I`m thinking this is some sort of Conservative Christian "we`re all sinners" thing...kinda like why evangelical Christians gave Newt the serial cheater a standing ovation for going after the media.

It`s sad and unrealstic, but there is no question that there is a distinct thread running through pop culture (TV, movies, etc) that basically characterizes fathers (and men in general) as fat, stupid, idiotic schlubs (while there female counterparts, wives and mothers, are slim, attractive, smart women). So, yeah, this doesnt surprise me in the least.....

Mommy is a
manipulative cow
who twists children
against their parents.

Too long and too many bad memories but this would accurately describe my father. Deeply disturbed, had psychotic break, we had to move, never came to any of my school events cause he didn`t like the people, tv dinners when mom cooked cause he burns soup....
sorry...never got over some of my resentment from childhood

"by herself for a while after that....like
indefinitely."

Well, not indefinitely, eventually she`ll die.

"This whole "let`s make up for sexism by making women look smart and well-grounded in comparison to their spouses" thing disgusts me."

Most likely, the parents are divorced. I don`t support using kids like this. Parent`s shouldn`t bad mouth their kids` other parent no matter what`s happening. My dad was a horrible human being when my parents divorced (he`s an okay human being now, not nearly as bad as he used to be, but not near perfect). My mom never said a bad thing about him to my brother and me when we were kids.

I`d be letting mommy deal with them by herself for a while after that....like indefinitely.
