Almost 50% of the world doesn`t know Christmas was invented to replace Saturnalia!

And in Simon Cowell`s defense, he does think he`s God`s gift.

wingz: the groups are not mutually exclusive, so they don`t have to add up to exactly 100...

I think this is sort of a joke, like they said to a little kid "is Christmas Simon Cowell`s birthday?" and one out of five kids said "yes" because it very well could be. After all, December 25 is my aunt`s birthday and my friend`s birthday, too. I do not believe for one instant that a 5-7 year old kid came up with the name Simon Cowell (or Facebook, for that matter) on their own without being prompted. I have a seven year old kid, he plays online video games and he has never heard of facebook. So, they probably asked the kids "Did the three wise men find out about the birth of Jesus on Facebook" and one out of three kids just said "yes" because they wanted the damn cookie already and would tell you that your poo smells like French vanilla.

Does not matter if it adds up to 400 %, as long as the factors can be part of the same percentage. Q 1, 2 and 3 could all be answered positive from one individual. And, as some have mentioned kids age 5-7 can agree to just about anything.

Weeeeeell, we don`t really know the exact date of of Jesus` birthday, so it`s a celebration of not a mark of.

Facebook? Seriously? That made me laugh out loud.

Well if you give them choices like that, they`re going to point to one and say `uh yeah, that one`.

"Adds to 125% Mega Fail"

I lol`d. Not at the picture, but at you.

Anywho, the first one is retarded. Personally I want to raise my 8 year old brother as atheist but my mom believes in god. How does #2 even happen...? #3 could be lack of a childhood. #4... no...

Children 5 to 7 ? Bottom line this is a sign of parenting fail, whether you are Christian or otherwise. By this age things should have been explained....

Or... maybe you`re getting stupider, and the kids don`t know about things that don`t matter!

That`s much more likely.

1. Jesus` birthday is unknown
2. Christmas has nothing to do with religion (even though it`s suppose to. But there is no god, which means there is no religion, which means it can`t be associated with Christmas). It`s about family and consumer shopping.
3. drat Jesus

Samsquanch: IT was an arbitrary date chosen by the Catholic Church about 1700 years ago... to mark the birth of jesus. I think you misunderstand what "marks" means in the sentance.

Also, the only stupid people here are the ones who are outraged by this survay. Without knowing any of the details behind the questions this is nothing more than a "kids say the dumbest things". And more than likely the kids were just trying to be cute / perform in front of their parents.

Well, let`s see. December 25th doesn`t mark the birth of Christ. It was an arbitrary date chosen by the Roman Catholic church about 1700 years ago. December 25th is actually the feast of Saturnalia, or the rebirth of the sun (early Church thought, hmm...sun...son).
Point the 2nd...Rudolph was an invention by Macy`s in order to boost Christmas sales. It lends to the whole commercialization of Christmas. Prior to the 1930s, Christmas wasn`t all glitzy with trees stacked with presents. It was quiet family gathering time. But, corporations thought, "Hmm...let`s convince people to bring presents to these family shindigs!" And it worked.
Point the 3rd...there was no evidence that the wise men visited the nativity. It`s only recorded in 1 Gospel. And even if they did travel, it would have taken approximately 12 years to go from Moscow to Jerusalem by camel caravan in those days.
I`m not going to address the Simon Cowell one.

Hey kid, ignore the scary man with the loud voice, big hair and weird outfit...

Do you think Christmas is Simon Cowell`s birthday, who`s birthday do we Celebrate on Christmas, Do you know Rudolph, did the Wise Men find out about Jesus on Facebook?

Kid: Yes?

Okay, that`s all the data I need....

wow.. apparently 90% of people think that all survay data is real and that 19% of people believe thats that 20% of work was really put into it. Thus resulting in 5% of effort actually applied as 15% was made up by machines. 1% of people will read this, as i did 4% of thought into making this, 10% of effort was to disctract you as 100% was really just to wish you a Merry Christmas. %110 is for a good day

Wow. Kids gave BS answers to a BS survey. Good for them!

Now if only the adults could recognize that the answers were BS.

People who are astounded by this stupid survey don`t seem to understand the sugestability of children. Clearly the survey consisted of qeustions such as "Did the wise men find out about the birth of jesus via facebook?" All it takes then is for the child to make some sound of agreement or nod their head. Which young children are obviously inclined to do, as they tend to automatically trust adults. I get so angry at people not having more intellectual savyness to not just swallow the bullpoo that constitutes 98% of these things.

This was probably one of those surveys where they ask the question in a way that makes it seem like what they are asking is correct, so the kid answers what the person wants to hear. And Christmas isn`t Jesus`s birthday either, btw.

Excellent point @Ruswut! Without the text of the survey questions, this is utterly meaningless.

So 65% of kids DO know Rudolph? I assure you 100% of the 5-7 year old kids at my daycare know who Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is...
