I know what they`re trying to do, and I`m for it, but taking this tactic to the extreme is just stupid.

Am anti-piracy 110%, people need to get it in their minds that things are copy-writ for a reason, though I admit that word has been perverted over the past few years. They don`t liberate data from shadowy organizations trying to con people out of their money, they`re stealing peoples` livelihoods.
Pirates aren`t savvy Robinhood-esqe internet figures, they`re just a*sholes.

When you live by capitalist standards, is it no wonder that corporations will do anything to make more money. Even if it means the rest of the world suffers, doesn`t matter as long they get richer.

I don`t mean to imply that it`s a bad system, we have seen it work just fine. It`s when you give someone too much power over others that it becomes a problem. Like when you let the ones with the most money dictate how things are run, they are going to make it better for them selfs, not anyone else.

@IRockYeah - Who laughed? I didn`t. The middle east being blocked was atrocious. Censorship esp. in China directly affects me, too. So many people who could be using twitter/facebook and stuck using Weibo (which I also use) and aren`t able to freely express themselves due to the censorship. The fact that the US (government, bought and paid by corporation) wants to become just like China on internet censorship is scary.

And you laughed when countries in the middle east were blocked from the internet. Or laughed at how the far east censor their internet.

Not so funny now is it?

bliz If by try harder you mean drop millions in the laps of people who matter in these decisions then ya. Sadly most of us don`t have millions upon millions to bribe lawmakers. Did I say bribe, I meant sponsor.

@itrebowski actually, it`s the fact that the lobbyists try harder to communicate directly with legislators than the people. Few of the people write letters, few of the people call their congressmen, few of the people offer up ideas directly to their congressmen. While many people are complaining to their congressmen _now_ how many people will follow-up with their congressmen to get a bill drafted that actually makes sense? ...verses how many lobbyists?

That`s the reality...

@IvyMiller I suspect you are actually a male chinese political prisoner working for the China national prison service, rather than a pretty American teen girl. I hope they supply soap-on-a-rope in China. If not, pass your prison number and I`ll send you a bar.

Proof that politicians listen to powerful lobyists more than us here.
This isn`t party politics. This is people with money buying off people with power.
