yeah, some christians (like WBC) are totally insane, but not all of them. there are ALSO lots of OWS protesters who have plenty of perspective, and who still get Effed over by corporations/capitalism, whatever.

There`s no way i`m gonna THANK BP, regardless of how many iPods they can charge. They also destroyed an entire eco-system.

I agree that many people don`t appreciate the comforts of civilization, but you don`t have to be d!ck about it.

so we shouldn`t be mad that we put ourselves in debt trying to make a better future for ourselves through education and then to find out that education doesn`t mean crap. OWS is mad for a reason. they are mad that the corporations are effectively running the country, making laws that only help them and pushing through tax laws that make them richer while making the rest of us poorer. the only thing we need to do is put into effect a separation of corporation and state. take the lobbyists out and let the government work for the people for once. the hard part is going to convince the people in charge not to accept the million dollar bribes.

    1. Many, but not all, of the protesters in OWS hold an irrational and radical hatred of corporations. This video seems to be addressing those people specifically. I am unsure whether or not the MAJORITY of actual OWS protesters hold these views, and that effects the strength of his argument significantly.

    2. The desire to improve "the system" or society in general =/= a lack of respect for modern amenities. Many supporters of OWS want, in over-simplified terms, a more equal distribution of power/ wealth, not the complete banishment of the corporate system. I also think it`s fair to say that anyone who actually wants corporations to be outlawed is an absolute idiot, with no real understanding of power structures or economics in general.

Jops, I don`t think that he was saying going to college was a waste of time. However, and I tell this to many of my friends, going to school for certain degrees is worthless in an economic sense. I`m a just about to graduate with a degree in Biology and a Degree in History. The biology degree was selected to find a job in a sector that is still hiring in my area. The history degree is for fun.

I am considered a nontraditional student as I was 26 when I went back to school, but most of the people I hang out with at school are in their mid-twenties. In that group I have two friends in the anthropology department, one in history, two in theater studies, and one in chemistry. When I ask them what they plan on doing with their humanities degree not one of them can answer. However my chemist friend says, "I plan on working for Eli Lilly." Lucky for him he planned ahead and we live 30 minutes from the corporate headquarters and main production facility.

WW1 ended earlier than that. The respective governments chose that time to sign the declarations to signify a poignant and historic time in history.

If your wondering what Eli Lilly happens to be, go to your medicine cabinet and start reading labels.

The fact of the matter is that Americans lie to children. They tell them they can be whatever they want to be. Unfortunately that isn`t true. Everyone has certain abilities and strengths. I happen to be excellent at understanding scientific concepts, decent at math, and easily memorize useless trivia. On the other hand I`m lucky to change my oil in my car without it exploding. When going to college a person needs to look at what they do well, what are their interests, and what are the prospects of finding a job. Honestly, what good is it to spend 50k on college to learn how to sew costumes (one of my friends has a Bachelors in Set Design). How many jobs could there possibly be out there in that field that pay enough to support yourself?

The only ones that should be bitching about going to school and not finding jobs are teachers and ind

industrial trade. They are the ones getting royally screwed over. I also don`t think I know a person that would argue that the US economy is failing as we have turned away from an industrial society to one that is service based. These are the type of jobs the government needs to focus and start rebuilding infrastructure.

I also don`t think many would say that the education system in the US is screwed and that teachers have it easy. There are not enough teachers in most areas leading to overcrowded classrooms, but most areas are cutting education budgets! How does that make sense?

I have an idea! Let`s combine the two ideas and build schools using only US made materials, roads to get to those schools, new factories to fill with families with kids to send to those schools, and then fill those schools with well educated and compensated teachers! Of course, I could be living in a pipe-dream world.

This guy can suck the corn out of my poo. Smug mothersucker thinks he has this poo down cold, but he`s just going off on a rant about some poo that has nothing to do with what is going on. God, I really have no idea how he came up with this, is there a right wing guide to misinterpretation and self deprication? I mean really, these people are protesting for things that help everyone except the billionaire banksters, too bad these drating conservative drats think that they are part of the 1%, so they drat everything up. News Flash: 1% means the people on top running poo, not the people making 6 figures a year, their drating you too.

Turn off all the wifi and close all the restaurants within a half-mile of these protesters and you`ll see the `Occupy` movement wither in a few days time (That or they`ll riot and demand it back).

These spoiled children wouldn`t be able to hack back it in 1870, hell I don`t even think they`d even be able to hack it back in 1930 or even 1960.

You can live better being homeless in America than in most 3rd world countries, These kids have never known need or want, never had anything but full bellies and loads of Christmas and Birthday presents every year.

The media will always show the hippy dippy drum circle at OWS even if it`s
not the average person there. Just as they always show the drag queen
at the Gay Pride Parade even though 99% are dressed like you or I.

Log off the net... go down and have a look for yourself at your local protest.
The fact that there probably is a protest near you should tell you something.

@C_Frost: They arn`t getting paid to sit behind a desk. They are the only people that are able, and trusted, to do the job they do. If farmer joe or anybody on wall street was able to work as hard or do as good of a job as them then they would be paid millions of dollars too.

I think this guy should talk to a poultry farmer who has a contract with a company like Purdue and see how much money the farmer makes as opposed to how much money the company makes and how much money it costs to run her or his farm and tell me a fair portion of my money is going to the farmer when I buy packaged meat.

I have never been in need. I use my computer everyday, always have the kind of food I want and own multiple pairs of pants. I had my school paid for and everything else. That doesn`t mean I can`t imagine what my life would be like if I didn`t have a family that could give me those things and it doesn`t mean I haven`t told them they are as responsible for my achievements in life as I myself am and I couldn`t have done it without them. I can work 10 hour days on my feet and have a 10 minute lunch for a little more than minimum wage even though I have a BS. If I think there`s a possibility the system can be improved and feel it a valid reason to argue, why bitch ab
