Hey they are on to something. I`m going to petition an act too, A.M.M.O. Americans Massacring Many Others. I hear guns have killed at least one person in the last 15 minutes.

Today I almost died due to an overdose of facepalm while watching this video, and after reading some of the comments. We need to enact a bill to ban all facepalming and facepalm inducing activities. We can call the bill "Facepalms Unequivocally Cause Kerfuffles"
what if a little girl gets killed by geese should we ban geese
Dude, we should ban geese anyway.

Little bastards are violent, annoying, and they sh*t all over the place (which is even more annoying, and not sanitary at all).

Thousands of people die every year from the use of alcohol and I actually very much doubt the girls cause of death was from ecstasy. She just had it in her system when she died.

Yes, it`s terrible for the family. Yes, a death is always tragic. But people die all the time after nights out at bars and clubs and we don`t ban those.

Lets cut to the chase. Drugs can be fun. But because they`re illegal these people are pretending that it`s a girls death that is the problem. They couldn`t care less about the girl. They just want to stop people from using substances that they don`t themselves make money from.

As a non-raver, non-drug dealer/user, thank you for the explanations altaru. Paraphernalia involved with a drug scene regularly exists to facilitate that scene, and it seems pretty clear the proper paraphernalia was banned.

Batmanners seems to have a problem admitting when he`s wrong.

And the old "don`t tell him" trick works on cops and the like all the time, don`t it?

That`s why people get busted with mary jane in their car. They OBVIOUSLY must have come out in the open and said "there`s about two pounds of Marijuana hidden under the passenger seat, I totally plan to sell it all over the course of the night."

Clearly, you`d make the best damned drug dealer ever. You know ALL the tricks, don`t you?

So are you allowed to bring baggies full of coke, syringes for heroin, and a XL Tylenol bottle full of pills?

I can think of MANY other ways to sneak drugs past a rave`s security. Here`s one way: In your pocket....any pocket.
Here`s another way, give him a little bit of your drugs, and he`ll let you in.
Another? Don`t tell him.
Okay, so, clearly for all your passing judgement on raves, you`ve never actually been to one.

More often than not, they don`t let you bring in large bags, and if they do you basically have to pull everything out of them to show you`re not carrying.

Stashing them in pockets doesn`t give you a night`s supply if you intend to sell.

You`re assuming the security is corrupt. High money says, he`s not, because he knows that if anyone finds out he not only loses his job and future job opportunities, but goes to jail.

And the old "don`t tell him" trick works on cops and

Good, because we really don`t like having mood killers standing around dragging down the atmosphere.

Have fun in those smelly-ass shoes.

I like how so many of these braindead e-tards are mad that there are people out there looking out for their well being. It`s not that we`re trying to stop you from having fun or doing drugs... We`re trying to prevent you having to regret thinking you liked raves... Obviously you`re not in your right mind if you like raves, and therefore need someone in their right mind to make decisions for you.

Ergo: If you like raves, you decide to stop having a say in what happens because you`re a silly person.
No stuffed animals??? What is that about? Pacifiers too??
Just speaking from a Devil`s Advocate POV, considering that I`ve heard the arguments against both of these, and here`s what it`s about:

People would open stuffed animals up, fill them with drugs, and sew them shut to sneak them into the event.

I actually encountered this once. Mother-f*cker brought in four stuffed dakkochans the size of small children (they`re Japanese toys with arms that wrap around your limbs), opened them up and made a killing that night.

As for pacifiers, people dip them in all kinds of stuff and suck on them. One of my high-schools actually had a case where a kid brought one in covered in a mix of powder cocaine and heroin, passed out in the middle of one of his classes and just died right there, at his desk, of an overdose.

Raves are dumb, and ravers are losers.

I would rather go bowling than spend 5 minutes at a rave. If I wanted to go rub up against a bunch of sweaty douchebags tripping on X while listening to atrocious techno music, I would kill myself and go to hell. I might as well just go to the place where raves obviously come from.

In my day raves all the raves were illegal. That was the whole point. When did it get all commercialised?

EDC has `hundreds of thousands` of attendees, and ONE girl dies? My condolences to the family. But that doesn`t merit legislation to ban raves.

Also, since when does one become `vulnerable` to Ecstasy? What a stupid name for a bill.

@Ogen - Statistically, Ecstasy is considered safer than cannabis. The risk of cancer is strongly increased due to inhalation of cannabis smoke. Don`t get me wrong, I think legalise them both, but you can`t say cannabis isn`t harmful. All drugs have their harm values, even if they are significantly low.

I say...

Let them ban LEGAL, controlled events.

Once the LEGAL events are all gone, they`ll see the sudden spike in ILLEGAL and completely uncontrolled events where even MORE people will die.

Then there`s two options:

A) The unlikely one, they`ll loosen up and realize that letting it all work itself out and letting survival of the fittest weed out the bad seeds is the best policy, or

B) They`ll crack down harder and harder until, eventually... *SNAP*

What happens after the snap? I don`t know for sure, but it won`t be pretty.

@-Firestorm- kids die in car crashes. Let`s ban cars shall we? Kids get drugs at high school so let`s close the schools. The rave did not cause this kid to use drugs and she would have done so anyway if not at the Rave, then somewhere else.

Emotional overreaction accomplishes nothing.

booring.
This isnt new. Something is fun. Like all fun things, it carries a tiny amount of risk. Its made illegal, because all fun things with a tiny amount of risk should be outlawed, for the sake of the overpopulation of the earth, and the boredom of the population, so that corporations can try to sell us something new, which might relive our broedom, like a new video game, ipad, movie, music, whatever.
The movies/music/whatever being sold sucks, so we find something new, intersting and fun to do. Like all such things, it carries with it a tiny amount of risk. Thus its made illegal, and the cycle repeats itself.

Heh, banning a type of music? If you could even do that, this genre would not be the first I`d choose. I might get flamed for this, but let me drop a hint: Bye bye, Nashville.

@Gerry1of1 Yes...one is all it takes...they don`t want more teens to follow...Raves still exist but not on mass that EDC hosted...and it still happens but when it happens in such a public scene, it`ll get noticed and parents will overreact as they do not want their children to have that fate...But if it were up to me? Then i`d let them continue...Los Angeles is overcrowded anyways...Survival of the fittest

The point i see is that a young girl died...the cause? too much XTC...and I saw this problem arise early 2005...younger teens discovered a new fad with "shuffling" that involved drugs(or at least a new drug they were not used to ingesting=no experience with it)...little kids don`t know how fast they can overdose on XTC and just take it not knowing the effects...i saw this shiz a lot and was just waiting for a younger teen to make it on the news...it was just a matter of time that this would happen at EDC...and all bc of the younger crowd of sheep

The decision to stop all nuclear power plants in Germany was made in the year 2000. The new Goverment canceled these plans in 2010 and after fudgeushima, they`re worried about their results of the election.
So... not directly overreacted... only an escape from the escape from the nuclear-escape

(This does not mean that germans don`t overreact!)

@Gerry

All countries are prone to this, not just the US. Look at how Germany is doing away with all nuclear energy after fudgeashima. Look at how Russia freaked out and put a freeze on adoptions over the case of the adopted Russian kid in the US being abuses.

I`m glad I live in the United States where we are free to live our lives the way we want. That`s why all those soldiers died right, to protect our freedom? America wouldn`t tell you what you can or can`t wear, what music to listen to, or what you can put in your body.

Hundreds of thousands of people attend, one stupid 14 year old dies and US takes the typical, over the top stupid stand "WE MUST STOP IT ALL".

Overreact much America?
