Who I"m more disappointed in? The teens who Tebowed (I know they were taking the piss), or the school administrators?

They were in the way and blocked the flow of hallway traffic. Idiots deserve it.

Something wrong with anyone who wants to be Tim Tebow.

Thanks @QueenZira!

Perhaps it`s the Bible passages on the face? But that`s been done before too.
Possibly it`s the market he palys in, nothing better to talk about in Denver?

But mostly I think that if he were black, this wouldn`t be an issue at all, nevermind a "convtroversy".

Idjeets deserved it. I was all for atheism by common sense, but if people don`t have the common sense to reject religion, it should be banned.

Aw, c`mon, God`s on Tebow`s side, doncha know? That`s why he never makes a single mistake ever, `cause God`s on HIS side and not the other team full of atheists. S`true.

After watching the video, the suspension was appropriate.

Personally, if a group of idiots had done that at my high school, I would`ve started kicking my way through.

With as much head-knee contact as possible, of course.

I`m gonna say something that has probably never been said before. OK, here it goes. -You`re Right 5cats.

Nobody ever laser focused like this on any of those black players the way they do on Timmy here, and none of those black players was ever held up as a kind of Protestant Saint (as per some article I once read) the way Tebow has been either. I think we`re on to something here...

@QueenZira: dozens if not hundreds of Black players have been "taking a knee" and "thanking the Lord" for the past 20 years.
Did you notice that?
What did the MSM say about that?

I for one am really getting sick of hearing about this guy all the time and the stupid attention whoring he does on field as well. If you`re spiritual, good for you, but spirituality should be a personal thing, not a blunt club to lambast others over the head with. And make no mistake that is *exactly* why he does this everytime he turns around.

Or to put it another way-there`s a substantial difference between your grandmother`s quiet reverent piety and the obnoxious, gaudy, lurid showmanship of the televangelist.

It bothers me when all these folks slam the religious. It seems that the anti-religious may be the most intolerant folks out there. Having said that, these kids were acting like douche bags on the video and deserve the suspension. One day is pretty lenient. Maybe some in school suspension as well is in order.

If God is favoring Tebow`s team and helping them, then that means he`s tripping or interfering with the opposing team...which makes Him a total prick.

Drugs? Bullies? Cheating?
NOPE!
Pretending to pray in the hallway, THAT is the #1 problem in schools today! Ban them from school until they`re 21 FFS! Next thing you know, they`ll actually want to pray for reals!

For a moment I thought the kids were making fun of him which would have been cool, turns out the article goes the other way

They would`ve been just as suspended if they had been randomly kneeling in the middle of the school hallway, had they been warned and then done it again. They`re blocking the hallway, not praying.

"I disagree. They were suspended for one reason, I`ll give you that. But the reason was because they were doing something that interfered with other students moving through the halls and had been warned about it. "

This is what people are suspended for now? They couldn`t just ignore a few teenagers messing around not hurting anyone?

@msieg007
That doesn`t change any of the codes/regulations/policies in place about fires. Just because you`ll get up and move in the event of a fire doesn`t mean you can be seated in the aisle.

"These kids were suspended for one reason: The religious implications of their kneeling. "

I disagree. They were suspended for one reason, I`ll give you that. But the reason was because they were doing something that interfered with other students moving through the halls and had been warned about it.

If they sat in a lotus position in the same spot in the hall, the end result would have been the same.

It was a fire hazard?!?! Bitch, if a fire starts, nobody`s going to stay kneeling in the hallway.

These kids were suspended for one reason: The religious implications of their kneeling.

Now, had they laid down in the middle of the hall and started yelling `Down with the 1%! Occupy High School!` the teachers and staff would have called the news media and joined them.

I`m all against persecuting the religious - but this doesn`t look to have anything to do with actual praying - unless they are worshiping Tebow, I suppose. Either way - they don`t really have the right to clog up the hallways.

Blocking the hallway, for any reason, is discouraged. I`m sure the kids were warned, they continued, the got what they were asking for.

Not religious persecution. It was Stupid Stunt Stoppage.
