    I love Robert Downey Jr.

Also, Klamz, if that`s all it takes for you to boycott something, you should have boycotted superhero films a WHILE ago.

Personally, I don`t really like superhero films or most actions flicks for that matter. All they do is focus on blowing things up and CGI effects. They rarely have any real plot, nothing unique or original about them and most of them these days are remakes anyways.

I think Edward Norton is one of the more desirable actors to be in this film much like Robert Downey Jr.

At the very least they could have just written the Hulk out.

It`s an amazing idea to get all these actors who starred in the other movies together for one movie but you can`t replace parts of the cast and expect the same enthusiasm, especially someone who`s a very well established actor.

We`re not stupid people, we notice it`s a different person when they replace someone and pretend like it`s the same person. They completely lose the effect the entire movie is trying to make by doing it.

The only villain I see is Loki. So in his own movie Thor defeated Loki all by himself and this time it is supposed to be a challenge for the entire Avengers?

@Klamz: How pay tell, do you write the Hulk out of The Avengers? He is a central member first of all. Secondly, they already had the "Avengers" tease at the end of the last Hulk movie.

Ruffalo will do fine. I`m more worried about Loki.

Speaking of which, HolyGod: You do realize Loki and Thor are GODS right? They can`t really be "defeated". Also, what better to make him come back around, than the cosmic cube.

I wouldn`t write him out completely. Make it so he`s undercover or something in the beginning and he does take part in the action but only in green form.

Right at the moment when all hope seems lost, BANG SMASH ROOOOOOOOARRRRG in comes the hulk. Then later maybe introduce a the new actor as the hulk explaining since he was undercover he need plastic surgey. Make a joke out of it or something have someone ask him what the hell happened to his face.

But just replacing him with another actor and pretending like all is well and nothing has changed is NEVER EVER EVER the way to do it.

Loki isn`t the only villain. It`s been hinted that there`s a Skrull invasion as well.

And Klamz, that`s a ridiculous idea. Replacing the actor and leaving it at that is EXACTLY how you do it. Trying to explain why he`s actually a completely different person is even worse.

    @Klamz:
`But just replacing him with another actor and pretending like all is well and nothing has changed is NEVER EVER EVER the way to do it.`

Hulk- 2003 Eric Bana: Bruce Banner, 2008 Edward Norton: Bruce Banner, 2012 Mark Ruffalo: Bruce Banner

Batman- Various years: Micheal Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale

    Joker- Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger

Spiderman- Toby Macguire, Andrew Garfield (2012)

    Superman- Christopher Reeves, Brandon Ruth

Catwoman- Michele Pfeiffer, Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway

They change actors quite frequently in many movies. It always has been this way.

Not a Super hero but worth mentioning:

James Bond- Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig

Oh yeah so excited. Joss Whedon hasn`t disappointed me to this day and I`m sure he won`t with this despite having a star studded cast. Not to mention Marvel Entertainment`s involvement has ensured that all origin stories so far have stayed as true to the comics as possible. And the trailer just sorta confirms it. I wonder though how Iron Man and the Avengers are going to have a falling out with SHIELD in the movie.

"yet nobody has an issue with the same guy playing the human torch and captain america"

I do, quite a big one as well.

@Kitteh: Most of those are reboots/remakes and for the ones that aren`t it is again a very very stupid idea, Batman changing every movie confused the hell out of me when I was little. I kept saying, that`s not batman and waiting for the real batman to come onto screen and dethrone the impostor.

So lets say they replace all the actors, would this movie have as big of a draw as before? Not nearly! It would still be popular but most of what makes it amazing is you recognize these characters from other movies and you see them all coming together.

There`s no good reason to just replace one with someone else.

Though, considering the that anyone who would actually watch this movie clearly doesn`t enjoy plot depth, you might want to ask yourself why.

    Simple people, like simple things.

Actually, that was something I had a issue with when they first announced Chris Evans as Captain America. But all it really means is that they cannot have an Avengers/Fantastic 4 crossover movie.

    Klamz,

Have you watched the origin movies for these characters. I would say there was quite a bit of character development for each person. With such a back catalog of stories to go through for The Avengers, it wouldn`t be hard to pick a great story and bring it to the silver screen.

The only thing will say I completely agree with you on are that Ed Norton was a great Bruce Banner, and that action movies are normally shallow in story. That is the whole point of them, its just meant to be fun. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

One question; out of all the action movies that have come out recently how many of them exactly were remakes? You mentioned that most of them were, but I really couldn`t think of any.

ed norton was the only actor not signed to do a follow up *ie, the avenger movie* every other movie, including hulk, were made with the others in mind. a special treat, and 90% of the reason i will see avengers is the way every movie is tied together...go on utube and look theres a not so obvious camio in every single film, much like the capt shield in IM2...veryintresting stuff.

    Pillmatic,

It might be because I am such a nerd, but I found those quite obvious.

What Ive heard about the whole Ed Norton thing was that he did not have a great attitude toward the Hulk movie until it started doing well. I dont know if its true, but would explain why he wasnt asked back.

It was my understanding that Mr. Norton wanted to help edit the Hulk and make it a more character driven story. But when it came time, the studio said that they wanted to make it more action oriented and he dropped off of series all together.
