So sorry, in fact, that she`s willing to let the campus police chief and the cop, whom she ordered to break up an unlawful assembly, take the fall for her decision.

Yeah, she`s sorry. She`s a sorry excuse for a human being.

Your confusing Passive Resistance with Non-Violent Resistance. By linking their arms together sho they could not be moved other than through PHYSICAL MEANS they were no longer "Passive".

They were given ample warning they would be sprayed if they didn`t move.
The protestors made their choice.
Pepper spray was appropriate

CORRECTLY and by the code they studied and swore to uphold.

THIS is not that code. So think about that. Think about what it means if cops get away with treating .anyone. like this, because its easy to dismiss it until its knocking on .your. reality. This isn`t just happening at the protests, this happens to people everywhere when there are .no. cameras to catch it. Our cops need to be held to higher standards than this. its like catching someone cheating and they swear its the first time. If they can do this in plain sight and not worry, wtf do you think they`re doing when no cameras are around to catch it? .outside. .the. .box. .mufudgekas.

But as these kids are sitting on the ground essentially doing nothing more than being stubborn rocks the use of pepperspray is asinine.

Please get off your high horses because I`m sure you all break the law every day. And regardless of how, whether it be speeding, texting while driving, whatever .you. are breaking a law. Is your crime any less severe than these kids? No. Its not, because in the context of the law it is still wrong. Would you like a cop to come up to your car and unleash a spray of mace directly into your face because you bothered them and they had to take the effort to pull you over? No. You drating wouldn`t. So stop with the semantics and let`s look at the big picture of REGARDLESS of whether you believe in WHAT the protest is about, HOW it is being handled should be a concern to you because the MILITIRIZATION of our police force is a WRONG and scary thing. I don`t give a drat who pays these non-nice individuals salaries, we are paying them to do their job C

I believe the police code of conduct is you can only use your tools at whatever level of hostility you`re facing. For instance, if somebody is resisting arrest you can start using hand to hand moves, their pressure points, yadda yadda. If it escalates still, you can use your pepperspray/taz and if you`re in fear of your life or anothers you may pull out your gun and use it accordingly. But you couldn`t pull out your gun if someone is refusing to put their hands behind their back. In otherwords the force used can not exceed the force you`re confronted with. THOSE ARE WHAT OUR COPS ARE TAUGHT IN SCHOOL. My sister (who recently graduated with her law enforcement degree) and I were discussing this.

So could they go up to these protesters and start cranking on their pressure points to release them from their chains? Sure can, especially if they`re resisting arrest.

She`s probably not sorry and doesn`t give a poo, just wants them to leave her the hell alone.

Personally I don`t think she needed to apologize for anything. Anyone in her position would`ve made the same decision.

Also Gerry1of1 wins this entire incident/discussion of it with his last post.

What are the known facts to judge if her action was incorrect?

1: Protestors sat blocking access to a building. Most protestors know there is a chance for arrest when you do this.
2: Protestors linked arms so they could not be carried away.
3: Unable to carry them off, police tried to disband them without heavy handedness such as sticks or tazers.

Pepper Spray was the most non-violent response the police could use to disband them.
So what`s the problem?

No, I am not stupid and I`m not trolling either.
Really, if you protest and BLOCK ACCESS you are likely to get a response from police. What did they think would happen? DUH! If they had not blocked access, allowed through traffic into the building, they wouldn`t have been sprayed and still could have exercised free speech.

They wanted to provoke a response and they did.
I wouldn`t apologize if I were her.

It takes a lot of courage to admit that you made a mistake, and I applaud her for doing so.
