25 seconds in and already this video is WRONG. The chart would make it appear that there are 10 daytime hours (and thus 14 nighttime hours) per day. This may be true at some latitudes at certain parts of the year, but it`s certainly not always nor is it mostly true. Also, it`s highly doubtful anyone would be driving through those 4 reservations straight through as the video suggests, and even if someone was to, they would have zero need to change their clock during the journey. If you fly from Chicago to Abu Dhabi you don`t sit and change your clock to match each time zone you`re flying above, unless you`re into that sort of this.

all I know is I end up working the extra hour and not getting paid. It`s an antiquated idea that really has no part in society anymore. I say we build a wall to keep it out. It doesn`t belong. In fact, lets propose a constitutional amendment to ban it from getting married. yeah yeah. or we could just get rid of it.

The perceived need to go back to standard time every fall is based on little more than tradition: "This is how it was done when Sir Sanford Fleming invented Standard Time, dammit, and that`s what we go back to." During the so-called energy crisis, DST was enacted for the whole year in America, and many countries followed suit; I can`t imagine what problems this would cause. If we simply adopted DST as our standard time, I, for one, wouldn`t have to ride my motorbike home in the dark next month, and the ski industry might save on night-lighting. Where`s the harm in that?

Lets add a 13 to every clock and lets see what happens...

Daylight savings time should be the time for the entire year. Take it from someone that has seasonal affective disorder. Pitch blackness here in Canada at 3:30 pm in February is not fun.

i think the only real reason to keep it is so you can watch self changing clocks skip back an hour

I have read that the retail stores, restaurants, golf courses, movie theaters, and similar businesses want to keep DLS because it encourages people to go out more. If it is still light when you get home you are more likely to go out after work. Since these companies and business organizations (like the Chamber of Commerce) give money to politicians, it doesn`t matter how much we don`t like it, it is likely here to stay.

They tried doing away with it, and then one kid got run over by a school bus in the dark and that ruined it for the rest of us. One kid! A country at the time of two hundred fifty million has to keep DST. I thought it was a crock back then and still do.

I always thought it was Ben Franklin`s idea and I agree with the Germans putting it into existence.

I never cared if it was daylight saving or standard time. I always wanted to pick one and stick with it all year long.

I say we should not. But I also say keep the time as daylight saving time and ditch standard time. I only say this as a resident of PA where I wish there was "more sun" in the winter time, and given that PA only has about 60 sunny days a year on average.

I am for doing away with it. I don`t like being outside all that much anyway.

DST is stupid. We should stop it.

The government say we are going to do this.
Once the goverment starts something, it`s next to
impossible to get it to stop. I could point out the
DOE as an example. Or Affirmative Action. Or anti-marijuana laws.

Makes no sense, but gosh-darnit we`re gonna do it!

This guy does it with humour making an otherwise dreary subject relatively entertaining.

My vote: kill it. now.
