>How should homosexuals treat Christians? Maybe we all should treat each other as we would like to be treated? Wait.... isn`t that?

You mean homosexuals should butt rape the god-squad?

So.... Since the title of this involves how Christians should behave, the inverse would be: How should homosexuals treat Christians?

Maybe we all should treat each other as we would like to be treated? Wait.... isn`t that?
The last thing that allows you into heaven, according to the Bible, is God`s mercy. That means that no matter how good, or how bad you are while here on Earth, when you face God, he decides. He`s more likely to have mercy on you if you`re good, but if at the last minute, Charles Manson realized his sins, honestly, and begged God for forgiveness, and accepted Jesus Christ, he`d be able to get into heaven, if he had God`s mercy. It also means that Mother Theresa might have faced God, and not received his mercy, and gone to hell.
Or, as Emo Philips put it: "When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn`t work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me."

I like this Christian... being of the gayish persuasion i happen to despise Christians quite a bit because they seem to be a bit ignorant of their own principles. I like that this one seems to have a broad acceptance of the tenets of his religion in a way that he can teach people to be tolerant and civil, perhaps even kind. Yes the bible is contradictory. Yes, in many places it is inflammatory against different types of people. But if read the way it was "intended" the purpose is to make the people "more" peaceable and acceptant of each other. It`s too bad so few actually do it. There will always be christians... at least for awhile.. and they will be here in many forms, so there is no point thinking we are going to change the world with logic. But out there in the "real world" where exists many paradigms, This guy is the sort i want on "the apposing team."

>>Ok so homosexuality is a sin but if you accept god it`s ok to sin so it`s all good..

>Not true, the bible calls for something called repentance or turning away from your sins to be saved.

The point of the video is:

(1) All people are sinners according to the bible. Whether they repent or not, they continuously sin.

(2) Christians should treat all people, both sinners and faithful alike, with respect and love.

(3) Sinners may enter heaven if they repent before their passing.

Ergo, unrepentant homosexuals will not be saved, but true Christians should treat them with love and respect and not go all WBC on their asses.

Of course, it`s all bull. There is no god and no judgement. we should treat everyone with love and respect because it is the right thing to do.

Just in time for Thanksgiving Maggie Gallagher from NOM (National Organization for Marriage) has a new video that shows bigoted Christian`s how to spout hate to their gay relatives all the while positioning themselves as the victim not the gay person they are attacking. Love the new lesbian haircut Maggie.

There are many errors in the bible. For instance in the beginning god created animals then man. But in the very next chapter god created man then the animals. That is a massive editorial error.

I am convinced that calling homosexuality a sin is also a biblical error. Because I was born gay. God made me this way so there`s no way something I have absolutely no control over is a sin. And don`t tell me that acting on it is the sin. Try not to ever act on your heterosexuality you hypocrite.

You can impose beliefs, not directly, but due
to intense and perpetual brain-washing (Or preaching,
as religious groups nicely call it).

In any case, homosexual marriage issues and abortion
are often denied by religious because of the bible,
and that`s just wrong. If you don`t want to get
married to another man, then don`t, but don`t go
out and call other people sinners or bad people just
because they do want to

I absolutely agree. Imposing is forcing someone to do something, though. Imposing a belief is an oxymoron. Perhaps what your against is their imposition of their own morals on your life, which I also oppose, because it doesn`t make sense. But to try to convince someone of something is different than to tell them they have to believe it.

There`s a difference between "Sharing" (What you said)
and "Imposing" (What I said), learn the difference and
then say something.

It`s rather ironic that Jesus taught that the whole of the law is summed up in "Love God, and love others" essentially, and yet there`s either a lot or several loud Christians who neglect that part, because it`s easier to focus on the outward works. You will never be more motivated to do things right than when it affects those you love. Being a husband or a father changes the way a man acts, same with a wife and mother for women. This guy`s view is absolutely right. I, as a Christian, can`t stand it when Christians display hate for anyone, because they`re a)doing things just as bad as any sin, and b)never going to change someone`s mind that way. Telling someone they`re wrong will never make them love God. Period. That`s not the way people work. Sin is just missing the chance to love God and others.

@iceblack, I understand your desire to stay free from other`s beliefs, but you wouldn`t be on this site unless you liked it when people shared things they liked with you.

Not true, the bible calls for something called repentance or turning away from your sins to be saved. It does not mean you will never sin, but it means you must actively try NOT to sin and you will grow to detest sin as you become more christ-like. An example would be stealing a man`s car, saying you are sorry for stealing it, but you then keep the car anyway, therefore zero repentance.

What a double-faced, double standard`s son of a B...
The bible is STILL stupid, is STILL the work of MEN
and I will never take it seriously, nor I will accept
any religion to impose their beliefs to other people,
it`s not about how nice or "tolerant" god or the
church is, it should not have a single say in other
people`s lives, simple as that

"We`ll continue to argue the point as long as the Christians who believe this man incorrect make up a large proportion of the Christian population."

Sometimes I wonder if it`s the largest percent or the loudest percent. Most of my Christian friends are more like Tim Keller than like Fred Phelps, but that could just be a product of living so close to a big city.

I can`t speak for any gays other than myself but I don`t hate religious people. My aunt is religious and is one of my most favorite people in the world. I worked with a friend who prayed before we went out on a job. She was so cool. That was 7 years ago and she was at my house last week. My best friends parents are very religious. I just adore them.

It is the extremes that bother me. The ones that have to publicly spout hate. It is one thing to personally believe homosexuality is an abomination but once you speak the words publicly you become a bigot because you are hurting people with your words. Those are the people I am intolerant of.

I`m not sure I want to read the comments. This was so wonderful. I don`t want it ruined by a few of the people that spout religious bigotry. And yes I am being intolerant. But I will not tolerate bigotry and hatred disguised as religion.

How refreshing to hear a sane normal christian explaining things. I may not share this mans faith, but I wish more people thought as he does and were kind in their dealings with others.

skine: Getting a `general consensus` from any group is nearly impossible, let alone the wide ranging and various denominations of Christianity. A majority may be possible, but not a `general consensus` (which I would be estimate to be 2/3rds or 66%).

"Now that it`s been explained so well, can we please cease having this debate every week here on IAB ?"

As soon as you get a general consensus from the whole of Christianity, sure.

Funny thing is homosexuality is like birth control for entire population. The price system kicks in making real estate and, well, the resources more expensive. People will seek relations that will inhibit their ability to have children. On top of which they can adopt children from those irresponsible heterosexual couples. That DOES help the population flourish.

So great, no real indictment of homosexuality.

@Pooptart19

... Did you watch the video? He called it a sin straight out, and he said that people need Jesus to save them from ANY sin, not just homosexuality, that homosexuality is not any worse than greed or self-righteousness. Are you just disappointed you didn`t see a frothing-at-the-mouth lunatic telling people to "pray the gay away"? If so, you need to grow up.

A wellheaded christain for once, that`s the teachings i got from bible; don`t be selfrighteous non-nice individual judging everybody by your own standards.. I`m not a christian anymore but i still hold the basic morals, which by the way are the universal morals that every atheist, hindu, muslim etc hold true, which basically is: don`t be an non-nice individual to others. Empathy is the key.

Not saying these things did or didn`t happen, but that this is a possibility.

The greasy douche Christian wouldn`t answer the f*cking question upfront. Just say it, man. You think gays are sinners and everyone needs Jesus to expel the thetans from our bodies. Born into sin, blah blah blah. Stp p*ssyfooting around.
