They`re even pepper spraying elderly people.

I think the police in general have proven that they aren`t mature enough to carry pepper spray or taser guns. They should also sit in time-out for a while and think about what they`ve done.

more of the same, protest your elected dictator and the elect another for more of the same. While your corporations rob and steal from you with impunity backed by the homeland control police forces (which by the are armed to teeth like military army)

And the government that is bought and soled sends the government forces abroad to kill and be killed while you ALLOW a silent coup of your government to take place. Follow the drating money, and you shall see your enemy. It`s more insidious when the enemy is one of your own.

Pretty sure pepperspray isn`t meant to be a distance weapon, and not only that, it would work exactly the same from any distance. It`s not a shotgun.

    culberto-", a woman?"

And she`s special because she`s a woman how?

Haven`t they been yelling for Equal Rights for over a century?

Act like an idiot, get pepper-sprayed like an idiot. Her sex has nothing to do with it (until, of course, she want`s everyone to have a pitty-party).

That`s usually how it is: "I`m a WOMAN! I expect to be treated exactly the same as a MAN!" (takes a punch) "HOW COULD YOU HIT ME??? I`M A GIRL!!!"

Madest "...their right to not be inconvenienced isn`t constitutionally protected..."

No, because the constitution protects people from overbearing government. The laws protect the rights of traders, and OWS thugs have been breaking those laws.

Of course the right to camp out in public areas and the right to sht on legitimate traders` doorstep and trash their business is not constitutionally-protected either.

The space they occupy is just that; public; free and open to all.

So they are not directly on any paths. Street marching (yes, marching, which implies they DONT stay in one spot, which is actually what occurs) only take place during demonstration

I say that because it doesn`t take a genius to know what happens when riot police show up, and they are choosing to stand in the front of the line.

@ den3jlb - Oh please, breaching the peace? It`s called a protest, you ignorant imbecile. It`s protected under the First Amendment to the US Constitution, which you apparently haven`t read. It guarantees the right of the people to peaceable assemble and petition the government for a redress of grievances.

That`s it. Freedom of speech is dead. When nonviolent protestors get beaten down by the police and people just act like they deserved it simply because they tried to express an opinion, there is no freedom of speech.

@Mjustin: Apparently, you haven`t read the Constitution either. It doesn`t say that you`re allowed to protest wherever and whenever you want; it says that Congress isn`t allowed to pass bills prohibiting the freedom of speech. There`s a big difference.

The freedom of speech does not mean the government must provide you with a podium and a microphone, nor does it mean other people are forced to listen to you. The freedom of speech means that no one is allowed to use force on you to stop you from speaking on your own property on your own time and money.

    The cops controlling the protest is NOT abridging the freedom of speech;
There`s no such thing as the right to forcibly occupy another`s property or block public streets.

I bet you`re the kind of person that cried "censorship!" when Comedy Central edited South Park`s Mohamed episode.

madest-"Sorry but their right to not be inconvenienced isn`t constitutionally protected"

Actually, it is, but only if you are a liberal.

A liberal can`t be inconvenienced by overhearing a prayer in school or sometimes by hearing the Pledge of Allegiance or viewing the Flag of the United States (seem to have no problem with the Mexican one, though).

A liberal can`t be inconvenienced by being called a bad name, so it is deemed `hate speech`, but have no problem throwing around such terms as `racist`, `cracker`, `nazi`..etc.

While liberal students have no problem inviting criminals, cop murderers or even enemy heads of state to speak at their schools. But inconvenienced if a conservative speaker is scheduled. (free speech for me but not for thee)

And in each case, they will scream that it is thier `constitutional right` to do what they want and `unconstitutional` to make them do anything they don`t want to.
