a few years ago that was a cube, and broke into 5 pieces, and you had to put it back together for the alarm to stop.

I thought a new development needed to be new. These have been around for years.

Received one of these for christmas a couple years back. It went off early on a saturday which is my day off, and I couldn`t find the propellor, so I smashed it to little bits and cut my hand.

Didn`t end up going back to sleep... these things are evil I tell you.

To those saying you wouldn`t hear it when it`s now flown away, etc. - no I think they mean the base is what makes noise, but it won`t stop until you put the top back in. If the top doesn`t make noise, that`s why it`s hard to find.

Or, you could take the batteries out/unplug it....probably what I`d do in half-asleep frustration at the noise

@Squrlz That seems pretty cool, but I don`t have $78 to spend on a damn alarm clock.

It would be really bad if you sleep with your window open and it takes off, landing on the back of some guy`s truck.

OK, this is going to seem a little dumb, I`m sure, but here goes: My fellow IABers, have you heard about the wake-up light alarm clock? I just got one of these and it`s life-changing. It`s turning me into an early-riser, and I love it. I wish to heck I`d known about these years ago. If YOU don`t know about these, or if you want to see the one I bought, click here. (No, I don`t get paid for promoting these things, but I wish I did.) That is all, Mr. Squrlz, signing out.

wouldn`t finding the clock make you late? and if it flies away, would you be able to hear the alarm? my ceiling fan will destroy it.

Lol I have one of those. What really sucks is if you can`t find the damn thing...

I prefer the one with a bag that hangs from the ceiling which activates the snooze. Each time you hit it, it goes up a little bit higher, until you have to stand to reach it.

I wonder how many people just tied a string to it.

my friend sets three alarms in increments of 5 minutes each. The first next to him, the next across the room, and the last in the bathroom. Once you are in the bathroom, you pretty much use it anyways.

@darkmagic14n if it`s anything like the (obviously broken) one I had, the spinny part doesn`t even go up very high so that`s not something to worry about.

they had one before called clocky that ran away and you had to find it

this helicopter one probably isn`t a good idea if you have a ceiling fan

"To turn off the alarm, you`ll have to get up, find it & return it to the base."

Either that or fly into a sleep-deprived psychotic rage and smash the damn beeping base station into a million pieces.

I had one of these before. It was impossible get it to stop even when I put the spinning part back on.
