PierreJeanFRog, if you think I`m a fool, that`s a pretty damned good indication that I`m right. If you ever agree with me, please let me know so I can reexamine my beliefs.

Huffpost readers, this is why you`re ignorant. 53% and 48% chose the right answer on 2 questions. This is then generalized to say, "fox viewers are stupid. lulz :DDD"

I hate the fox haters bc they don`t realize that ALL the news outlets on tv do the same. exact. thing.

All of the TV media outlets are so illegitimate in my eyes its not even funny. Internet news for me.

Fox News sucks. MSNBC sucks. CNN is barely relevant, and all of them are the worst places to get spoon-fed the regurgitated human waste they call "news". Since when is some idiot pundit`s opinion considered news?

Geez, from the Huffpost? That source is even more whack on the opposite end of the political spectrum.

I gave up caring about politics so long ago because there is such ignorance on both sides and so very little you can really do about it.

@uatme: I completely agree. It took some serious consideration before I posted a comment in Fox News´ favour :D

But statistics don`t lie - people who don`t understand statistics do :)

I will file this under NO CRAP.

Oh and for the record Mubarak WAS the government as he was a dictator so saying the gov was overthrown is correct...

This is why I never rely on just one source for news.

I think the headline should read, "Fox News viewers disagree with the left-wing opinions of left-wing professors at left-wing universities." The fact is, the Egyptian government WASN`T OVERTHROWN! They forced the resignation of president Mubarak, but the Egyptian military, WHICH IS PART OF THE EGYPTIAN GOVERNMENT, stepped in and took control, and they`re STILL in control.

Jesus Christ, you fapping Fox haters are so f***ing pathetic.

Statistics is a difficult topic.

From the source: "...Rather, the results show us that there is something about watching Fox News that leads people to do worse on these questions than those who don’t watch any news at all."

You cannot conclude that watching Fox makes people less informed. You can only conclude that the people that tend to watch Fox have a higher probability of being less informed.

It could be the other way around. Perhaps being less informed encourages people to watch Fox?

Correlation does not imply causality!

@auburnjunky, "I am south of the Equator, so you are a third wrong."

You just responded in another post about "here in the South" so you are in the Southern US like your profile says. Are you joking, Trolling, or do you really think the South is South of the equator?

Ugh, I can`t believe I`m about to defend Fox... This feels so wrong... however I just looked at the survey myself.
Only 612 people were surveyed. You can get just about any kind of results you want from such a small pool of people. This study would have to survey a lot more people before I could even start to look at it as credible.

If this University poll is legitimate and not a push poll, the reason Fox News viewers know less about actual news is simple. Fox News from the very beginning has been pushing on almost an hourly basis the lie that the Main Stream Media is liberal. Don`t trust the MSM. Only trust us. This also explains their high number of viewers. Fox News has made it so their viewers have nowhere else to go for news. From there Fox News can pretty much say anything and their viewers will believe it because the "news" is coming from a trusted source. And to be fair MSNBC does this to. They just don`t have the added benefit of the lie that the MSM is liberal.

"I wasn`t aware that a study done by Fairleigh Dickinson University was done by the Huffington Post. Please tell us more oh wise one."

I will do one better. I will admit I was wrong. Something that is rarely done on the IAB comments.

Erm, the research was done by a university that has done many credible surveys over the last few years, not HuffPost. Criticize HuffPost all you want, but it merely report a fact, and facts are not biased by the news source -- opinions are. So for all you HuffPost haters, stop punching the straw man, it does you no good.

Reporters and editors could not care less about providing honest and comprehensive gathering and relaying of facts. They care about ratings points and making a profit from it`s sponsers. Period.
Journalists care about honesty, ethics and integrity when investigating a story; Unfortunately, they are at the mercy of the aforementioned slugs.

I believe if you only watch Fox News or MSNBC you are going to know less about the news than someone who watches CNN, reads the paper, or watches the local nightly news. The problem is Fox and MSNBC have multiple political pundit shows that spin and spin and spin the truth. They flood their viewers minds with lies and non-issues to the breaking point where there is no room for real news. If you consistently get angry when you watch "the news" then you are not watching a legitimate news program. News is boring. It does not make you scream and yell and hate the other "side".

I wanted to add that I don`t think it is healthy to watch CNN either. Anytime you have to fill 24 hours there is going to be garbage being presented. But at least they try to follow the standards of journalism.

Believing that a Huffington Post poll is non-biased is about as stupid as believing a Fox News poll is non-biased. They both are very good at doing push polls so that they get the results they want, which goes against everything a poll is supposed to show.

I find it humorous that a left leaning website is being bias against a right leaning news channel.

Huffpo and Fox, what you say are some of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent reporting do you even come close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I question the usefulness of this article. It`s akin to "study confirms water flows downhill due to gravity". Yes, it`s true, but does it really help the common person? Someone smart enough not to watch/read FN already knows FN is full of crap.

Excuse me , not a Fox News viewer, but I believe Mubarak stepped down in the face of the protests, and now unfortunately it`s the military that`s in charge now.

Just pointing that out.
