My comments are all to people commenting here:

1) "get a room" - really? One`s just come home from the war and is being given a welcome home kiss and hug! You object to all the photos/footage where it`s a man coming home to a woman from the war? No?

2) "Yuk. Gay" - yes, you`re very witty and smart.

3) "We know who the girl is!" "We know who the taker is!" ... gay relationships don`t work like that.

Grow up you idiots.

Of course I don`t want to deny him any rights! He can marry any woman he wants!

Of course, he can`t marry a man any more than I can platypus a chartreuse. How about that, words mean things! It`s not a right to redefine words, it`s just stupid.

I don`t care that he`s with a man but regs say a warm embrace and a single short kiss are all that is appropriate in uniform regardless of who your doing it with

I feel uncomfortable when male-female couples do this same thing.
There`s a place for everything, but the `coming home` is certainly the time, so I`m okay with it?

"Wondering if that soldier is a woman"

Women rarely have male pattern baldness. Regardless, they`re not allowed to have the male crew cut hairstyle anyway. It`s a dude. The marine`s have desk jockey`s too, the ass is probably the result of one such job.

The legs around the hips is a little much for me, but there`s not a thing wrong with it. As men we find homosexuality unnerving because it willingly puts a male in the role of the submissive, which is uncomfortable for us because of our little male power fantasies. Clearly this guy is comfortable enough with his masculinity not to need to be viewed as dominant all the time. Bravo, and welcome home.

@ lostinkorea...hahahahah. cute.
Okay, The first post you did didn`t scan well, I didn`t get your meaning. As for them finding reasons, I served in the Marine Corps before DADT and witnessed a Lesbian Witch Hunt on my base. They did have to have proof, it went to a court before they could toss you out.

But beside that, okay, I get your meaning. We sync....sweetheart

PDA restrictions in uniform during send offs and homecomings are always relaxed. You`d be fine with this if that was a plain clothes woman jumping into the arms of a dress blues male coming off of a deployment. Any other time it`s uncalled for, but there it`s allowed. As such, time to get desensitized.

Navy sailor here..
I completely support gay people and their rights, but this wouldn`t be acceptable even if this couple was straight. I think jumping and wrapping your legs around your partner is a little over the PDA line.

Yeah, Gerry said DADT was a disaster. Not the DADT repeal. You said it wasn`t a disaster, but apparently assumed gerry was talking about the DADT repeal for some odd reason. He`s gay you know? He reads what you type word for word, as do I, and we both determine you think DADT was a good thing.

No, I said the repealing of DADT was NOT a disaster like some thought it was going to be....

""Maj. Shannon McCrory has been serving for 17 years and has been a member of HRC for 10 years. This, however, was the first time that he attended one of the group`s annual dinners, and he did so in his uniform. McCrory said his post-DADT experience so far has been "fairly positive." He has not come out publicly in his office, but he has with others in his life. "I think a lot of people know us and knew we were there, and they`re just happy that they can get to know us for who we are versus having to live a sheltered life,".Michael Subra, an active-duty servicemember who has been with the
He called Sept. 20 a "good day," but said he didn`t come out publicly at work."But it was really just an ordinary day for me because I didn’t act or do anything different on that day at work," said Subra.""

WTF are you talking about Lostinkorea? You say DADT WASN`T a disaster, yet provide a link that supports an estimated 363 million dollars lost due to the policy as a result of separating already trained gays on nothing more than the fact they`re gay, and retraining replacements.

I joined the military almost eleven years ago. I was in the military for over half the lifespan of DADT. I can say with certainty when I first joined, we barely tolerated gays ONLY because, there was the whole Osama bin Lada thing going on. Prior to 9-11 I could easily see where that 363 million dollars lost came from.

@ lostinkorea

Prior to DADT the military had to have actual proof you were gay to kick you out. Under DADT all they had to have was someone claim you said so. No proof, just his word against yours. More people were kicked out during DADT than before even though the idea of DADT was to protect gays in the military.

But you were right about one thing, "People always talking about poo they know NOTHING about"
Look in the mirror much?

Let me tell you something sweetheart. They don`t need hard proof to kick you out. If they want you out then they will "find" a reason to kick you out or make your life so miserable that you won`t re-up. In my company alone, we have 3 gay guys and guess what....they were gay during DADT and they are still gay now that it`s been repealed. And (gasp), they`re still in the military....

Quit w

"I prefer DADT. It`s OK if you`re gay Marine but you don`t have to act like a fairy."

I hope for your sake, and the sake of any taxpayers/medical insurers that if you called that marine a fairy to his face, the training he received to exercise due restraint supercedes the training he no-doubt received that would make him quite capable of breaking things in your body that you didn`t even know you had.

His partner, however...well, we don`t know if he`s military or not. So who knows if he`s bound by similar restraint. And he looks tough. Very tough.

Do you fancy your chances?

"God bless em, it`s their business to be in love and express their love just like anyone else and I wouldn`t think of suggesting anything different, but I`m not gonna lie about it. Just makes me a bit uncomfortable."

Here`s the thing, and this is what gets you my utmost respect; you don`t have to be comfortable with it. You just have to realise that you have no right to force other people to stop doing what makes you uncomfortable. And you do realise that.

The discomfort just makes you human.
Silencing your discomfort to avoid stepping on someone else makes you a decent human.

Bigots are the people who can`t handle the discomfort they feel, so they attempt to force others to stop doing what causes the discomfort.

First, much respect to any US soldier and their families. Man, woman, gay, straight, doesn`t matter to me.

But, this weirds me out...and I`m not sure why. I`m not weirded out by two women locking lips, but seeing two guys snogging makes the old inner monologue say "Ew".

God bless em, it`s their business to be in love and express their love just like anyone else and I wouldn`t think of suggesting anything different, but I`m not gonna lie about it. Just makes me a bit uncomfortable.

DADT was a disaster. It was actually better for gays in the military before DADT. But of course, just openly accepted is best.
____

Okay Cindy Jacobs, whatever! And for the record, it was NOT a disaster. The day it was repealed, do you wanna know what happened the next day?

......
.......
........

Nothing! It was business as usual. Wanna know why? We already (at least in my community) already know the people that are gay/lesbian and it doesn`t make a difference. They still didn`t "come out" and I`m sure they won`t anytime soon. And that`s their choice, this was really symbolic more than anything....

People always talking about poo they know NOTHING about....
