"what are they protesting for exactly?!?"
Last spring the people protested in force to overthrow a dictator in favor of a democracy. The dictator stepped down and the military took over. People are protesting that there has not been, nor are there any elections planned.

Because the Egyptian Army refused to fire on them before, the people foolishly thought it would let them protest THEIR control over the government. No Way Ho Zay. When has a military government ever stepped down voluntarily or without violence?

In the interest of clarity, the US trained and funded Egyptian army hasn`t been returning power to the people. They have also been cutting deals with religious groups for who will hold power in the upcoming elections. The people at large feel that new democratic parties are not being given a fair shake in the upcoming election, to which the military has responded with abductions, abuses, and military trials.

This is not a new revolution, it`s a continuation of their original one. Learn this lesson, don`t stop revolting until the whole house is cleaned.

In there you can see a riot policeman block another one from beating a guy (star wars style)...letting him get away. To be hit by another policeman 5 metres down the road

It`s sad how some use this tragic display of human behavior to say that the ows protesters have it easy and should be glad. So if some other country has gangrapes and beheadings by police on the streets, the people in Tahir would have it easy and should be glad.

That`s silly. Both cases are a display of irrational abuse and outright injustice. And injustice of any degree is still injustice. No exceptions.

    @Ajikan

hey, nice analogy. You made the point where a country with "gangrapes and beheadings by police on the streets" is incomparable with tahir. So then OWS isn`t comparable with this video, right? RIGHT. They`re on opposite ends of the spectrums.

    Not really.
I`m saying it`s disgraceful to say someone should be happy with what they get because someone else is having it worse.
With that view every place should accept their situation until all of earth is an equal poohole.

I could never understand how someone could do something like this to their own countrymen that are trying to fight for a better future of the country. Do cops/army gets some enormous salary raises whenever something like this happens? Or do they simply agree with the government?

" I could never understand how someone could do something like this to their own countrymen that are trying to fight for a better future of the country."

It is called hate. And it is the same reason many on the far right call for these kinds of things to happen to the OWS protesters or why they laugh at videos of cops beating the OWS protesters.

I just love how americans hate their police for being abusive because they pepper pray the "poor" OWS protesters...Meanwhile in other countries they are kicking the crap out of them..

Yet with a CLEAR difference people still compare videos like this to videos of OWS, if you REALLY think American cops are THAT bad, please, by all means go to another contry and try it, enjoy getting the crap kicked out of you or worse.

Personaly, if I had a choice I`d take the pepper spray ANY day over this...but go ahead, keep complaining OWS.

@DJDoubleb - First post, missed point, Go ahead an stand up for what ever you want, I never said that, I just said Stop complaining about near harmless crap, it could be a LOT worse then it is.

like i said before you think NOTHING will happen, but when it does there goes the complaining, you know it will happen, you know why, and if your really standing up then take it proudly and when it`s over go back and do it again, don`t post it on the internet and say go "boo hoo look how there treating us" day after day.

Hey illios thinks that 30 people being killed is near harmless crap. 1, 30 or 3000 this has gotten serious already and there is no backing out now. That place is going to become hell again for those people all over before it even begins to look up again. Near harmless crap eh...
