Newt Gingrich Slams `Open Marriage` Question

Submitted by: kitteh9lives 5 years ago in

Should a man that left the mother of his children, when she was struggling with cancer, even use the word "despicable"?

I`m also dismayed that people like you are swallowing this bait hook, line and sinker.

I didn`t join the `birther`s` against Obama nor the `truthers` against Bush. Once people realize that such `reporting` is made to smear, destroy, and distract, the better off we all will be.

Crakrjak, I`m curious why you are getting so worked up trying to defend this cheater. Are you a cheater and can relate to him? What gives? It`s weird how hard you are working at this when everything points to you being wrong.

Crakr I do NOT take statements at face value. Such comments could even be a response to the interview recently conducted. MAYBE they`re right, conversely if you were to say the opposite were true Newt requested the divorce and Battley filed the papers I`d still have my suspicions.

Cajun: She asked for the divorce, it doesn`t matter who files the papers first. And Yes, verbal statements DO MATER, especially if your going to be use them in a salacious hit piece as a reporter.

Did it matter who ran to your mom and told first ? Maybe in your family it did, but not in mine.

FoolsPrussia:
I am aware.
If you were truly `aware` we wouldn`t be having this disagreement. What Clinton did with Monica wasn`t illegal, the fact that he lied about it is illegal.
You don`t know much about how divorce lawyers can manipulate things do you ?
Here`s what I see:
1)Newt, HUSBAND, the PLAINTIFF, filed for divorce!
2)Battley, later (as you mentioned) RESPONDED asking for alimony.

Any manipulation in these documents would amount to PERJURY, thus Gingrich should not be running for president. As for your ranking, that is strictly a matter of OPINION.

Verbal statements don`t mean anything in the eyes of the law. Gingrich filed for divorce not Battley, end of story.

"Again, Clinton was prosecuted for PERJURY, not adultery, and he was impeached for PERJURY. He lied to a federal judge, that has consequences."

I am aware. But Newt Gingrich even carried on with an affair at the very same time that he was carrying on with the Clinton impeachment. If you can`t see the hypocrisy in that then you deserve to have your own country with Newt Gingrich leading you into a Dickensian nightmare. Just don`t elect him here.

I can`t say who is telling the truth between Newt and his ex-wife. Marriages are complicated. All I know is that Newt cheated on her and that he went after Bill Clinton strongly for doing the same thing. That is the height of hypocrisy.

Gerry: No, we don`t agree. The misuse of the word `vacation` by liberals to cover for Obama`s nonfeasance is disingenuous.

He`s not unlike the movie character `Biff Tannen` expecting others to do his work for him and take the blame if things fail.

16 people, Phil Carter, Greg Craig, Matthew Hoh, Anita Dunn, Ellen Moran, Yosi Sergant, Melissa Hathaway, Susan Crawford, Steve Rattner, Van Jones, Mark Lippert, Peter Orszag, Chistina Romler, Larry Summers, Rahm Emanuel and Bill Daley have all resigned from the Obama administration. Most of them fall guys for Obama`s failed policies.

In comparison GW Bush had only 9 people resign in 8 years, and most of them happened right after 9/11 (before October 2002).

vacation - Noun:
An extended period of recreation, esp. one spent away from home or in traveling.

Please note the "away from home" part. Obama`s `home` is in Chicago, not Hawaii.

I`m sure you completely dismissed what Obama`s preacher said in the pulpit, on several occasions, and the scandals with Tony Rezko, Rahm Emanuel, and Rod Blagojevich, not to mention his tutelage by terrorist Bill Ayers.

If that wasn`t enough, Obama has the worst economic record of any president to date and just violated the constitution by making illegal appointments.

@ CrakrJak, okay we`ll just ignore facts.
Obama has more vacation time `cause he has 61 vacation days and Bush only took 180. 61 is more than 180 in your world.

If you live in Washington, and you work in Washington, then going to Crawford texas is a vacation... like having a lake home. Just because you own it does not mean your time on the lake is not vacation.

Crakr...I know you`re smarter than this. You WANT to believe Obama is wrong so badly you`ll believe anything despite evidence or fact. Really, dude, I know you`re smarter than that.

I`m reposting. It is the core of what Gingrich did that makes him such a scumbag. Newt`s reaction to his wives cancer and MS scares are just added knives to their side. Even if those are removed his infidelities are what makes him someone that American citizens should not trust:

Gingrich cheated on his first wife of 18 years and the mother of his children. Left her in 1980 and married the woman he was cheating with. Then cheated on this second wife. Left her in 2000 and married the woman he was cheating with. And he`ll cheat on her too if he hasn`t already.

No hypocrisy here, Newt didn`t keep this a secret, it`s old news that ABC is trying to renew and spin. It`s a total provable lie. His first wife NEVER HAD CANCER, His second DOESN`T HAVE MS. Those two falsehoods alone should relegate this hatchet job right into the trash can, but no, they took the lies even further saying he left both of them when they were ill.

He did cheet on his first wife.
He did dump her in the cancer ward of the hospital on mothers day.
He then cheeted on his second wife.
He proceded to dump her after doctors diagnosed her with MS and said not to give her any stress.
He`s currently on wife number 3 and procedes to tell other people about the sanctity of marriage.

