It was the opposite in my school, more kids were fat than underweight, so I honestly think I was picked on more for being a skinny kid. They`re all jealous now xD

And people are upset about these videos? I`m a little more upset that people don`t know how to properly feed their children instead of just letting them rummage out of the fridge whenever they please. Also I think they`re bringing up the point of being picked on to maybe give everyone a reason to try and help the problem?

(I live in GA but haven`t seen these yet.) Let people get pissed off about these. The old saying "truth hurts" kinda fits here, doesn`t it? We`re killing ourselves and the next generation. Somebody needs to get pissed.

I think too many people believe it`s genetic. When that is rarely ever the case, it`s almost always lifestyle.

This hit home because I was one of these children. I started gaining weight when I was 5 and weighed 260 by the time I was 13. My mother thought I would "grow out of it". The truth of the matter is she let me eat whatever/whenever and never tell me no. I`ve lived a life of being ridiculed and isolated simply because I was bigger than everybody else, which would`ve never happened had my parents not ignored my weight problem.

Now, the only way for me to really lose weight is to go get a personal trainer at a gym. Because I`ve grown so accustomed to being overweight, it makes it hard to motivate myself to become thin because I have no idea what it would feel/look like. Plus, I now have to go through counseling to help overcome the depression and self-esteem issues that have come with being an overweight child and teen.

If your children begin to gain weight, PLEASE help them before it gets out of hand. This kind of life sucks, and I would never wish it upon

Seeing as 2 of them were the same video... someone needs to watch a PSA on how to count as well.

Why are there two pairs of the same video?

There are only, like, 5 actual vids here.

Someone needs to watch a couple math PSAs or something...

Anywhore... Now that my *ssholery is out of the way...

I`m fat, always have been (working to change it, but that`s beside the point), but I`m surprisingly healthy for my size, diet, etc.

To be honest, some people really ARE getting screwed by the game of Genetic Roulette. Especially nowadays, when "preferable" genes are a matter of personal taste rather than actual value to the gene pool and survival of the species (chubby chasers as a related example), it`s only getting easier for those bad genes to spread.

To some extent, you must admit, it IS genetic. People like me can come along and be fat but healthy, no matter what we`re doing wrong, while others can be smaller than me and dying internally. I got lucky, they didn`t.

@penguinazul, you don`t need a personal trainer. you just need to start eating right and exercising. It is VERY VERY VERY easy to lose weight. That does not mean that you won`t have to work hard though. I recommend the book "Burn the fat, feed the muscle" by Tom Venuto. It will change your life. The key is to stay motivated and he dedicates an entire section of the book to just that. I seriously recommend reading it, you will not regret it. I was slightly over weight and I consistently lost 2lbs per week to get to where I was happy with myself. I`m currently back on the plan and will be getting down to 10% body fat by March. Like I said its VERY easy to lose weight. You can do it, and you don`t need to hire a personal trainer either. Just think about what your future self wants instead of your right now self. Read the book.

Altaru, it`s not genetic. There are some cases like with thyroid problems, but that is about it. Even people with thyroid problems can avoid becoming over weight though. They just have to work harder at it. You might think you`re healthy now (Age 18-29) but when you get to be around 50 that will not be the case. If you`re closer to the 30 mark than the 18 mark your metabolism is about to start slowing WAAAY down and you are going to gain even more weight because of it. Your body will not remain healthy for long after that. Now is the time to get in shape, while you`re still young and have that health to put toward good use.

Simple physics, Altaru. There isn`t a gene that magically nullifies energy. Either you burn off what you eat or you don`t. Your body is not so magically more efficient than anybody else`s. You do a certain amount of work on a daily basis. Clearly you`re not doing enough or you`re eating too much.

To dm2754: Oh really now? You enjoy being too tired to walk up a flight of stairs? You enjoy having people think that you are physically unattractive? You enjoy being at risk for heart disease? Well if so, then you`re right. It is good to be fat.

like in the last one - it runs in the family - yet the idea still ran right over the heads of the producers of this nonsense.
