ANOTHER Special Needs Student Mistreated

Submitted by: kitteh9lives 5 years ago

It was denied repeatedly until caught on tape. No wonder kids bully each other when they see teachers doing it too.

I haven`t been to one school in ohio that I`ve respected except for ecot and that`s only because it`s pretty much a home school.

Ohio schools suck.

Did you guys see that video/article about the girl with down syndrome who kept getting raped AT SCHOOL and kept telling teachers about it and they all called her a liar for like, ever and didn`t even tell her parents? It happened like, four times or something before anyone began to give a sh*t.

Thank God Issues 2 was struck down (<--sarcasm). Now we, Ohio taxpayers, can support teachers like them while they coast on by waiting for their 30 years to be up before they can retire with full benefits.

@ Moosh - You`re a girl. You can cry and be pissed at the same time all you want, monthly in fact. But it`s differant for a guy.

Don`t make me explain it, boys are differant from girls and that`s that.

For all of you wondering or misinformed out there: crying =/= femininity. I can still have hateful rage inside me when I`m crying and I can still feel deep sadness when I`m being extremely violent and pummeling someone to the ground...all of which are aspects of being a female.

Yeah Bro! sick and tired of all those emos and metros and beibers. joe jackson.. every now and then we wonder who the real men are..
And Real Man _love_ Pussy, Beer, and footy!
that said.
you see a man overwhelmed with emotions and you judge him on face value. Dad is worried about his kid (naturaly) dad worries about his kids future, dad hears this poo (after not believing his kid so add guilt to the list)and his first impulse is to beat the crap out of the teacher but he can`t, who`s gonna bring home the bacon if dad is locked up? what good will that do forthe kid?
you know what happens when you bottle up emotions right? i`ll tell you.. just after my mom died from cancer, someone called me a "cancerdick" (dutchies have intresting swearwords) i was fighting so hard not to give in to the urge to smash that "person" (considering my m/a background and my anger i would have killed him)i ended up shaking and stuttering.

This was a standard technique of teachers when I was at school. Although I don`t agree with it, I am suspicious of people who run on national TV with stories like this.

The Pansy-Ass behavior of the dad is a dividing line among men now days. I personally detest the effeminization of men and others think is just a joyous thing to be so far in touch with your femanine side that your nuts drop off.

Look at the response to those of us who suggested giving that sissy some Mydol. Nowadays strength in men is viewed as "aggression" and that`s the first step to bullying! OOOOOOO!

It`s time we get back to a basic principal: Big Boys Don`t Cry.
Okay, you MANopausal sissies can attack me now. I`m man enough to take it.

i had teachers like this, both special ed, both taught like 4 kids if that. one of them shared private info with the other students about a meeting she had with my parents. another sent me to the principal for not understanding a story. i also had the british with in elementary school. i wish i had a way to record things like i do now.

and to answer about the over weight thing - it`s not the teachers business to comment on someone`s weight. even if the kid complains about it. it`s not their department. at the very least it`s the gym teachers area. to send someone to treadmill as a punishment, terrible. then they wonder why people bring a gun and kill anyone they can.

That sucks for the girl but I cant get past how sensitive the father is to even try to give two poos about this story. Quit crying and speaking with that little quiver in your words if you`re on national television. Does it not make anyone else sick to see other men act this way? It`s not like this was the first time he heard any of that. Could you be any more of an example of a pitty party? My word, the daughters not even crying. What happened to the real men? Take your daughter out of that school, cuss the teachers out if you have to and sue them if it`ll make you feel better(even though that`s a bitch move too). Don`t take your everyday crap to the Today Show so you can have housewifes and the rest of PC polite society cry over your mistreatment. Handicapped kids get made fun of every.single.day. throughout the history of the world. Nothing new.

did anyone else notice that you were just hearing responses and that you didn`t get the events leading up to the responses? I am not trying to defend the teachers at this point, but i think its important to hear what they were responding to. At one point it sounded like they were trying to motivate the girl to lose weight by telling her to get off her butt and go for a walk. Did you ever consider that the child might complain about being fat all the time? Do you know how old it gets to hear someone complain about something and do nothing at all to change it...Anyway, this sounds a lot like someone blowing stuff out of proportion, but without all the comments its hard to tell.

Of Course the dad is upset, that`s his daughter, on top of all the normal parent worries she has "special needs"
You entrust your child to the care of other people, you do that becuase they are supossed to be qualified and be able to teach your child.
if you then find this poo out you`d feel betrayed and guilty towards your kid.

Man, that`s sickening. And as for the dad being emotional, can`t say I blame him. I have a 5-year-old daughter (not special needs) and likewise I would have thought myself a failure as a parent if someone I loved so much (and believe me, you can`t love anyone more than your own child, it`s genetic) had been going through hell for years before you brought a stop to it.

i agree with gerry...you`re supposed to be strong as a father and crying about being bullied is not strong. I completely understand why the father would want to cry and as a matter of fact i think its a good thing that he cares enough too cry, but you have to be strong for your kids and breaking down to tears is not going to do that.

First of all, I`ll defend Gerry a little and admit that I had the same reaction to the beginning of the the video.. I mean I didnt think it was hilarious but mildly ammusing.

Second, (disclaimer: I know what the teachers did was horrific and I am not defending them in any way) but I would like to hear the whole recording of when they called her a cheater and a liar. Instead they just cut to the part where they were berating her. No matter what she didn`t deserve to be berated, but she definitely may have lied/ cheated.

Thirdly, I agree with Gerry that the dad is a bit weak.. I totally understand being emotional and crying, but to me it seemed like he just wanted attention and for people to feel bad for them. I didn`t watch the full thing, but the first three minutes had nothing to do with trying to warn/encourage others to stand up for themselves. Seems like the only reason they told the news about it and went on tv was for attention to me.

@Gerry1of1 Appearing on television to discuss something like this must be emotionally difficult, even if it`s months later. You can understand that can`t you?

Rickbub...I do have my own {not special need} and I do know. I also know that by the time the guy got on TV with this story it was months old so he aught to have damn well figured out a better way of dealing with it than breaking into tears in front of the kid every 3 seconds. [takes breath] Parenting is often about being strong for them not falling apart. So THAT is what I`m laughing at and you all need to stop being so damn melodramatic. The kid seems to be the only one dealing with it like an adult.

P.S. I`m not trolling, I really am just an ass. If by `ass` you mean someone who doesn`t cry into his milk on a daily basis.

I was "special needs" in high school--I have dyslexia. My special education teacher, who I had for four years, was the best. She loved each of us, fought for each of us, supported each of us, and put up with each of us. Hands down the most influential teacher I had. Hands down my favorite teacher. I was so lucky to have been in her classroom. Thanks Toni Ambrosio of Lakeland High School!

Absolutely revolting behaviour from adults who should know better than to bully children like that. How they can live with themselves after this incident is beyond me. Teachers are supposed to teach, nurture, encourage and strengthen the minds of children to prepare them for adulthood. This kind of behaviour is not acceptable at any time let alone in school! As mentioned by others before teachers who do these kind of things should be stripped of their license indefinitely.

No wonder teachers get a bad rap in this country. I`m ashamed to call myself a teacher because of all the jacka$$es out there calling themselves the same thing.