It doesn`t matter who wins the Republican nomination. Obama may be a lame duck President (up for debate), but he`s probably a better option than any of the currect contingent of f*cking moonbats that the Republicans have to offer. He’ll be re-elected.

On one hand, you`ve got Santorum, with his equating gay marriage with polygamy. On the other hand, you got Newt wanting (apparently) to be a polygamist. Take Newt: Strong stance on family razy values, right? Yet he`s on his third marriage. I won`t even bother delving into the other sh*t, such as his two divorces. Hey, he left his wife on her deathbed with cancer all the while dicking his help... anyways, not important. Sanctity of Marriage is what we`re talking about here, right?

The POINT is, people are more intelligent than the powers that be take them for, you mark my word on that. And all those people have a vote. And vote they will.

It`s just like Bill Maher says. When the Republicans get caught "with their pants down", or being outright wrong, they never apologize or admit it in any way. In fact, they double down on it. Newt just pulled a classic example. Instead of showing humility or shame or remorse, he just threw it right back in the moderator`s face.

"The label "Liberal Media" is not true. Studies show an actual conservative leaning. But it`s good for the GOP to use that label every time they get bad press."

The only way that the formula for Fox News could work is by creating the lie that the media is liberal. That way they can say that they report the truth that the liberal media won`t show you. And to keep this lie going they say the phrase "the liberal media" all day long day in and day out. Because if a trusted source says something enough times, no matter how ridiculous, it becomes truth. With this lie firmly planted in their viewers heads Fox News can present pure sensationalism and call it news. After all they report what the "liberal media" wont show you. Sadly this is what people have come to expect from their news. Fox News and their over the top use of sensationalism has ruined news forever. MSNBC quickly followed suit and now CNN is getting into the game.

@ OutWest - You think they picked on him for being Republican? So what happened to John Edwards and Anthony Weiner? Two Democrats with marital shenanigans that were heavily reported in the news?

The label "Liberal Media" is not true. Studies show an actual conservative leaning. But it`s good for the GOP to use that label every time they get bad press.
"Blame it on the Messanger"
And there are people stupid enough to believe it.
Not us of course...other people.

As well he should. The press told us that Bjs in the oval office are a private affair and none of our business. Frankly, I don`t who the President is, as long as it is not Obama.

I hope he cinches the GOP nomination. That will do a number on their "family values" and holier than thou self-righteous sanctimony.

He`d make a good Democrat.

It`s just another example of "Gotcha" by the MSM to a candidate that doesn`t have their political view.

As I`m looking at your picture of the shipwreck Gerry there is an Ad at the top of the page for a Norwegian cruise. That made me laugh.

I`m appalled you have the audacity to run for president. I`m also appalled the audience is so dumb. I`m appalled you are such a hypocrite and the moderator didnt have the common sense to call you out on the fact that you had no problems slinging mud at bill clinton for his infidelities. Lastly im glad your mom and dad named you NEWT because it fits you so well you slime ball reptile go drat yourself and drop out already.

Newt`s an arrogant weasel. If Newt gets the Republican nomination, no matter how sh**ty of a job Obama is doing, he`ll win in a landslide....

I think Newt is a despicable person with none of the moral values he preaches, but this was well played on his part.

Let`s say the ex wife is bitter and lieing.
SO WHAT!!!
He cheated on the 1st wife and dumped her on mothers day in the hospital where she was being treated for breast cancer.
Then he cheated on his second wife and dumps her after the doctors said she has MS and shouldn`t have any stress.

But he has the "despicable" balls to talk about the sanctity of marriage?
What a douche bag.

He can shame the media for asking about it all he wants, but the fact is, when a candidate is prepared to deny basic civil rights to minorities in this country based on "family values" principles, his own family values should be relevant.

@grindinblade I knew the difference in wives, just pointing out how his actions in his past might lead some to think he was a despicable person who, in turn, may not want to sling that word around so casually.

Just wanna point out it was his second wife Marianne who made the comments about an open marriage, not his first wife Jackie who had cancer. Not sure if you meant to connect the two, but agree regardless that he is a despicable human being.

i think the scariest thing about newt is his complete self-centeredness. everything HE does is okay but not the other way around. not who i think should be in control of the country`s nukes.

A) You`re running for public office. You don`t want your dirty laundry aired, don`t do that.
B) The majority of your political stance is on "family values" and "ethics", why should we even listen to you if you are hypocritical of the very proponents you stand for?

Despicable? Take a look in the mirror Newt.

These people cheering and clapping for him are probably the same people demanding Bill Clinton be impeached for getting a hummer and demanding A. Weiner resign for accidentally tweeting a photo of his junk to the public.

From some of his other quotes, he seems almost Randian in nature. Money is his first and only priority.

Worse, it looks like he`s on track to win.

A billionaire could bribe this guy to drop out, but that`s not going to happen.

If it comes down to Gingrich vs Obama, you`ll have yet another no-win choice.

If he weren`t such a vocal proponent of ethics or preserving the sanctity of traditional marriage, people wouldn`t care so much about this sort of thing.
