Not feasible. Too much vandalism. People will not tolerate being recorded and analyzed to determine product placement. Some will but those who won`t will take it out on the machine. That camera is too vulnerable and the glass display is too fragile. This may catch on in Japan (how the f*ck is the camera suppose to tell between people?) but not here.

"Anonymous video analysis" - so now even vending machines are spying on us. I notice you still have to press the buttons to get the goods, so this is lame.

Anonymous video analysis to determine what demographic you are in so it can display "proper product placement"...really? So every 25-35 year old male like/wants the same is that different than saying all black people like kool-aid, watermelon and fried chicken? (not saying that is true).

Bigotry and stereotyping based on age and gender is just as bad as race. For example, sexism and ageism.

And don`t say it is like ad placement on the internet because at least the internet tracks what you browse and tailors ads (not saying that is any better).

It`s an opportunity to cram the face of the machine with enough advertising to make it impossible to see what`s inside.

Of course, to pay for the $90,000 cost of the machine, a can of pop is $14.

Great, so let`s make the vending machines MORE computerized so they break down MORE often. I just had an issue with a Pepsi machine yesterday, after I put my money in I put in the number for some OJ, and it said it wasn`t available, even though it was right at the front. Yay unnecessary vending machine add-ons!

Making vending machines more advanced is dumb. I might buy one extra soda to test the novelty of it, but it won`t make me want to buy a soda. If I`m going to a vending machine, its because I want something already. The technology of the machine isn`t going to make me thirstier.
