They are going to get sick soon. Close, unhygienic living in the cold and rain/snow cant be good for the body. and we still have about two months before winter :/
What would have driven me away is the loud obnoxious a-holes playing music like they are 5 years old.

"They are going to get sick soon."

This coming from someone who`s never spent more than than 40 hours a week outdoors, I take it?

As long as they`re well acclimatized, as in ten or more hours a day outdoors, weather doesn`t make people sick. I`ve essentially lived outside for as much as a month at a time when it`s 130 degree`s during the day, while at other times lived outside when it was 20 degree`s at night. All while maintaining labor intensive activities. Never had any health issues arise from this.

The crap music would suck though.

max makes a good point... has anyone addressed the health concern with these OWS folks? Maybe i`m overestimating the amount of people there but I would think such a large population shoved into a small area would be a breading ground for disease. Especially with such poor living conditions. And on top of that - this is being done in the center of one of the worlds most populated metropolotan hubs.

If I had a son or daughter that was there demonstrating, I would take everything they own that was in my house and put it out on the curb. Ever hear of the term "earning your keep"? Huh? It`s not a new concept. The world doesn`t owe you a f*cking thing junior, And the sooner you learn that, the better you will end up.

Weather does not make people sick, germs do. Weather can make you more susceptible to getting sick though. I was trying to get at that they are in the position to get sick because of the close living quarters and unhygienic living conditions (that I am assuming exist). I`m sorry Scuzoid, but you took it wrong :p I cant say that I have braved the outdoors as much as you have though lol.
It was wrong of me to say that they are going to get sick, but I do fear that they will.

We`ve had the "Greatest Generation," the "X Generation", the "Y Generation", and now we have the "Me Generation" They feel they are entitled to every thing and should not have to earn it.

    @lancecoolie,
while I agree with you, I think this movement is more about taking back the control of the government from the bankers and rich influential people. Keep business out of government and the government out of business. Some of the protesters may be looking for a free lunch but for the most part I feel that they want the government to stop stealing from them to give to rich people that cant keep their businesses afloat.

"Brave out the East Coast winter?" LOLOLOLOLOL. This storm was NOTHING. A half a day of wet snow and wind? Yeah, give these guys a medal. Let`s see how they do in February with sustained night time lows around zero, and a 18 inch blizzard or two thrown in for good measure.

I really don`t understand why these guys are getting such a bad rap? They`re protesting for what they believe in...Isn`t that in itself a good thing? Even though you may or may not agree with why they`re there can`t you at least go "Hey look they`re standing up for what they believe in...They`re not just sitting at home yelling at the tv...They`ve been there a while too...Not bad hippie not bad."? I mean from the mixed messages i`ve been getting from American and now news stories about an occupy Westminster or something I have to disagree that they`re asking to be bottle fed by the government for they rest of their lives. They`re just asking for the world to be a little bit more fair. Is that a bad thing? To stand up rather than sit there and go "Well it`s always been like this so no point in fighting." Equality...If you bust your a$$ you get a fair amount of money for it. Personally I think that`s all most of them want...Not to sit on their a$$ all day getting han

If they could put that energy and tenacity to working some sort of JOB, they may not have so much to protest.

pmarren - you made a point.
It`s a stupid point, but you made it nonetheless.
What jobs? There aren`t any, that`s one of the things they`re protesting. And "any job"? They got thier degrees and went 100K in debt after being told they could get a job getter than McDonalds. Now the only jobs available pay $8 per hour and won`t ever pay off those loans. But they`re the smartest people ever to serve french fries.

I use McDonalds as an example because I know a woman who got her MBA and after 2 years unemployment finally got a job as asst. manager at a Mickey-Dees.

As a Canadian, all I have to say is, the people who leave are straightup pussies. That weather doesn`t look too awful, uncomfortable yes, but not exactly a catastrophic winter storm.
