I think there is a point where you are so shocked about something that you just laugh and can`t act upset, but if I was that guy I would be crapping bricks about what I would do about my property. There will be some hefty work that has to be done to the house itself after the garbage is cleared out, who knows how much money he lost on that, and clearly the woman won`t be reimbursing him for any of it. Guess the real lesson here is don`t rent out your property or check on it more often.

@KR_Zanki The video does have a warning. The actual title of the video on youtube is: "Crazy Garbage Feces Hoarders House - Viewer Discretion Advised"

I really hope that woman went somewhere safe where she could get help. This isn`t laziness. It`s a mental illness. I feel bad for both of them, really.

I don`t know who to feel worse for here; him, her, the dead cat?

The woman`s obviously got some serious psychological problems. On the other hand, I haven`t the slightest idea how you`d even begin to clean that. Even in a hazmat suit, that poo tower is going to be scarring to have to clean.

I don`t know how he can stay so composed and cheerful in this video. Sure, he`s gotten over the initial shock of it, but a feces monument..?

Poor guy... now he has to deal with all this before he can rent the house again.

Even if he sued her for damage to the property, that`s still a lot of work, and she might be bankrupt anyway... so he wouldn`t get anything.

Life as a landlord... ... and by his age I think its likely the property is under a mortgage too.

I know enough lazy people to understand the never throwing stuff away or cleaning. However, I`ll never understand the smell part or the pile of poo in the bathroom. That was beyond gross.

Does he sound like Kenneth from 30 Rock to anyone else?

I honestly don`t know why he would let here stay. If that was my house, I`d have kicked her out too.

I`d then call in a specialist cleaning team to deal with the toxic waste.

Yes he may have seemed very casual about it but if you don`t handle it as "one of those things!" then you`d break down in dispair.

I managed rentals for 15 years and saw some pretty disgusting stuff but no where as bad as this. Needless to say I no longer do rentals.

so she moved out and left everything behind? she had money for booze and pizza?

i don`t see this has hording, because it`s mostly garbage that would normally accumulate if you choose to just drop it on the floor. she could have sold the tv, and some of the other stuff for money. i doubt it`s fake, and yet at the same time, considering his calmness, the story doesn`t just add up for me.

I`m amazed he walked in there in what looks like a t-shirt and jeans/shorts. I think I`d be wearing a full hazardous-material suit and gas mask before I even cracked the door open.

Wow...just, wow. I can`t *begin* to imagine how someone can live like that. I mean, hoarding stuff like books and papers and knick-knacks is one thing. But when your whole living space is ankle-deep or more in trash and you`re pooing in the bathtub (rendering it useless for taking a bath or shower) and stacking used TP against the sink (rendering it useless for washing your hands), that goes way beyond anything I could ever hope to understand.

Wow. I have to commend this guy on his easy-going attitude. If I had a mortgage on that house, I would be sitting on a chair somewhere with my face in my lap.

This is almost exactly what my Dad`s house looked like the last 8 years of his life. The only difference is since he didn`t have plumbing, he shat in a cardboard box near the trailer door, which would leak all over the linoleum floor (what you could see of it) and newspapers when it was warm out. It was quite horrifying. Whoops, spoke too soon. The Toilet Paper Monument looks about correct.

I`m just shocked he can be so cavalier about it. I would be...utterly and entirely enraged by this woman treating my house like this. How do you even start to clean this? Who do you call? Hope he had some sort of damage deposit, but hell if it`s going to cover that.

Man, this isn`t even like the nutbars who collect 20 tons of "stuff" because they love clothes, dolls, knickknacks, lampshades, whatever. This is just garbage and crap that she couldn`t stand to throw away.
It`s also an abject lesson in why landlords should occasionally visit their properties and not just assume everything`s fine because the rent checks arrive.

My sister has schizophrenia and her living conditions can deteriorate towards this state when unmonitored. Unfortunately, even under court ordered commitment the agency given authority over her does nothing in helping her learn essential skills. I suspect the evicted woman is in serious need of care.

He says that the room with the books is about the same as the last time he saw it. Therefore he has probably been there within 7 years.

I think if all that junk accumulated over the time she lived there the monument would have been a lot larger...

What a compassionate human being he must be... I know it`s "not his problem", but that woman obviously needed some kind of help.. Instead he threw her out on the street..

"I wish I could say I`m shocked, but I watch hoarders and hoarding: buried alive - I`ve actually seen much worse. "

So you must have been thinking what I was thinking: She hasn`t moved out yet. The hoarders don`t abandon their stuff, especially when it`s in perfect working condition...looks more like she went out for pizza.

So, is it same to assume he`s mocking someone who has a diagnosable mental issue and who is now homeless?

Sucks your property was left in such disarray - maybe you should check on your tenants a little more often than once every seven years.

Well there was a few instances where I thought I might throw up just watching that..... But really, the guy let her live there for I think it was 7 years, and never noticed the progression of this mess?! I`m sure a mess like that doesn`t just accrue overnight!
