Hey guy`s I`m the pizza delivery person.
Somebody`s smoking pot I`m going to tell on him.
And then the pizza delivery person was 5.

He should know better, anyways. You can`t turn your back on your most loyal customers.

"Kinda shows you what kind of person you are when you that`s how you act."

The irony Klamz, is that your verbal abuse is a tactic for silencing people. Your posts show what kind of person you are - abusive, controlling, obsessed with running other people`s lives, willing to use verbal violence to get your way.

"Just like cigarette smoke,"

So, do you report every adult you see smoking cigarettes around kids? In their own homes?

That`s the real problem - there is a specific irrational prejudice involved. What about reporting parents who feed their kids pizza at all, given how damn dangerous obesity is?

The driver was not concerned about the kid, he was concerned that someone was doing something he didn`t approve of, and used the kid as an excuse.

First of all, let me start off by saying that Weed should be legal. I personally love the stuff. Now, with that said, the driver did the right thing. NOBODY should be smoking weed (Medically Prescribed or not)in a place where a 9 year old is able to breathe it in. Just like cigarette smoke, pot smoke effects the lungs of everyone around you and will also cause a "contact high". Like everything else in the world, the reason it`s illegal is because irresponsible douchebags like this guy can`t make an adult decisions to smoke pot only when it is responsible to do so and not endanger the people around him with his stupidity. It`s the same thing with people who can have a few drinks at a party and idiots who drink and drive with their kids in the car. GROW UP and be responsible.

How was the pizza man supposed to know that it was medical marijuana? The pizza man did what he should have done. He thought there might be a kid in danger, so he tried to help.

This is stupid. It is in no way papa johns fault. They are just a company that makes and delivers pizza. If you are angry, sue the delivery guy for telling on you, but you can`t do that so suck it up and don`t be a dumbass. Papa johns makes great pizza, the world would be worse off without them. FACT.

The `Legal Analyst` seems to have as much legal acumen as the dregs of legal aid. If the delivery guy had called federal authorities and reported the alleged crime, I could see no course for litigation. But he didn`t, he called the LOCAL police, which are subject to city, county and state laws.
Secondly, while delivery guy may have acted outside his job description, he is still a representative of the of the company.

"The man showed the officers his medical marijuana card and they went away."

They went away AFTER they busted in and searched his property without a warrant, based on a call from a disgruntled teenage pizza delivery boy who could have been pissed because he didn`t get a tip, for all these cops know.

"So you`re saying crime is okay as long as it doesn`t DIRECTLY involve another person?"

No, I don`t think telling you to mind your damn business is even slightly relevant to accepting crime as okay. WAHHH, GANGS KILL PEOPLE, WAHH, DRUGS ARE BADDDDD. No, people like you want to solely blame drugs for all the faults in the world, which means no one has to take personal responsibility for what they do. Gang wars don`t happen because of drugs, gang wars happen because of gangs, who would be there fighting over something even if we eradicated every "drug" off the face of this planet.

If the legal adult is not pushing his activity on the minor, why does it matter what he`s doing? He could be drinking beer, smoking weed, or doing lines. He`s an adult. He knows the risks, he`s decided to take the chance. So what? Who cares? You, apparently, and far too much.

"@Rick_S, So does that mean we are to call the cops when someone takes Aspirin around a child?"

Yes, Aspiring is a drug, but not in the sense we are talking about. To better choose my words:

So, if you`re going to boycott Papa Johns, keep in mind you`re doing it because one driver, acting as a private citizen, called the police because he thought a 9 year old girl was being exposed to ILLEGAL drugs.

WAIT! I hear you saying, "but it was prescription MJ and he had a valid card for it! It wasn`t illegal." Not at the state level, but on the federal level, it`s still illegal, and the feds have made that very clear.

Or, I could have said, "So, if you`re going to boycott Papa Johns, keep in mind you`re doing it because one driver, acting as a private citizen, called the police because he thought a 9 year old girl was being exposed to MIND ALTERING drugs."

That brings up another issue, as not all mind altering drugs

@McGovern, no to all of those. While I`m sure you can point out that I unfortunately consume something with a type of drug added to the ingredients, I do try to avoid anything that would remotely adversely effect my mental state.

More to my point is I avoid all illegal drugs.

Marijuana can be both legal and illegal, you think it`s wrong for someone wanting a safer world? for someone wanting to ensure the protection of children and allow them to be raised in a proper environment?

What`s wrong with the police paying you a visit to ensure this? They find nothing wrong, they go away. Don`t break the law and you have nothing to worry about. The man showed the officers his medical marijuana card and they went away. Simple.

Why are the personal, individual actions of someone such a huge offense to you?

So you`re saying crime is okay as long as it doesn`t DIRECTLY involve another person? A lot of people die because an illegal drug market exists due to gang wars, bystanders, contaminated drugs, overdoses.

So clearly as long as it doesn`t included another person DURING the crime by your standards it`s okay.

