Seems like a kind of silly record... It`s just so specific that they might have been the first to even try. Tomorrow they`ll be the "World`s First Manned Electric Multicopter Flight While Eating Milk and Cookies", or heck, throw a woman in the pilot`s seat and new record right there! :D

4 minutes of crap for 22 seconds of flight? Really? Certainly not worth the `making-of` part.

It`s all good as long as you don`t fall out of the chair and turn yourself into minced meat :)

Quite impressive, shows that European technology is forward thinking and innovative.

They should learn to make 2 video`s, one of the flight and one `making of`. Most people are only interested in the flight itself (if they`re interested at all of course). When you want to know more about how it`s made then you can click to the `making of` video...

OT: it`s quite awesome though

I did exactly that as well. I`m sure it does crash spectacularly. See what happens with that software when a prop motor goes out.

"YOGA BALL LANDING GEAR!

That was actually the first thing I noticed, since I skipped ahead to the part where something actually happened. "

And yes, I want one. Just to see how hard I can crash-land it. Seriously, I wanna get hold of it, take it as high as it can go, then just *BOOM* into the ground. See how spectacularly it crashes.

Give me a backpack model with two counter-rotating rotors and at least 40 minutes of power - THEN I want one!

Doesn`t anyone on this site understand the meaning of "Proof of Concept"??

This in itself is nothing spectacular, but the possible implications when the technology is refined could be the future of personal transportation.

That`s useful for...err...must be useful for something...no, it`s completely useless.

Electric flying machines other than small models aren`t going to be practical unless there are amazing reductions in the weight required to store enough electricity or equally amazing advances in methods of generating electricity onboard.

He didn`t really "fly", he hovered. It would be impressive if he was able to cover some distance.
