"Parts of China have incredibly dangerous weather ... "

LOL, can`t help chuckling at the choice of words.

I suppose the building below was build to withstand the evil rain fall, but couldn`t deal with sunshine ...

another chinese building blunder

@pergas
"ultra crazy rock climers" used an entire mountain as a counterweight and drilled anchors into the side of the mountain that the structure in question is attached to. I`d say that the chinese one wins as far as structural integrity goes (assuming of course that they used american steel...)

@tobyvictory
the steel doesn`t matter...

Hopefully it`s made with American steel.

forget walking along it, how the eff would they`ve built it? the grand canyon one was built on land and pushed out over the canyon with a massive building as a counterweight and long anchor cables drilled into the bedrock to hold it all in place but i`m guessing that wasn`t an option here. the only thing i can think of is ultra crazy rock climbers.

Meh, the Grand Canyon Skywalk is better than this. It`s over 4000` high, and it`s cantilevered out over the canyon, so it`s much more scrotumitis-inducing than being up against a nice solid cliff.

There is a walkway overhanging the Grand Canyon, here in the US, on Indian land. It`s become quite a tourist attraction.

@TkA: Dude, the only reason we see a reflection is because of the angle at which the picture was taken. You know, like how windows sometimes reflect things at certain angles. If you were standing on top of that bridge, you would see right through the glass floor.

That is so cool! I want to go there now just to walk along that path.

Obviously it`s an optical illusion using reflection.

Look at the tree line in the background, then look again at the glass plate reflecting the side of the cliff she`s apparently clinging to. Then look really hard at the design of the walkway. You`ll see its concrete with glass plates on it. Then you might ask yourself.. why is there sky where the valley/trees should be? then you`ll know.

I couldn`t walk over glass when it was above a shark tank in the aquarium and I sure as hell wouldn`t be able to do it 4000 feet up the side of a mountain! I wouldn`t care if a f**king tank could drive over it with no problem.

Perfectly safe, I had a group of 25 models on that walkway and we were fine.
NO! Really? I thought this was made with a few sheets of normal 3mm glass. You`re not that smart are you? Damn!
...Someone asked what made it safe. I explained it. So I`m really not sure what your attitude is about, unless you just hate people who answer questions.

@Yaezakura

Because that`s not normal glass. That glass wouldn`t shatter under the weight of an elephant, let alone humans walking across it. They built a similar glass deck that extends over the Grand Canyon.

There`s quite a large difference in quality between mass-produced trinkets meant to be shipped overseas and huge construction projects.

Parts of China have incredibly dangerous weather, yet they still manage to build huge skyscrapers and such to last. And as I said, this kind of project has also been done in the US--the standards of safety are pretty well-established. That glass is probably to safer to walk on than most concrete sidewalks.

I`d do it. Been to the glass bottom floor in the CN Tower (jumped on it and freaked my friends out), and this is basically the same thing. Also been on a glass bottom boat.
People are silly. You can walk a piece of steal that`s thinner than the glass, but can`t do this?

Yepper, don`t think I could do it. I mean, knowing it`s safe and being willing to walk it, for me, are two entirely different things!

I would feel 100% safe on that path.

Take away the railing though, and I would be hugging the wall too.
