I have no sympathy for those idiots, sitting on the ground, taking up space solves nothing. You wanna make a difference? Join the establishment and fight from the inside . . . kinda like the Talibanners, kinda, they ain`t doin so well either . . . hmmm, stick to sittin on the ground. Nobody gets hurt . . . much . . .

I know many of these cops and civil servants merely do what they do to pay the bills and many have a mentality that it is better to be on their side of the fence than on the 99% side should the ship go down. But I wonder if anything being said to them, any of the actions (crimes) they perpetrate against the people bothers them at all? Do they feel the hatred and disgust people have for them? Does it phase them even? It surely must.
I`ve said it before and it was said in this video by someone off camera- There are 800,000 cops and many more people. If these civil servants (paramilitarized gustapo)continue to operate in this way and do the things they do, how long is it going to be before something like this happens and people have had it? I don`t hold illusions that people taking justice in their own hands will make things better..probably worse since the gov will retaliate. But one does have to wonder when and just exactly how will this continue before the poo hits the fan.

Say, have we sent ANY bankers to jail? Any? Even one? You know, for the documented lies they told investors to steal their money, for the blatant fraud they committed - have we sent even one single solitary one of them to jail yet? I think probably this tent-thing would work on those bankers.

Just to let people know:
Congress and the House just passed a law allowing indefinite imprisonment with out trial/charge or assassination of anyone in the world (including Americans) of anyone deemed at threat to America. That, along with this, is proof that America is becoming a totalitarian police state.

mmm, I was paraphrasing Mahatma Ghandi: Be the change you want to see in the world.

The second quote? Che Guevara: the opposite of Ghandi, yes?

Laugh my ass off:

"Let the world change you and you can change the world"

Guess who said THAT?

@madest: a really smart person said:

"You cannot change the world, you can only change yourself."

I`ll take a look-see on who that is and get back, unless some wise IABer know it?

The voice behind the camera even says: "They`re not gassing anything... it`s the inflation" 4:00 in.

Epic Title Fail!

Those nasty cops! gassing the OWS with AIR! Clean air, to blow their unwashed stench away? Violation of human rights, fer sher!

madest:
How do you suggest they change the world?
Not with tantrums, not with chants, not with taunting police, not with blocking traffic, not being douchebags, and not with camping in city parks for weeks on end. All the above will get you is sneers and looks of disgust.

Also, quit taking your protest advice from Thoreau, PBS, and the 1960`s for a start.

Ooo. Ouch, I-A-B. Your title for the video is incorrect. They weren`t gassed at all.

How do you suggest they change the world? By sitting at their computers and directing snide comments at the people who rip them off? Hasn`t been working for you. Why would that work for them?

"That being said, what the hell was the tent for?"

To block the cameras. They didn`t want the arrests on film. It is within their rights to do this.

Gassed under tent? Holy drat, way to cause damage to your cause by blatantly lying. Even the protester said, "It`s the inflation valve for the tent calm down."

That being said, what the hell was the tent for?

Honestly, isn`t this childish? It reminds me of little kids having a tantrum, they cry and scream and lay on the ground. I also wonder why these protesters think that violating other laws in name of a protest is okay. I live in the Twin Cities of Minnesota and our "occupiers" were walking through the street disrupting traffic. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

MountainBord-"the fire department and police are supposed to provide safety for all their citizens."

That`s what they were doing. The sun was really strong that day and they didn`t want the idiots..er, `protestors` on the pavement to get sunburned.

And, once the tent was set up, they brought in some Masseuses and gave them all stress-relieving messages. (what? you don`t believe that? Well, it`s got as going for as the `gassed` theory).

I`m impressed that they had a tent the exact size and shape to fit over the protesters on hand.

"No one was gassed in the tent. Tear gas and OC spray would`ve contaminated the tent and no police or firefighters were wearing gas masks to protect themselves. The title is false and deceptive, on purpose."

Funny seeing as how it`s actually a decon tent that they were putting over them. They should have hooked up the showerheads in the thing.

cityncolour: I`m guessing you didn`t read the story about how the Tabacco brothers, after hearing NYC occupiers complain they didn`t have jobs, went down to Zucotti Park and tried to setup a legitimate job fair. After putting up the booth the protesters pelted them with birdseed, in the vain attempt to get pigeons to swarm their booth. Story Here

Gassed under a tent? That`s a Scott Air bottle, the same one firefighters use to breathe in a fire. Whoever posted this should do some research before they accuse firefighters and police officers of "Gassing Protesters"

granted i skipped through a lot of this, all i heard was a bunch of yelling. cops placing a bouncy house on top of some people, and some re inflating of said house. i didn`t hear screams of anguish of cops beating them and i didn`t see smoke come out of it either.

but in the end what the hell was the point? it`s not like they covered everyone up.

ForSquirel: Most of them don`t have jobs, nor do they want jobs, they are freeloading off their parents.

Whomever thought of the tent should get a commendation.

in my book all they did is protect the identity of the arrested people as there were cameras all over the place and nobody likes to be filmed while being taken into custody... so well done... and how crazy you have to be to confuse a portable inflation device ( compressed air in the bottle to inflate the tent in the field without needing a compressor or lung-power [lol]) with pumping in gas to kill the people inside... what a bunch of idiots .. idiots.. blind raging idiots... no idea what they are talking about, no idea of the laws involved.. like little kids

What a bunch of ungratefull idiots!
They set up a nice fun bouncy-house so the protestors don`t get bored
and all they did was yell at the fire and police men.
I would pack up my bouncy-house and go home, too!

You gotta give it to them.. They were getting bad press for unneccesary violence caught on camera.. The solution? Not "stop beating people up and pepperspraying them", noo... Put a big tent over them, THEN beat them up and pepperspray them.. Genious..

I`m just wondering how much money is lost by all the protesters. I mean the time off, the time away from the jobs. It`s got to be a lot.
