Kim Dotcom (AKA Kim Schmitz) And His Future [Pic]

If he gets convicted with a full sentence, you have to ask, "Does the punishment fit the crime?"

Differance is, one is already convicted and sentaced( guy on right) and one just has charges filed, also guy on right would probably serve in minimun security with high possibility of parole, at least that`s what I imagine.

hell doesn`t exist, and if it did the guy on the right would be a hero. and if he believes in god he would be in heaven. it really amazes me though how they set this stuff up. in 5 years the guy on the right will probably be free anyway.

miguel didn`t piss off big corporations, therefore whatever he did=small fry compared to sharing music online/fraud/embezzlement. The difference is, Kim`s crimes come down to money, where as Miguel`s crimes are based on the taking of innocent people`s lives.

Picture is very misleading. 1. He hasn`t been sentenced to anything yet and 2. He is being charged with much more than just running a file sharing website. He is also accused of fraud and embezzling money.

This picture is circulating all over the net and needs to be stopped. Kim has only been arrested, not yet sentenced. Miguel was tried and sentenced in Spain, not the USA.

Commit crimes against humanity and society - 20 years.

You dare steal POTENTIAL profit from a corporation with powerful lobbyists? LIFE, B*TCHES!

Heʻs not getting fifty years. If youʻre comparing maximum sentence to maximum sentence that would be 50 years- life (or death depending on the state.)
IF heʻs convicted (IFIFIF) heʻll get like 3 years.

HOLY HELL! I`m ashamed to be American. "Cruel and unusual punishment"??? Take everything this man has and will own, but not life in prison. (50 years + his weight/age = life)That Miguel character looks young enough to be having his midlife crisis by the time he gets out... I hope his victims like Ferraris and hair plugs. Cause there is no REHABILITATION... Only building the better criminal. Tsk Tsk...

our world is and has been completely owned and controlled by the mega rich and committing a "crime" against them truly is worse than murder.

vvvv Piracy is a crime, but not even remotely akin to premeditated murder and rape.
That`s like sentencing someone to Death for stealing a pack of gum from a WalMart and saying the punishment fits the crime because they stole.

Both deserved the sentences.
Pirates are -im gonna say it- scum.
Point is, if you are stealing someones livelihood, your`e an non-nice individual.
There`s no justifying that.

kim dotcom disgusts me. i`m all for pirating, but those who distribute solely for profit can go drat themselves. seriously, haven`t you seen the house and cars that authorities confiscated?

i think Joe Rogen said it best...

If you download a Michel Jackson song and get busted, you`ll be in jail 5 more years than the doctor that killed him.

money above all

regardless of his previous convictions that were non violent, he shouldn`t be getting almost three times the prison sentence as the rapist child killer

no logic you ever use will make that justifiable

Always money above life! More trouble for stealing something replacable than killing something irreplacable!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a news report about Miguel Carcano (spelled wrong in the posted pic.):
About Miguel Carcano

tl;dr
The girls body was never found. He was found not guilty of rape. He apparently had accomplices. Prosecutors asked for 52 years.

and if they didn`t find the body how do they know it was burned (a fact not mentioned in the news report)?

Oh after a little Googling, I did find out that Miguel Carano commited his crime in Spain, and was tried and convicted there. His case has nothing to do with US law.

What everyone seems to be missing is Kim Schmitz hasn`t even been sentenced (or even extradited?) yet. 50 years is a maximum sentence. In theory he could only serve 5 years for all we know. Also any previous convictions were probably not in the US, so they won`t apply to this (or shouldn`t). The other guy received a 20 year sentence out what maximum possible sentence?

I`m interested in comparing his sentence to the sentence of businessmen convicted of embezzling millions of dollars.

When one of the social elite gets caught, it`s a slap on the wrist and off you go. When one of us average folk has the gall to "steal" from their businesses...why, your daylight privileges just got revoked.

If I`m not mistaken, the fatty on the left has multiple convictions. The skinny on the right just has one bad convictions. The number 20 is bigger than the number 2, but if you keep adding in 2`s enough times, the pile of 2`s will be bigger than the single 20.

The difference is that the rapist didn`t get any money out of what he did. Fair sentence? Not to people with a brain (though he did deserve to be punished). But to the government and the film, music and game industries who didn`t get a cut, it probably wasn`t severe enough. Money makes all the difference.

If you can`t wrap your head around why someone with MULTIPLE infractions of a less serious law might end up spending more time in prison than someone with a single, heinous act...I can`t fix your busted common sense.

@Batmanners, As someone who works as part of an industry directly affected by piracy, go drat yourself.

It`s not all about corporate greed. A lot of us are trying to make a living doing something we love, provide for our families, etc. And none of you little douchebags have any right to take our work without compensation. You don`t like how expensive entertainment is, then don`t drating buy it.

So shove that `down with the greedy establishment` rally flag right back up the ass you pulled it out of.

Personally, I couldn`t give two poos about all the little pissants downloading music, movies, and games...it`s the non-nice individuals providing a portal to fasciliate the activity and then charging you money to make it happen. That crap is as clear of a violation of copyright laws as it gets and they deserve to have the full weight of the law thrown at their greedy, fat head.

"Perhaps you should look at kim dotcom`s previous convictions. It`s pretty obvious he wasnt doing it "to promote free speech" or whatever crap the hipsters are coming out with now."

You`re right, Kim Dotcom was doing it to hurt a system that is 100% in favor of the TRUE rulers of our countries. All the other guy did is kill someone.

Honestly there is a lot more to it than JUST sharing digital archives. You don`t get as rich and as paranoid as him just by a file sharing program. The dude hid in a safe room in his mansion with a sawed off shotgun.

The copyright charges are just the tip of the iceberg to a lot of others that are way worse.

I have no sympathy for rapists, they actually fall lower on my scale of undesirables than murderers; in this guy`s case he did both.
