This article is only meant to stir up the false left-right paradigm that is blinding everyone. Republicans and democrats only exist to present the american people with the illusion of choice. Obama`s policies are the same as bush jr are the same as clinton are the same as bush sr are the same as reagan are the same as carter. If voting actually made any difference in the political process it would have been made illegal years ago.

Thanks @Patchy (hope you don`t mind me calling you that, I usually try to get people`s `names` right, lower case letters and all!) you`re not so bad either.

@mcboozerilla: How on EARTH is the post title "anti-Obama"??? It`s clearly about the magazine and has ZERO to do with BHO... next you`ll cry `racist` eh?

For those who are interested in the actual message, and not just the attention grabber on the front page, the relevant Newsweek article is currently here:
Andrew Sullivan: How Obama`s Long Game Will Outsmart His Critics

So, no, this isn`t about "non-Obama voters", it`s about Obama critics.
You don`t actually argue that anything blamed on the socialists in government is not their fault
Well I wasn`t defending them anyway, except maybe for the "who wants war?"=democrats comment. You`re also skewing the argument by not acknowledging republican complicity in some of those policies.
You don`t actually make any argument that most of the US legacy media (especially the newspapers and most TV news sources, including PBS) are socialist.
Saying that American news companies are biased is like saying water is wet. There are biases on both sides, I`m not even arguing that, it`s self-evident. Many of 5cats` arguments are ad nauseum anyway.

Hmm. If obama`s critics are dumb, his supporters must be REALLY stupid. Seriously, who would vote for this guy again? He`s kept Bush`s bad policies and added even worse ones.

I have heard "I can`t believe I fell for it" alot more than "Obama 2012"

You don`t actually argue that anything blamed on the socialists in government is not their fault You don`t actually make any argument that most of the US legacy media (especially the newspapers and most TV news sources, including PBS) are socialist. There is good evidence, much of it coming directly from them (you have read the Journolist emails, haven`t you?) that they are. So basically you are just sore that most recent problems were caused by the Democrats or statist policy of Republicans. You can`t argue against it, so you simply rubbish the claims without addressing them.

Nope. Just that your favoured fool blames his failings on his predecessor, despite this contradicting his own previous statements (like that his stimulus would keep down unemployment, when judged against his own predictions it has increased it). You are simply foolish enough to believe him.

Well, since it`s a Republican writer, I assume he`s frustrated that well known republican supporters and their arguments are stupid, which I would have to agree. Have you seen the Republican candidates? Jeebus.

If you take a second to actually read the headline, it`s apparent that Newsweek isn`t saying "Anyone who doesn`t support Obama is dumb." I feel like Republicans CONSTANTLY play the "OH WOE IS ME, THE WORLD IS SO CRUEL TO US FORWARD-THINKING REDS" card.

Stop. F*cking. Whining.

@piperfawn: 5cats is an exemplar of the modern republican: Nothing is their fault, always disagree with democratic president, all that`s wrong in the world is because of the democrats, MSM is always against them. Dems essentially say the same thing in reverse, which make these arguments circular and pointless.

@Zeegrr: "...who put forth a health care bill from the other side?" = The Republicans presented a comprehensive health care bill in opposition, the MSM never mentioned it of course.
"Who is fighting healthcare for poor children?" = Republicans. Under Obamacare some 20 million + Americans have LOST thier coverage.
"who wants war?" = Democrats. Invade Libya much? Troops into Uganda?

"remember lies that started 2 wars?" = Remember that Obama supported Afghanistan? Remember that he campainged on it being "the Just war"?

Worst thing is that they paid Andrew Sullivan to write this puff piece. The man is a conspiracy theorist, and a really rather unpleasant one at that. Would they commission an Obama birther to write a piece on Romney? Why the Palin birther in chief (and that was a far, far more bitter, insane and nasty myth than the self-inflicted wound to Obama) to write a piece on Obama?

Hahahaha, you so funny. You really think the healthcare bill is (a) constitutional (b) going to help poor people and (c) affordable?

Bush might not have been a great president, had I been American I would have voted against his idiotic and self-centred (Gore)/dishonest, self-serving and nasty (Kerry) opponents not for him, but he was far less harmful and far more honest than the idiot now in the WH.

No, he didn`t lie to start any wars. 3000 dead is hardly a lie for the first one. The second, well, do some research rather than parroting talking points from socialist legacy-media. It is a silly left-wing meme, and getting tired. As is the "Bush is an idiot" meme. It sort of ignores that Bush had better university grades than clever old Kerry. And the fact that those that actually knew him who had no axe to grind said he was clever.

Obama - Bush. One is shorter and more corrugated the other has more of a taper at both ends. Both stain the bowl as they circle downward. I am tired of crappy presidents. (and senate and house and judiciary) The throne of liberty needs flushing from time to time to refresh the manure for the tree of liberty. Or some such nonsense. Fecal politics Bah! :(

I know you conservative reactionaries are quick to put a fatwa on those you deem insufficiently orthodox enough, but claiming Andy is Liberal is a complete f%#$ up.

*Lifts out the archives* Another good example of a Conservative at odds with his own reactionary base is Barry Goldwater. Yeah Goldwater, "Mr. Conservative" who once said, "Everyone in America should line up behind Jerry Falwell and take turns kicking his a$$. A woman has a right to an abortion." Google it if ye doubt the claim.

LOLZ! He CALLS HIMSELF a "conservative" but in fact is EXTREMELY left-wing.
He raged about how Trig wasn`t Sarah`s baby for YEARS!
He hates everything conservative, and loves all things liberal.
He also sock-puppets on his blog comments, pathetic actually.

Anyhow, Bias Much? NAW!

Andrew Sullivan writes a weekly column for The Sunday Times. He is not a conservative writer; he is pro-democrat, pro-Obama, pro-Obamacare, anti-bush and a homosexual living with AIDS. His headline here intends to mimic the usual Republican hysterics that pervade American political life.

@hole_rocks89, I love that you are interested in politics at your age but let this be a lesson to not believe everything you read. The media now days is designed to divide people. If you get upset when you watch or read what you consider news than it more than likely is just sensationalism. Real news is boring.

this is exactly the out of context bs most of you morons fall for every time...

so, since most people are complete idiots here is a quick way to tell what the cover is trying to convey:

1. it is an editorial by a conservative writer (hence the name in RED)

2. it is using obvious parody to get attention...meaning the CONSERVATIVE writer is calling out other conservatives for failing to understand how to beat Obama

3. if you still do not understand please do not breed as we have enough morons to contend with as it is.

Newsweek did not call Obama`s critics dumb. Notice that it was written by Andrew Sullivan, who is a conservative editorial writer, though independently minded. Therefore, the headline is asserting that Andrew Sullivan has an opinion, not Newsweek.

The set of all of Obama`s Critics is not equivilant to the set of Non-Obama Voters, therefore, Newsweek has not called all Non-Obama voters dumb in this headline. I myself am a critic of Obama, however, I have voted for him before and will vote for him again. (Though, to be fair, I am rather stupid and sometimes I have trouble speaking.)

My political leanings non-withstanding, I see a single author of an article calling Obama critics dumb, and a for-profit periodical realizing a vitriolic, polarizing headline will sell issues. After all, as patticakes said, they only sell for $1 each. I also see a website featuring a great deal of advertisements posting said periodical cover with an equally polarizing caption. Am I the only one here that recognizes the basics of promotion? Get the F over it people.