Things like, breaking and entering, grand theft, torturing animals (they`re not people after all). destruction of property. How would you feel if someone burned down your house while you wern`t there?

You weren`t harmed so it`s none of your business right?

There are consequences to very simple infractions of the law, which is why their laws. The illegal drug trade has quite a few of them actually.

If you don`t stand up for what`s right you`re allowing it to happen. So... you support murder?

That better sweetheart?

"So does that mean we are to call the cops when someone takes Aspirin around a child?" Aspirin is not prescription only and in no way considered illegal. If you see someone taking a Vicodin out of a non prescription bottle then of course you call the cops.

What about doing lines of coke? Maybe injecting some heroine, you wouldn`t call the cops if you saw that with a child around?

How about domestic abuse with a child around?

It mentally damages the children.

I expect no one to agree with me, but face the facts, if you support illegal marijuana usage now and push for it`s legalization you are just trying to defend your addiction and don`t want to get arrested for it. You`re a ****ing drug user and no one cares about you!

I think the issue is clear, but in case you missed it, here are the facts:

1) The delivery guy didn`t know it was medical mj, and had no way of know it.

2) The delivery guy saw a young kid in a house where mj was being smoked.

3) The deliver guy called the cops out of concern for the child, not because he had any problem with the smoking of mj.

So, if you`re going to boycott Papa Johns, keep in mind you`re doing it because one driver, acting as a private citizen, called the police because he thought a 9 year old girl was being exposed to drugs.

Maybe they didn`t tip the guy enough.

Don`t want to get arrested for marijuana? Then don`t smoke it. Or rather, don`t let anybody see you do it who you don`t know 100% either also smokes it or doesn`t care. I find it strange that people do something illegal right out in plain sight, then complain when they get caught. If you don`t think it should be illegal, then campaign to get the laws changed. Or move to Amsterdam. More than this however, is who wants to eat a delivery pizza? Most of the delivery guys I`ve seen I wouldn`t want handling my food.

I worked at Papa John`s at one point. Made a delivery to a party where it smelled like marijuana. The adults were completely wasted. The guy who ordered the pizza had to be carried out by the arms by two guys. I didn`t call the police until I saw two kids (about 6 years old) running around. Called the sheriff after that.

Just for reference, it was only for the kids. I`ve delivered to people that had needles sitting out with cocaine lines next to them too. They made me come inside the door immediately. I didn`t call the cops on them. If there had been kids in that same house; I would`ve called.

Pizza guy did the right thing. I did the same thing when I saw a guy smoking a bowl while driving with his 2 year old daughter in the back seat. The customer needs to understand the concern of the delivery man. You can`t tell me if the delivery guy smelled pot that the guy wasn`t smoking it. We all know how pungent it is...especially the good stuff (which medical marijuana is purported to be).
Now, that said...I always thought medical marijuana was for people with glaucoma or some form of cancer. But this guy gets it for a bike injury? It`s not a pain killer, is it?

There is no justification behind marijuana being criminalized. This is no different than calling the police on people who smoke cigarettes in the house with their children.

Except pot isn`t nearly as harmful as tobacco.

rebetikas: True the suit wasn`t over his theft if intellectual property, it was over his bogus advertising claims and a jury found that he was engaged in false advertising, it was overturned by a higher court, but I believe the jury`s initial judgment was the correct one.

Papa johns buys the same ingredients from the same wholesale suppliers as Dominoes, Pizza Hut, and others.

In context with the `nine year old daughter` would the pizza guy`ve called the cops if he thought the customer was drunk? I realise weed`s a prohibited substance, but let`s be honest: Which substance would be more likely to cause harm to the child?

Also, all the searches I`ve seen suggest he did pay the money, and he gave also gave $25k to the original buyers too. No idea on wages, but guessing you`re wrong about that too. Sounds like you had a bad pizza there.

BigBad: `John` used to be an executive at Pizza Hut, but they fired him. He then tried to steal Pizza Hut`s intellectual property, recipes, etc and was sued by Pizza Hut, after he started Papa Johns.

You are correct about John Schnatter being a douche, he runs Papa Johns like a dictatorship.
He even screwed one Kentucky couple out of $250,000 in contest money they rightfully won, to find the 1971 Camaro he sold to finance his first pizza joint 25 years ago. Schnatter then had the gall to sue the Kentucky couple, that once owned the car.

Papa Johns wasn`t even paying it`s delivery drivers minimum wage as required by law, they were effectively only paying their drivers $2.55/hr. after expenses.

@jtrebowski: Why? Because he`s supposed to know exactly what everybody`s prescriptions are? Because he`s supposed to know exactly what the guy was using it for?
I suppose you justify preemptive arrests on crimes that have yet to be committed as well?

The guy called the cops on someone who was in possession of a substance that is illegal without a piece of paper saying that it isn`t. So unless the user posts his prescription on his front door, he should expect this thing to be a regularity, and the cops should know that the guy has a prescription and shouldn`t bother making a trip out.
