Midnight Musicology: Seth MacFarlane?

OK, I-A-B--is Seth McFarlane buying into his own hype? Should he just stick to cartoons? Is he actually a good singer?

I am a huge fan of Family Guy and think he has an amazing singing voice as well as acting.

You can tell he was brought up on Sinatra. Great voice.

Of course he`s a good singer. Even if you watch Family Guy itself you can see this as he sings well yet as several different characters, especially as Brian which is closest to his real voice.

Seth has one of the best voices ever. His.. I guess its his normal voice, is sexy as hell. He`s a man of a thousand voices.

he`s a fairly good singer and his voice is well adapted to more `show tune` like music. can`t imagine him singing `Eat It` or `Amish Paradise` however, as robosnitz pointed out.

He`s no Tiny Tim or Weird Al, but he`s okay.

He was trained by the same couple who trained Frank Sinatra. You may not like classical singing, but this man deserves his recognition.

I love his voice! As a classically trained singer, you can hear when someone has good vocal chords and he`s got a nice set

I`m always freaked out when I realise I`m turned on by Brian`s voice. Or Stan`s for that matter :/

He`s not bad, and it put my week old daughter to sleep. 6/10

He`s not great, but he`s very nice indeed. Could have been really REALLY good if he`d done that instead. Oh yeah Gerry1of1, if you`re going to be on TV you need grooming, what`s wrong with that?

Credit where credit is due, he is a pretty good singer but there are a lot better out there.

Really not bad at all. Swallows the vowel. But good tonal quality.

good. not great.

Looks like he spends a lot of time grooming in his closet.

More important, were Seth and Peter Brdady seperated at birth?

I like this. Could he be mainstream? No. But if he stuck to this genre, he`s grand

For the type of music he sounds good...and he`ll make a fortune on it.

I love Seth. This doesn`t surprise me. He`s very show tuney. Fine singer if you like that style.

FOr this style of music, he`s brilliant. Not my cup o` tea, but a LOT of people love this stuff, and considering he`s my age, I give him a lot of respect for enjoying it too.

he sounds pretty good, but this sone does not use much range of his voice, not that hard to sound good

I remember this guy! Didn`t he do voices on "Southpark" or something?

I hate family guy, but I do like it when Stewie and Brian do the musical bits. He does have a good voice and the writing is far superior with those characters (in general).

Had it been a Stewie/Brian Duet of the song I might of said yes. If he had made some reference or joke from his cartoons to gain favor during the song I also might have said yes. As it is he sang quite well and I was surprisingly impressed. I did thing of all the musical stuff he`s done with family guy but all it did in my mind was reinforce the likelihood that this was a dream before animation and it bled into it and now that he the means he is living his other dreams. I rather thought he had a great voice for it too! Also, is it really that hard to imagine that someone could make dick and fart jokes and also have deep emotions and interests?
